Leonard “Lenny” Bruton passed. He was one of my good administrators at Palm Beach State College. As an adjunct professor of Music at the Boca Raton campus of Palm Beach State College, I had the opportunity to teach music appreciation under the leadership of Bruton. He was a great leader.
Palm Beach State College released the following statement:
It is with great sadness that I share the passing of our colleague, former professor and Dean, Leonard Bruton.
While not everyone in our community may have had the opportunity to know Leonard personally, his legacy at Palm Beach State College Boca Raton spans decades. Leonard began his service to this campus in 1976 and dedicated over 40 years to PBSC, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students, faculty, and staff.
His commitment to education, leadership, and this institution is part of the very foundation of our campus, and his contributions will not be forgotten.
The family has shared the following message:
“Our beloved Leonard has passed away, and our hearts are broken. We are so grateful for the many messages of condolence and love we have received. However, as the family processes this profound loss, we are asking for some time and space to grieve privately. Please hold them in your thoughts and prayers, but we kindly ask that you refrain from reaching out directly or asking for details at this time. We will provide updates on a memorial service when appropriate. Thank you for honoring their need for peace.
The Bruton Family”
My condolences go to the family. My prayers also go out for the Bruton family and for his colleagues at the college as we all deal with his passing.
