The intent of this blog is to promote human equality, human progress, human peace and justice, and optimism. To accomplish this, to encourage the discussion of ideas after identifying and discovering problems, and then creating positive solutions for "we the people," in order to provide for the "general welfare" and "domestic tranquility" of America now and its "posterity" into the future. To encourage an emphasis on separation of religion and state for all, no matter if this is for those "of faith" in a Maker / Creator (Deists, God-loving people, Christians, various people of spirituality) and atheists or agnostics.

Spectrum, the lousy Internet provider

Spectrum is lousy with the Internet. Continuous buffering. Intermittent lack of synchronization of voice and video, especially on our favorite channels.  Intermittent bleeps out of audio, especially on our favorite channels but not on the shallow entertainment channels more people in America follow – containing guns and violence which inspire white racists to pick up A-15 automatic weapons and killing black folk. Now, our favorite radio station we receive on the Internet appears to be blocked as well.

Apparently no one else finds that these happen so frequently, so don’t speak up. Too bad.

Life in America

Dear Editors:

Here we go again. Shooting in Buffalo, NY. Shooting in a Texas school. Everyone has to share their own ideas and what happens? Does anything get solved?

The stupidity of Ted Cruz means he needs to be removed from the U.S. Senate. To claim it is all “politicized” is done for one reason. Make sure everything is done his way. Of course, what ever he believes is “not politicized” from his perspective. Cruz is mentally ill.

When I talk about mental illness, I need to mention Sean Hanity and Tucker Carlson, the Goebbels of today’s world. Tell a lie enough times and it becomes the truth. That is mental illness because mental illness is defined as “doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.” Cruz, Trump, Hanity, Carlson are all sicko as they continue to dig in their heels and not take a good hard look at this issue.

If Hanity and Carlson claim that “it’s not guns, but mental illness,” then they lead the charge regarding promotion of mental illness, so someone make sure they don’t get guns. But historical facts speak loudly and have been documented, but no one brings the issue up. The 2nd Amendment was created by plantation owners in out of fear of rebellion from the Africans whom they enslaved.  It has been proven over and over again. The fact that in Buffalo, it was a white racist who opened fire pretty much says it. People like the old plantation owners and the ones supporting gun rights by validating it by way of the 2nd Amendment are the ones who are mentally ill. White supremacists are mentally ill. So these imbeciles attack Democrats and others who are living in fear, not mental illness, from this domestic violence in the USA.   These people grab at gun laws while the white supremacists do everything they can do to speak against them and to sabotage them. Mental illness IS behind them. This is the reason to take the guns away from such white supremacists like the guy from Conklin, NY. But according to the newspaper, there are those who sell illegal automatic weapons from a gun shop in Endicott, NY, to these mentally ill white folks.  Those selling the guns are mentally ill, as they justify selling automatic weapons.  Personally, I feel safer walking the streets of Binghamton, NY, where there are a number of businesses run by black folks, than the main business section of Endicott, NY, where we can find a large number of mentally ill white folks.

There are many hunters with whom I have communicated about this issue. Most of these people with rifles see no need for automatic weapons.  According to the media, the type used in the shooting in Buffalo, NY.  These hunters have a recreational purpose for shooting animals such as deer, using the meat of the deer (venison) to eat.  Mentally ill ones wish to keep very bad weapons on the streets and do so for a purpose:  to kill human beings as easily as possible and in large numbers. In 2012, a man in the Rochester, NY, area was not allowed to carry guns, apparently due to his prison record. So, how did he get one? According to newspapers I read, he got the weapon from someone who bought it for him.  An accomplice. Is this not true? Is anything I am saying not true?  Have I made some kind of mistake in what I say and that is more important than anything else? Then those who dwell on this aspect are mentally ill because they dig in their heels in order to be fans of the NRA.

And then we have others like Wilson, like Cruz, the Republican who lacks any intelligence because he is working from what is considered the lowest level of intelligence when he speaks by giving crazy notions about human beings in which there is no evidence or facts to back up his opinions about a person.  “Wants to put criminals back on the street” is absurd to say about any person, based on the opinion of Wilson with regard to actions being made to try to CURB violence and criminals. The ideas used by one person might go against what Wilson and Cruz want to do, so they use stupidity and lies to soak over people and expecting different results the next time. Oh, but Goebbels said, if the lie is told enough times, it becomes fact.  That, too, is mental illness. I have made this comment many times, including two times in this article.

From this group of fascist right wing who have done more violent activities and damage with weapons in America than the left wing (prove it to me if this statement is wrong), are also the ones who want to tear down Roe v. Wade, Social Security, Obamacare, and Medicare, rather than reform any of these issues, as would be done in a democracy with people trying to solve problems rather than polarize everyone on one side of the political spectrum or the other.  Why do these people want to keep guns and destroy many of the other issues? Because they are white supremacists who are not consistent with their beliefs, as they have a hidden agenda with white supremacy and autocracy.  They are mentally ill because they are paranoid about the day when white folks in America might become a smaller number compared to the “colored” folks.  They can justify the use of guns to kill abortion doctors. How many times have I heard right wing christofascists defending these actions as if they are “pleasing to [a] god” to which they bow down.

This is life in America. Too many Americans are too apathetic because “it does not impact them.” Yes. Why should such people give one damn about what is happening? Just be fearful and paranoid and succumb to the wishes of the christofascists.

Is the Republican Leadership Nothing but a Cover-up for Fascist Racists & Bigots?

I get these messages all the time endorsing Rick Scott and others in the Republican Party. I send them to spam, but our system does no good in protecting us and the messages continue to come.  Cyber attacks continue. Scandals against us continue. Companies just don’t care and push these things back on the consumer and the consumer has no recourse any more, since this nation adopted supply side Reaganomics and looks at the virtues of selfishness and individualism. What are we to do?

The current information is about how Rick Scott and other Republican leaders are pushing to destroy not only Obamacare, but also Social Security and Medicare.  Let me differentiate from the rank-and-file Republicans and say Rick Scott and these other wealthy ones who cater to the wealthy (including Ron DeSantis – or DePutin or DeSatan and Trump) are not Republicans but are Racists and Thugs of bigotry – or RATS.  They work to validate putting the word Republican somewhere between REPTILE and REPUGNANT in the dictionary as the most important distinction.  I have been a Republican and find this position to be the fault of RATS, not Republicans.

Then I speak with common folk who get maneuvered by these RATs and express the ideas these repugnant people are shoving down their throats. “Too many don’t like Medicare…” or “Medicare is socialist,” even after I can prove that private medicine in America has little good capitalist RETURN ON INVESTMENT (ROI). I get ignored.  One can fix and reform Medicare and this healthcare system for all with something other than just taxes and we end up with a better ROI. Canada spends less on health care and their ROI is that people live longer in Canada than they do in America.  That is ROI not socialism.

I have never met a single person among the common folk and following these lies to be anything but the color of WHITE.  None. This is the REAL reason behind opposition to Medicare AND Social Security, as well as Obamacare and people are just taking this aspect for granted.  It is called racism and no interest in human equality of the races.  A white woman has control over a black man who sits on the SCOTUS, so the man is an Uncle Tom.

Human beings of all races, colors, creeds, religious beliefs, and sexual identities need human justice with human equality. Period. It is not a complex issue. Human justice with human equality.  Period.  We can still maintain “minorities,” but thinking like SCOTUS Justice Thurgood Marshall, we maintain a human equality and stop the damn fighting. Give us cradle to grave healthcare. Stop the BS of lawyers who take away finances of the community of common folk, so we can pay for a PROACTIVE (not necessarily always progressive, socialist, or liberal) healthcare system.  Stop the BS in America over these topics and let us all come together to work to reform for the purposes of human equality and justice. For we fought a civil war in the mid-1800s, but there has not been true peace in America without JUSTICE. Peace and justice go hand-in-hand.

When a white man from this area where I live purchases an illegal assault weapon at a shop on Nanticoke Avenue in Endicott, NY (just over the hill from my home here), and drives some four hours to shoot and kill black people at a super market, this tells me there are plenty of white racist bigots who are coming out of the closet.  As some people would say in this area, “the woodchucks are coming out of the woodwork.”  And those common folk who talk down Medicare or Social Security for all are bastards, snots, and lousy human beings.  They support the efforts of RATs to destroy these things and do not even consider or THINK about what they do. THINK. From Thomas J. Watson who founded IBM here (and not far from that gun shop).  Did that man not hire black folks at IBM because he did not wish to provide the wonderful benefits to anyone except white people?  Hmmmm…. Let me THINK on that one.

I support what is truly REPUBLICAN and founded by people like Ezra Cornell of Ithaca, NY, and many others who had brains to be able to THINK and reason about the abolition of slavery and human equality.   I find too much of the Republican leadership to consist of RATs.

Beautiful CBS Channel 12 and Mattar Commercials and We Don’t Get to the Root of our Societal Problems with Lawyers who Think we Do

Mattar puts a commercial on television about being hit by a drunk driver and then going after them. The problem is not solved by avenging what was done.

The problem does not have its roots in alcohol or drugs. The problem is not alcohol consumed by young people, either. The same thing can be said that the problem about domestic terrorists such as the one who shot people in Buffalo last Saturday, is not guns.  None of these problems can be solved by censorship and prohibition. This would include the problem of abortion. These problems stem from a lack of education to teach young people to be responsible and always consider cause and effect in our lives.

Historically, the problem stems from moving to a consideration of community and society to one of individualism and the virtue of selfishness. The love affair America created with the car created much of this individualism and eliminated the existence of public transit. We moved from horse and buggy days to the automobile. We think we need to create automobiles which are “intelligent” as horses were in getting a drunkard back home, “automatically” after imbibing at a pub, tavern, bar, or restaurant.

The problem is the lack of intelligence and reasoning due to individualist thinking of human beings.  Lawyers like Mattar do NOTHING to help solve this problem. They just pit Americans against Americans. This attitude is a polarizing one.  Such lawyers just figure they are doing a service by filing lawsuits against big insurance companies.  Many of us can explain what is TRULY needed for lawsuits against some corporations. Lawyers like Mattar refuse to listen to us.

Yes, Mr. Mattar, it is sad that we have DUI in society. For sure. But I grew up in a dry town in New York state where we witnessed people driving out of town to drink at restaurants, bars, etc. We heard of a man who drove from a wet town back home and did not realize there was a train coming down the tracks he was crossing, so the train hit his car. We learned the man was decapitated in the process. What has been done to end this crap? We had trains for public transit. We had horses and buggies. The automobile and individualist thinking with the love affair for the car is the real problem. Related to lawyers, I spoke with people who revived old passenger trains here in the valley for the purpose of putting dining cars on the trains and selling tickets for dining where someone could ride and receive alcohol while dining and not have to drive a long distance.  Why did this passenger service stop? I was told it was due to lawyers which caused the price of insurance to go too high to make a profit.  Lawyers who could then use the money to pay for commercials like those of William Mattar and others, as they pit Americans against Americans.

P.S. Hopefully, sending this message to the Rachael Ray Show, where I have viewed most of the stupid commercials for Mattar and other lawyers who pit Americans against Americans, I can convey my message to Rachael’s husband, John, who is also a lawyer.

There he goes again

Wilson running for governor of NY in upcoming Republican primary.

He stoops to the lowest common denominator. He stoops to the shallow side of life. He stoops to discussion by tarnishing names of people, not ideas and spoken with facts and evidence which support the ideas.  A practice like that one Wilson uses is considered the lowest level of intelligence. Discussing ideas is the highest level of intelligence. We still get damn commercials from Wilson which discuss what he considers to be dirt about people.

Thus, I resort to the lowest level of intelligence by speaking about a person: Wilson.  I do this only to get the point across about the idea that we should be using the highest level of intelligence. Silly me for doing it this way.

We don’t want to hear about dirt about people. We want to hear words about ideas for which a person has. Otherwise, do not broadcast such shallow s**t in commercials on CBS Mornings.  Save the dirt for sensationalist National Enquirer or New York Post or … whatever. But not within what is supposed to be respectable broadcasting media.

P.S. If I go to the news stand and look for legitimate news sources like legitimate local newspapers, it is tough to find one available. If I look over at the newspapers which ARE available, they are typically sensationalist ones like The National Enquirer or The New York Post. Alongside these newspapers which are available is Rupert Murdock’s Wall Street Journal. As a librarian and researcher who worked alongside market research people, this tells me that the ones which are selling are the local newspapers IN PRINT, not these other newspapers. I can find the personal finance and business news I need in a local newspaper out of Scranton, PA. Why do I need the Wall Street Journal?  As a librarian, my library subscribed to Investors Business Daily. I found, along with my clients, the IBD to be a better newspaper than Wall Street Journal. Where does one find IBD on the shelves? If not on the news stands then at a library?

Spectrum: Is there Good ROI?

Capitalism is truly about return on investment, supply AND DEMAND, and balance in economics. It is being sold by the wealthy autocrats as being supply side economics which favors the wealthy monopoly over the demand side. It results in lousy return on investment, or ROI.

I am not able to express my criticism and complaints for the purpose of fixing the problems because of one lousy thing which Spectrum and most American businesses have today: automated answering systems. Speaking to computers rather than human beings.  But we know that computers have more rights than humans do, so silly me.  Silly me for having such high expectations of American business, just because I lived at a time when there WAS good service from American business so I could say we had good ROI from American business, as a consumer on the demand side of the market. Thus, it is difficult to call and easier to write a diatribe to Spectrum News.

Now that I have gotten that off my chest, why am I writing about ROI with respect to Spectrum? Here is the reason.

With Spectrum streaming services, it is the only way to receive local broadcast channels here in this rural area. So we have Spectrum streaming. I would prefer to have an antenna on my house in order to pick up the local channels and I can dumb Spectrum streaming. But try to get services in this area to install it. They are also rotten examples of business in America because they either don’t exist or they don’t want to touch local broadcast channels.  And it is difficult for me to work with the lousy digital broadcasting today with signals weakened by the FCC so we can have lousy mobile phone service instead.  All in the name of PROGRESS?  Is this PROGRESS or just a “trend” created by the fat pigs (in the late 1800s, the newspapers called them “fat cats”).

With this being said, would one not expect better services from streaming than one would receive with FREE broadcasts from the air? Would one not have an expectation for watching ON DEMAND, rather than LIVE REAL TIME when there are times in the early morning when there is little to choose for programs, as Food Network and many others do nothing but stupid infomercials?  Is this expecting too much to be able to view ON DEMAND of programs from the past hours or future hours? I have tried it. Not available. Shall I explain how much I spend on Spectrum and Spectrum streaming? Without explaining how much, just believe me that the CAPITALIST ROI ROTS.  It is lousy.

On top of this, how many times have I viewed local broadcast channels on Spectrum streaming and found the video and audio synchronization to be way off? Need I tell people how many times this has happened? Typically, I can synch the video and audio by re-loading the pages. Not this morning. Nope.

So who am I going to call? Ghost busters?  My frustration over lousy American business practices today leads me to writing this note to Spectrum News and copying others on what I write. What choice do I have? Fill out a survey as to whether or not the people at Spectrum are doing a good job? Why is there never an option for feedback to the CEO, CFO, executives, or the board which runs Spectrum? Why is there never a feedback on how well the corporation is doing. Only to fill out a feedback about the LABOUR, so as to fire one of them if they are not doing a good job.  As a lifetime member of unions, I find this all a disgusting situation and want to speak out and tell people about it. Spectrum: you (as the stupidity of the SCOTUS Citizens United puts corporations as human individuals) suck.  And Spectrum is not the only “individual” or corporate entity which sucks.  There are some good ones out there, but many of them are not trying to buck this trend for being lousy freaking entities on the side of supply side economics, ignoring the demand side of economics so as to line the pockets of the wealthy CEOs which have salaries and bonuses increased astronomically from the Reagan era, by more than 1000%, while labour has languished and the Middle Class has been ruined.  The Middle Class is the best means of supporting democracy, too, so one can see what is happening with a strategy for supply side economics in order to destroy balance not only in economics, but balance in government democracy.

My frustrations might emanate from me. But I don’t speak only for myself, but for many Middle Class people from a class of people which is being destroyed.  Too many people, including lawyers who think they are doing a good job for America by taking on big insurance but don’t work for the overall picture and consideration which I address.  It does take a village of those who want supply AND demand, wish to preserve our democracy by means of a Middle Class, and to bring peace AND justice for all to America.  ROI? Who gives a damn about ROI these days, right? ROI is another practical part of capitalism. You wish to hear more about what I think about ROI? I am willing to explain, but not now.

There is lousy ROI with Spectrum and Spectrum streaming. When we had “cable” television regulated by local authorities, we had a better ROI than what we get from Spectrum today.  Since the FCC has regulated this business, like a central Politburo in Putin’s world, the commissioners there have lined their pockets, too, from the big corporate conglomerates of the supply side Reaganomics.  That is called corruption and it is corruption at the highest levels, due to supply side Reaganomics. What if we, once again, had a good ROI and not just in the industry in which Spectrum is involved?

Food Network & a Polarized Shallow Society with Predominance of Competition, Violence, Guns, Rather than Information and Knowledge

Food Network has ruined its morning schedule on Thursdays and Fridays beginning at 8 AM. It’s bad enough they have all the damn infomercials before 8 AM, unlike HGTV which sometimes begins earlier. On Thursday and Friday mornings, Food Network has pre-empted informative programs with competitive s**t of programs, such as Chopped, Worst Cooks. Let the prime time audience see those shows because there are few other choices at that time of the morning. Thanks for continuing with informative programs the early mornings of the other days of the week. How about if Food Network adds to its all-white people programs some informative cooking shows from CLEO and other non-white-people programs? I must say, though, that Molly Yeh with Jewish and Chinese features is great. Delicious Miss Brown (an African-American) on Tuesdays is great. But what about soul foods and other cooking shows? But overall, informative and not competitive “cutthroat” s**t needs to be the word of the day.

Spectrum Streaming buries Create TV deep in the schedule, rather than as part of the local television lineup and the Customer Service validates this with an emphasis on technological handle this to our advantage – a complicated process with “favorites.” This process is not easy to discover and learn. For things like this, with the regular print media and times when we had a stronger local business and news.  Gannett newspaper in this area, a monopoly in the Southern Tier, has eliminated local columnists and local news and reporting.  The newspaper has been condensed by eliminating many things. The elimination includes local arts and music critics, food critics, restaurant critics, or other types of columns.  Instead, it is limited ONLY to political analysis at the national level and little or no local political analysis. And if it is political analysis, the fat pigs purchasing the newspapers often put bias according to one side of the political spectrum or another.

Gannett, most recently, eliminated the TV matrix which provides local television programming. This is creepy and run by fat pigs who have little or no desire to meet the OVERALL needs of WE THE PEOPLE. In other words, if my interest is part of the non-shallow crowd and more intellectual part of society, we are being told to go to hell by the fat pigs at the top of so many corporations today. Even TV Guide does not contain some of the local programming. For instance, try to find WSKG’s Create TV in the lineup.

This is all designed to favor the lowest common denominator and the nerds of technology.

Catering to the lowest common denominator is predominant today and it is crap.

According to merriam-webster.com, lowest common denominator (or least common denominator) is defined as such:

“something of small intellectual content designed to appeal to a lowbrow audience”

Examples (from merriam-webster.com):

Cinemas are currently offering a pretty easy program tailored to the lowest common denominator that simply gets the audience only used to event films. — Alex Ritman, The Hollywood Reporter, 11 Feb. 2022.

Managing to the lowest common denominator, changing compensation, more bureaucracy, and increasing pressure to cross-sell bank products are examples of how big firms are asserting their power over advisors and their businesses. — Mindy Diamond, Forbes, 25 Jan. 2022

When will we have a “village” to change this s**t whi8ch predominates society today? It needs to end. People need to learn to take responsibility for any actions which polarize and divide our society.

Perhaps if people were to apply the intent of Roe v. Wade (making false claims that it goes against the U.S. Constitution), rather than waste our times by fighting it with corrupt practices of Trump and McConnell and others who claim to be Christians, parents and others would take advantage and teach their children to be responsible for their actions. They could explore with their children all the options with cause and effect. Instead, prohibiting something and enforcing this with children does more to NOT teach their children very well. The same thing happened with the prohibition of alcohol about 100 years ago.

Same thing with sex when the English language has only ONE word for love. With the English language, the word, “love,” is applied to romance, sex, brotherly love,  love without strings attached, and other aspects of love. From the example of Greece, the cradle of democracy, comes, numerous different words representative of different aspects of love.  Those words were used in the Gospels (written in Greek) and all translated to English with ONE WORD only: “love.”

Sorry. I cannot help explaining details and going into so much. When the world was not shallow and catering to non-intellectual values, I had more happiness and did not need to write. I don’t use guns, I use the writing of words. Part of the non-intellectual and appeal to the lowest common denominator presents the teaching of violence and guns, whether in the media or in the home. Won’t the lowest common denominator be happy when the intellectual become the lowest common denominator. When these perverted shallow people predominate, they will have their wish. They are happy if they can spend time fighting Roe v. Wade, the teaching of the truth about racist history, and destroying the teaching of sexual identity. Time ends up being spent on such contentions and polarizations than on what we can all do for the overall human race. In this case, we end up with corruption from people like Trump and McConnell and the statement about “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely” also becomes firm with evil people.

Reproductive Rights, HUMAN BEINGS (WE THE PEOPLE), and America

May 13 is a date which lives in my memory. On May 13, 1965, my mom gave birth to my little sister. But on May 13, 1965, a Thursday and not Friday the 13th, my mom had a stillbirth. She had gone full term – 9 months – carrying this baby and the baby was born already dead. At Johnson City, NY’s Wilson Memorial Hospital (now UHS), my mom had a stillbirth.

In later years, my mom mentioned that she felt the baby die in her womb a few days before, on Mother’s Day. My mom mentioned that the mortician in Newark Valley noted the baby had an enlarged head and several other defects. To my mom, she thought being stillborn saved the life of the only girl for whom she gave birth.

For me who believes in a resurrection, I believe that in some way, God brought my little sister to be with God and some day I may be able to meet her. That is my belief.

What I don’t like is the words of an anti-abortionist whose name shall remain nameless, who felt it was the fault of a god and turned to a religious cult which opposed abortions. This same person also faulted a god for the loss of about three or four fetus due to “spontaneous abortions.” These are better known as miscarriages.

I am opposed to abortions. I teach, not preach. I place the rights of human beings above those of a fetus because there is a resurrection, based on a man who walked the earth and his father sacrificed him for the human race. These idiots who insist on DICTATING to the rest of us do not even consider cradle to grave societal healthcare and follow the words of freaking lousy lawyers who block us from attaining cradle to grave healthcare by making money of their damn lawsuits which are many times made by freaks and liars.

Instead, I go by the words of a Crosby Stills Nash & Young song:

Teach your children well

Their father’s hell

Did slowly go by

And feed them on your dreams

The one they pick’s

The one you’ll know by

Then a change in lyrics:

Teach your parents well

Their children’s hell

Will slowly go by

And feed them on your dreams

The one they pick’s

The one you’ll know by

Don’t you ever ask them, “Why?”

If they told you, you would cry

So, just look at them and sigh

And know they love you

The song is not about a group of puritans dictating to society and destroying reproductive rights. It’s about the human race. I even mentioned this belief to a black man I knew who said he supported anti-abortion efforts for society. The reason? In order to expand the black race. I was blunt and told this man that it is not about a race and the color of the skin, but about the human race. Perhaps I need to tell this to a freaking man with pubic hairs on a soda can and named Clarence Thomas. Maybe this should be said to a white man who sits on the SCOTUS, even though there were allegations given by women about his disrespect for women while dating. I speak of Brett Kavanaugh.

What about some of the others who helped push us to this brink of dictatorship? For instance, female-groping Trump?

How about corrupt McConnell who never earned his money in a legitimate way? McConnell. A lawyer. A career lawyer who does the work of the mob from puritanical s**t of people. Puritanical. He became rich by doing the work of the puritanical s**t of America.

Read the drama, The Crucible. It demonstrates that the TRUE reason for witch trials in New England was because of money, not religion. Yet, everyone believes it is religion to be dictated to everyone. Our U.S. Constitution gives us religious freedom. These dolts and idiots who intend to destroy reproductive rights do so on the basis of THEIR religious beliefs. For the rest of us, the majority of Americans, these s**theads take away our religious freedom. In stories like The Crucible, we hear about attempts to confiscate property, like a bunch of Marxist Communists, especially when the property is water front property. In those years, waterways were the primary means of transportation.

With this being said, if one were to read a book from Cornell University Press, we find a TRUE report of the false execution of a member of the Cornell family in Rhode Island, due to lies about apparitions being admissible in the court. This event happened in colonial America (late 17th Century) before we wrote the U.S. Constitution after throwing off the British Crown. The property in which this man who was falsely executed would have inherited was purportedly (from the best I can figure out, based on some records of the past – and I COULD BE WRONG – so don’t go for being wrong, if I am, but for the point I am TRYING to make here) located on a waterway.

How do I get from reproductive rights to these descriptions? Because the Cornells came here from England in 1638. They are recorded as being members of St. Mary’s Church of England church (Episcopal in America). Their relatives are buried there and the records demonstrate the family being at this church, located in Saffron on Walden, County Essex, England. We still need more research on this, but circumstantial evidence says that 1638 was at a time when there were events on the horizon and certainly the family realized the polarization of a society in England. I speak about the later puritanical dictatorship of Cromwell taking over in England, beheading King Charles, and starting the English Civil War. In the late 1600s, when the puritanical rule ended in England, too many of them apparently ended up coming to New England. it caused great upheaval in the Cornell family by persecuting those who may NOT have been in accordance with the religious practices of puritanical crap.

The Cornells then fled to Rhode Island with Baptist Roger Williams and the one persecuted named Anne Hutchinson. In other words, people came here to America to escape persecution based on religious beliefs. Then, the puritans come here and began to persecute the others who came here to escape persecution themselves. If Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, and others on SCOTUS had any brains to understand this type of America. I met add this area in the northeastern area of America was one of the first to shed this nation of enslavement of Africans. The slave ship or two which was confiscated in order to set people free. Other measures for the work of those who wished to end slavery.

In fact, a descendant of this Cornell family, Ezra Cornell, was purportedly an early member of the Republican Party of New York, due to his stand for the abolition of slavery. His son, Alonzo B. Cornell, was one of the first Republican governors of New York. Today, this political party has been commandeered by puritanical s**t who wish to dictate THEIR beliefs on society. These beliefs are ones of hatred for the human race, far from what Ezra Cornell and other members of the original Republicans represented. They protect one element, fetus in the womb, while never taking any interest in those outside the womb, except to impose hateful attitudes and denying cradle to grave healthcare, and not allowing “WE THE PEOPLE” to understand our children and others who have identified that they have a natural inclination towards romance and sex. To add to this last statement, “…the one they pick’s the one you’ll know by…” Ask me about the number of young people from McConnell’s Kentucky who were abandoned by their families, out of fear that “NURTURING” overrides “NATURE.” The kids then go live on the streets in Florida, due to parents who don’t know how to teach their children, but PREACH and DICTATE to their children. WE THE PEOPLE don’t want such idiots and dolts determining their ideas about a supposed “justice” and dictate it in any method they want to do, whether the bitch in the 17th Century and her apparitions and lying, to the bitch (and others) today who think there is a requirement impose THEIR rules on all of us and call it “justice.” Sure. Tarnish the opposition. It ends up more than just the tarnishing. It ends up achieving THEIR justice with execution and genocide, like a Putin in Russia, not like America. America was formed as a result of throwing off royalty and aristocratic SUPPLY SIDER dictatorship. It was the era of “enlightenment” in which enlightened thinkers spoke about using balance, both in politics and economics. Most importantly, America was formed with a quest for religious freedom. You support anti-reproductive rights or same-sex relationships, you are imposing a religious belief on all our society.

I can’t imagine what it is like to be a woman in the United States of America today. If I feel the blow of Samuel Alito’s draft opinion pm Roe v Wade in the pit of my stomach – and I do – I can only try to imagine how it must feel to have one’s own body assaulted, occupied, and colonized in this way.

Many people are repeating the line used by then-Sen. Kamala Harris in Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing for the Supreme Court. “Can you think of any laws that give the government the power to make decisions about the male body?” she asked. “I’m not thinking of any right now, Senator,” Kavanaugh replied.

But there is such a law, and it’s worth mentioning. The Selective Service requires all men of a certain age to register for military conscription. The draft hasn’t been used in many years — it affects men, who have more power — but it allows the government to take possession of men’s’ bodies and use them as instruments of war. My generation of men faced a high probability of being drafted and were ordered to submit to the requisite training and be sent off to Vietnam if we were chosen.

That was the old order. Men fought for the state, and when they returned home (if they returned home) they worked for wages to support the economic system. Women bred for the state, then raised the children that they produced. You played your role or you paid the price.

Now, they’re bringing the old order back. They call themselves “pro-life,” even as they clamor for war, for poverty, to deprive people of medical care and a livable involvement. You can’t be pro-life and call down death.

We are once again ruled by a priesthood that preaches the right to life from the moment of conception until the moment you’re born Muslim. Or dark-skinned. Or poor. Or female.

The men who are shrugging off this development better think twice. Unless you’re privileged, they’ll devalue your life too. You can’t be anti-woman and pro-human. Some men will experience the pyrrhic pleasure of mistreating women, but at what cost? Watch out, men. They’ll make a barbarian of you soon. It may sound good to you now, but you’ll be a footsoldier in the mud and not a general in the great tent.

But I apologize. This is me, a man, trying to understand how it feels to be a woman today. But the draft wasn’t the same, was it? Sure, we could die. We, too, could be physically violated and be helpless to prevent it. But the intimacy of women’s subjugation, its linkage to the physical human core … that, I can’t picture. I can only empathize. And support. And fight.

The Greek poet CP Cavafy’s best-known work is “Waiting for the Barbarians,” which describes a nation-state paralyzed into inaction by the anticipation of an invading horde. That, to me, describes the mainstream politicians who have watched the rise in Republican barbarity, their wholesale attack on democratic process and their hijacking of the judiciary, and done nothing about it.

Why isn’t anything happening in the senate?

Why do the senators sit there without legislating?

Because the barbarians are coming today.

What laws can the senators make now?

Once the barbarians are here, they’ll do the legislating.

Lofty sentences about political norms and senatorial decorum are the hollow talk of hollow figures in marble hallways, living statues waiting for the barbarians. They don’t act because they have chosen to become symbols, not living actors in a flesh-and-blood drama. And they don’t act, perhaps, because they can’t believe it’s really happening. Like the protagonist in another Cavafy poem, they paid no attention as walls were built to enclose and entomb them.

With no consideration, no pity, no shame,

they have built walls around me, thick and high …

I had so much to do outside.

The draft system was much easier to escape if you were rich or middle class, if you were white. There were doctors to certify you unfit. If that form of exemption became more difficult, your parents could always send you to Canada. People of color and the poor got the worst of it. They get the worst of it now. They’re far more likely to serve in the military, often because they have no other economic alternatives. There they must contend with danger, senior-level incompetence, suicide epidemics, and the abuse of their addicted comrades.

People of color and the poor will get the worst of this New Old Order, too, as disadvantaged women find themselves unable to afford the interstate travel that bodily autonomy will soon require. That will displease the Big Tech branch of the ruling elite, which has long been concerned with the problem of excess population. As I once wrote of Tyler Cowen, a favored economist of that set:

Cowen promotes his idea of the “hyper-meritocracy” in “Average Is Over.” The brilliant and self-motivated (as he sees them) will become wealthier and more powerful than ever, while the rest of society (which Cowen pegs at 85 percent of the population) becomes a permanent underclass, dwelling in shantytowns and struggling to survive.

With Roe v Wade gone, make that 95 percent. The tech tycoons may moan, but they’ll go along with it in the end. Barbarians use social media, too.

One of the most striking things about the Alito draft is its rage. These judicial moles have watched, and waited, and bided their time, pretending to be sober jurists until their moment came around. Now, the fury is unleashed. Chief Justice Roberts may tone down the language, but the lurking creature has growled deep down in its throat.

When they were building the walls, how could I not have noticed!

But I never heard the builders, not a sound.

Only one in four Americans wants the Court to overturn Roe v Wade. There are nationwide demonstrations against it. They’re doing it anyway.

The Democrats in Washington – somebody – should be demanding that the courts be taken back from the antidemocratic minority. This is the battle we should be fighting. This is the line that should be drawn. Too many of them, however, seem to have another plan in mind. It’s the same one they’ve been following for years, and it goes like this: Why legislate? Once the barbarians are here, they’ll do the legislating.

Night has fallen. The walls have been built. They’re here.

My additional comments. The two presidents who did not get the popular vote, yet had a hand in creating this SCOTUS today, had it been the “men of the new old order,” based on many, many years ago, would have had to stand on the front lines in front of troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas of the world. Think about that. The leader led the troops into battle at one time. LBJ of Texas, without even being elected president because of being next in line when JFK was murdered, should have been at the front lines of the troops in Vietnam. None of them were.

Amanpour & Company, May 4-5, 2022

Dear Amanpour & Company:

Where do I begin? In viewing this program tonight, I begin with some of the last words spoken by Ms. Amanpour:  “human rights.”  With the issue before the SCOTUS tonight, “human rights” is important. But the Democrat who wishes to challenge Kemp of Georgia has said this one other thing, which was not mentioned. We cannot have peace without justice. The SCOTUS is SUPPOSED to be about doing the job of JUSTICES in order to assure justice and domestic tranquility. The dolts who are sitting in the current day majority, appointed by men who DID NOT win the popular vote in presidential elections, are possibly making some lousy decisions which move America away from “human justice.”

Democracy can provide peace AND justice and do so far beyond the consideration of “human rights.” We should have learned this from the American Civil War and the subsequent lousy crap which happened when a Democrat won only one term for president and then came back for a second term and we overturned what Republican Reconstruction had done and ushered in Jim Crow. But too much stupidity and lack of reasoning demonstrates too many have not learned from history. The woman from Georgia is correct. The Human rights are part of this is important, but “peace without justice” is what is truly appropriate and that is not being said. I don’t know how I can get across what I am trying to say in all of this.  Ms. Amanpour is correct, but I still do not believe we are going far enough.

I have female friends who have sent me disparaging remarks about Ayn Rand and her “virtue of selfishness” ideals.  Ayn Rand came here from Russia where they have never learned what democracy and capitalism is TRULY about. But out of feeling sorry for her, people came to her side in all things. I had females who sent me information challenging this atheist from Russia who had such a profound influence on America with the ideas of “selfish” individualism.

At the same time, these females who have expressed disdain over Ayn Rand also express very deep support of the ideas for PRO CHOICE and the woman’s right to an abortion. That is the SAME THING AYN RAND SUPPORTED. The right of a woman to have an abortion.  Ayn Rand.  But we are still stuck on Ayn Rand and her principle of the “virtue of selfishness.” Gloria Steinem speaking last night plus the other woman on the opposite side of the picture BOTH represented the thoughts about individual selfishness. Some of my female friends might like Steinem, but how about considering this junk and vicious behavior in America – the POLARIZATION OF AMERICA – due to individualism and selfishness.  The issue is about human rights, but more importantly about HUMAN JUSTICE, as Stacey Abrams of Georgia has said.

Theocracies, fascist autocracies like Hitler and Mussolini, communist regimes like Joseph Stalin, and now with Putin’s plutocracy all have one thing in common. Establish “peace” by means of execution of enemies, just like any Mafia of ANY culture would do (and I am not just singling out Italians, so let me make that very clear) and by means of genocide.  By putting sunder their opposition, they then can say “they establish peace.” The Confederate bastards of the 19th Century had the same motive. Murder all the black people and we can have peace. They carried it forward after Grover Cleveland and other Democrats of the late 1800s pushed this crap upon the American public, like “gerrymanderers” in Dixie are doing today.  Another lesson from history which is ignored.

Those who spoke tonight, besides Chris Christie, spoke about many things, but ignored anything I am trying to say.  The best part this evening was listening, for a short time, to author, Margaret Atwood. It was too short of a time because she made some very good points about LEARNING FROM HISTORY.  But it was cut short and that was disappointing.

Related to Canadian author, Atwood, is something which I relate to all of this. It may have no relationship at all. But one thing is this. I am related to another Canadian author, now deceased.  His name was Hugh MacLennan.  My great-grandmother was Angeline MacLennan. She hailed from central Pennsylvania in a town called Orwigsburg (Schuylkill County).  Angie MacLennan married my great-grandfather who lived on the New Jersey side of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.  That was Rev. Joseph Smith Eldridge, a pastor in the Methodist Church for many years.

Rev. Joseph and Angeline “Angie” MacLennan, had a daughter they named Clara Permelia Eldridge. When Clara was barely four years of age, she lost her mother, Angie (MacLennan) Eldridge.  Why? Because in 1903, abortions were NOT ALLOWED. Angie died in childbirth, along with that child which was due to be born in 1903. This lack of abortion snuffed out the life of a mom. That mom was unable to celebrate Mother’s Day with her one child. She was not able to celebrate Mother’s Day with any other POSSIBLE children, had she been able to have an abortion.  It was a legitimate marriage and legitimate children.  But the complications snuffed out the life of a MacLennan woman, related to Canadian author, Hugh MacLennan.  And to think the stupidity of those on the current day SCOTUS might just leave the door open for states (in Dixie, particularly) to ban abortion of ANY KIND, even if the life of a mother is threatened or there has been rape involved. It is a move backward. It is interesting that Atwood, author of The Handmaid’s Tale, relates to what the theocracy in Cambridge, MA, once did to other Americans. More recent Cambridge, she explained, was used for her setting in the book, due to the legacy from the past in which puritanical folks treated other people with s**t (my word, not Atwood’s word).  But Atwood was cut short and we never heard more from her an that is sad.  For the example is about “peace without justice” which prevailed in 17th Century New England and things like the Salem Witch Trials and other modes of execution.

Ezra Cornell, founder (co-leader, whatever) of Cornell University, can trace his lineage back to 17th Century Rhode Island and the wrongful execution of his ancestor named Thomas Cornell, Jr, at the hands of such puritanical s**t.  Read all about it in a book published by the Cornell University Press and titled, Killed Strangely. It is about the murder of Thomas, Jr’s mother, Rebecca (Briggs) Cornell. Rebecca (Briggs) Cornell also happens to be my ancestor, too.

Ezra Cornell was one of many founders of the REPUBLICAN PARTY in central New York, due to his standing up for the abolition of slavery in Dixie.

What about Clara Eldridge? She married my grandfather, Floyd B. Schoonmaker, after completing her music degree at what is now Ithaca College, but was, at the time, called Ithaca Conservatory of Music. That was during the era of Jim Crow. In spite of that, Simon and Bertha (Palmer) Haley were students in Ithaca. Simon at Cornell University and Bertha at Ithaca Conservatory of Music, apparently graduating in the class of 1925 with Clara Eldridge. Clara.

My grandmother. Daughter of Angie MacLennan who lost her life due to childbirth.  My grandmother who, when we stayed with her on Saturday evenings, never allowed us to view Mannix or Mission:Impossible, and other violent programs. As she would say, “you are not watching any violence.”

My reply would sometimes be, “but Nana, your friend, Gertie, watches Gunsmoke.” She would say, “I don’t care what she does, these are the rules in my house.” No guns. No violence. Nana, too, was a Republican.  She would be absolutely appalled at the Republicans today like Trump, Ron DeSantis, Rick Scott, McConnell, and yes, even Chris Christie of the state where she lived a good portion of her life, New Jersey.  Her mother, Angie MacLennan died in New Jersey when Nana was only about four years of age.  She had a cousin who was tortured in a Confederate prison, too, in Dixie. She had been born only about 30 years after the end of the American Civil War. So when Nana visited her (half) sister in Florida, she came back disgusted with Florida being the place where “everyone is going to find the fountain of youth and they don’t find it there.”  She NEVER returned to Dixie for the rest of her life, dying in 1982.  Her mother, my great-grandmother, could have lived longer and given birth to more children, had the option for an abortion been present in 1903.  It is disgusting to think there are really lousy people in America who don’t want to solve our problems and move forward, but to go back to those days. If you don’t want to do that, then they likely would take the lives of those who don’t wish to go along – like a “theocracy.” Atwood used this word tonight. A theocracy is autocratic and dictatorial. Does not anyone think our Founding Fathers were so intelligent, they attempted to avoid having a “theocracy” in America with words about religious freedom, “domestic tranquility” and so forth, in the U.S. Constitution.

Any lawyers who don’t point this out to the SCOTUS should have their license revoked.  That is how strongly I feel about this.

Anyone serving on the SCOTUS who does not think and consider STRONGLY aspects such as this (plus more) and perhaps they need to be executed, as Hitler did to his opposition. I say this to make a point, but I don’t advocate it.

Beyond that, the media needs to be stronger with the ideas which I have expressed here.

Thanks to Margaret Atwood. When I attempted to view the dramatization of her book, The Handmaid’s Tale, I was so shaken by it, I had the chills, and was not able to continue to watch it. I still get chills thinking bout it.  Just as with today’s polarization by idiots who believe they are Christians, I still get chills, whether it is from these idiots or what is described in the book.  Should I apologize for not being a “man” because I get chills from the book? OK. I am a human being. How about that? I am a human seeking human justice, human rights, human equality.  Liberty and justice for all. Don’t patronize me by twisting things to make it look like doing away with Roe v. Wade fits into this framework of human justice. Such people really do sicken me and make me want to vomit.

Amazing. 70% of the population DOES NOT WANT THE DESTRUCTION OF ROE v. WADE? Where is this 70% when it comes to elections and the Democrats speak out against such destruction? Where are they?

“Silence like a cancer grows.”
