The intent of this blog is to promote human equality, human progress, human peace and justice, and optimism. To accomplish this, to encourage the discussion of ideas after identifying and discovering problems, and then creating positive solutions for "we the people," in order to provide for the "general welfare" and "domestic tranquility" of America now and its "posterity" into the future. To encourage an emphasis on separation of religion and state for all, no matter if this is for those "of faith" in a Maker / Creator (Deists, God-loving people, Christians, various people of spirituality) and atheists or agnostics.

Groupthink & Media

My commentary, not op-ed, to PBS Washington Week producers.

I am trying to understand why there seems to be such a strong “undercurrent” within the people whom I communicate. After watching PBS Washington Week and considering the money I see donated to PBS and NPR by big oil tycoons, the Koch brothers, I am now beginning to understand.

The PBS programs appear to be in the gutter, avoiding good investigative journalism and relying on analysis of political ideas and the ideas of those who don’t support the fascist, John Birch, KKK agenda in America today. You don’t discuss this fascist agenda, perhaps because money comes to PBS from fascists like the Koch brothers and big oil?

Gasoline prices. They are actually lower, figuring for inflation over a long period of time, and in comparison to the inflation aspect of consumer earnings. I have the evidence. It was published in NEWSPAPERS but not in the broadcast media. Comparisons in terns of inflation, from the early 1950s to the oil embargo of the 1970s, to today. I READ NEWSPAPERS and PRINT COPY of periodicals. I could do without the junk mail in print copy, but we are FORCED by big fat pigs of corporations to accept the lack of printed NEWS and INFORMATION.

Inflation. Really no worse than it has been many times in history. But keep limiting information to being the worst. I have seen worst. Give us a long term HISTORICAL evidence this is the worst. Do a comparison to what the inflation was like under various political party leaderships over the past. Nixon and his proposals for “price controls.” Don’t just tell us how a FEW voters think about this. That is disgusting.

Dealing with inflation. There is newspaper info. with ideas about how to deal with inflation. But of course the technology industry, propped up by big oil and the fascists, is pushing a liberal agenda to stop reading newspapers. Yes. I said liberal.

And then the liberal agenda pushes the envelope in trying to maintain that, somehow, reading newspapers in digital form is going to save trees. Really? What saves trees is to stop ripping down the rain forests for development and not replacing those trees, such as what has happened in a South American nation now run by a vicious fascist. PLUS. The consideration that the more technology, computers, and mobile phones there are, the more electricity is consumed which brings pressure on the electricity infrastructure and its grid to produce more.

Does anyone actually believe the fascist agenda with Trump, Rick the Prick Scott, DeSatan, and others is truly going to change the scenario I identify above?

Rick the Prick inherited from Democrats a really lousy setup of PUP insurance for hurricane coverage in Florida. Did Rick the Prick make a change? Nah! He never made any change in this. What DID Rick the Prick do instead? Fought Obamacare because it goes against the egotistical narcissistic ways of Rick the Prick who made money from PRIVATIZATION of hospitals, where he plead the 5th numerous times when he was charged with stealing from Medicare. |

When Florida voters approved of a fast-speed rail system so as to save money over the long term and cut down on carbon emissions, why did Rick the Prick override the voters? Because he had his marching orders from the Koch brothers and others who insisted they wanted to continue to sell oil and to hell with other means of getting around it.

Those of us consumers and voters were screwed by Rick the Prick when he did this. Some of us invest in corporations which wish to do BOTH oil and alternative fuels. The Koch brothers ONLY want oil. So, in the name of the Koch brothers, Rick the Prick took his marching orders from vicious egotistical bastards who just MIGHT be giving support to PBS. And we the consumers who invested in real residential real estate along the route of that rail system were screwed as well.

Developers along that proposed rail route were screwed as well, while corrupt developers in Palm Beach, with house flippers, made out well with their corrupt practices while working with the banks. Who does real estate in Palm Beach County? Care to guess? The guy at Mar-a-Lago.

And the answer to this is, by the ideas of the fascists, to use coal and pollute more. Electricity in a Florida utility, I am told, is now concentrated with coal and gas while a less-polluting nuclear plant has been shut down. Not to endorse the ideas of nuclear, but there has been R&D work to improve the safety of producing nuclear. Where? in Europe, where the build rail systems.

The undertow of groupthink talk here is to put down electric vehicles, as if they are going to do bad things to the electric grid. What about the bad things being done to the grid when people are buried more in technology and not paying attention to their fellow human beings?

What is being described here is being done in the midst of this consumer groupthink undertow of information to push the idea that the local newspaper stop printing on paper. The anti-electric vehicle (anti-solar, anti-wind power, anti-hydro power) and pro-non-printing on paper is inconsistent in claiming, “the environment will be better.” According to this talk, solar is awful. Wind power is awful. But keep putting those newspapers out in digital form where consumers have to fight with the technology and pay higher costs just to get their newspapers and INFORMATION.

But no. The cost aspect is thrown at me by those who wish to defend what THEY want and never consider an overall COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS over the long term.

Liberals are just as bad in pushing the envelope too far. There are alternative biomass fuels which can LOWER carbon emissions in vehicles. But no That lack of PERFECTION and they reject those and dig in their heals ONLY for solar or wind power, etc. Methanol. Still has carbon emissions. But compare such fuels to gasoline emissions? Is it better? I believe it is. But only a theory on my part. We need the evidence from the media doing its job, not simply giving us analytical views of politics.

In a PURPLE America where we got along, the production of methanol fuels could be bolstered by people working with Iowa farmers, not the coal producers. Or by orange growers in Florida with “co-electric projects.” Corn and other agricultural products can be grown in the back yards of the Keystone project people in Pennsylvania. For the production of fuels with LOWER carbon emissions. Not zero carbon emissions, perhaps. LOWER carbon emissions than what we get with gasoline. Hybrid vehicles as a choice for consumers as we ease into electric vehicles. But no. Liberals are opposed to this just as much as the big fat pig fascist oligarchs of oil are opposed to electric vehicles, solar, wind, and other energy sources. Such fascists get supposedly good-thinking “red” Americans to stupidly line up behind them.

Even if someone like me did not care for George W. Bush, he pushed the idea of reduced carbon emission vehicles. I liked that. In one of his state of the union addresses, he pushed for the use of switch gas for biomass fuels. Why? Because, as he proposed this, he outlined how the fermentation process can be reduced. So where are the switch grass farms today, some 20 years later? We have the agricultural lands, but where are these farms and the corn farms today, for these purposes? Stifled by liberals who insist “we don’t have a perfect fuel, so let’s not do this because we wish to concentrate on ONLY the perfect energy sources with NO emissions.” Stupidity here , too, among the liberal groupthink. HOWEVER.

Where is the money today? In the hands of the liberals who are yelling and screaming their dissent? Or in the hands of the wealthiest at the top who insist there IS no climate change, so let us continue to use oil. For the future of our children and generations into the future, we need to stop this BS approach and work together. We need those of us who have invested in a more moderate approach to get us through these years and into the future. A STRATEGIC PLAN is missing because there is too much tugging of one way or the other just to see who comes out the winner. The WINNER needs to be our entire community of people in the great USA, into the future. What is the STRATEGIC PLAN to accomplish this goal? With the fighting and the turmoil, I have a problem detecting it.

It’s a PURPLE STRATEGIC PLAN, not a RED PLAN (fascists) or BLUE PLAN (liberals) which will determine our way forward, based on what we can learn from the past, not RE-LIVE the past, as the stupidity of MAGA, QAnon, and others propose.

The reason the Koch brothers and other big fat pigs in the oligarchs push for Trump, Rick the Prick Scott, and DeSatan is really simple to see. So why is the media not projecting this? Is PBS getting support from the Koch brothers, so ignores this simple thing?

Governor Lawton Chiles, of Florida (and a person people hoped would be president in 2000), filed a lawsuit which brought down big tobacco in the USA. He filed this lawsuit with several other states, due to the cost the states had to endure in helping their citizens with lung cancer due to smoking tobacco. The costs were staggering, according to a report by journalist and lung cancer suffering Peter Jennings. Chiles won the lawsuit.

The vicious fat pigs of North Carolina relented by taking over the electric utility where Chiles had served on the board of directors. With thousands of other Florida employees, I lost my job due to the strategic plans of those fat pigs. A plan implemented slowly and over time and gives us much of what we have today

I am just supposed to shut up about this, due to the benefits I had following the layoff. But I won’t. Because much of what the fat pigs like Jeb Bush, Rick the Prick and DeSatan did in the interim between layoff and retirement was to screw me even more. I speak of this, in site of the wonderful career I had. I could have had more in retirement. That is a statement made because their are stupid asses who vote for the fascist Republicans who wish to bring down the Medicare and Social Security systems for which I rely on after Rick the Prick Scott and others destroyed some of my retirement investments in Florida, among other things.

These oligarchic fools don’t have the right to do that just because they have money and they need to be called on it. Where is the media to do this laying these people on the carpet? By the first words in the Constitution, WE THE PEOPLE, these fools don’t have a right to do this. Just by those simple words alone. They believe that what is good for the oligarchs is good for the nation. BS on that.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Power which takes into consideration more than a minority of people called white people is a corrupt power and tries to move towards the “absolute power which corrupts absolutely.” Koch brothers, John Birch, KKK are all corrupt and their absolute power corrupts we the people absolutely.

I have heard by hearsay from a person married to a white apartheid-loving anti-Mandela person from South Africa, that the tobacco companies have moved operations to South Africa. So, that makes that lawsuit by Lawton Chiles so bad that they had to murder Lawton Chiles and make it look like something else? Rather than build better “American mousetraps” (as has been a good example of America), we embolden white supremacists out of their closet of hiding their racism and cry foul when things are not as foul as these people make things to appear?

The only speculation I can make is that we have a lousy media today taking their cue from the money of the Koch brothers, Rupert Murdoch, and other oligarchic robber barons of the 21st Century. A media which does not follow what Peter Jennings did with his reports about big tobacco and the lawsuits which benefited society overall (according to the Peter Jennings reports). A media which will identify and bring out of the closet the vicious fascists today, rather than just reporting everything as if we as normal today as the era of the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, etc.

What does the media propose to do? What analysis based on strategic plans for the sake of WE THE PEOPLE does the media intend to present? Anything? Because I don’t see it and have to wonder why? I say, WHY NOT?

Economy, Inflation, Gasoline, Oh MY!

Washington Week, Oct. 21, 2022

My factual commentary, not an opinion editorial (op-ed).

First of all, this is no way for contacting you – by form. I despise it. Same thing with social media. It’s all about the opinions in short messages. I object. A person whose funeral was celebrated in the past two weeks, reminded us by way of her eulogy, that using technology and phones was so un-human when considering we no longer talk face-to-face. Thumbs thumbs thumbs and not speaking with one another.

Now I have that out of the way, the reason for me contacting you.

On your program last night (Fri., Oct. 21), your analysts proved once again how media concentrates on analyzing opinions, not providing the facts. As on a one-time television program, the police detective said, “just the facts, ma’am, just the fax.” The character of Perry Mason said, “I am not interested in your opinion, only the evidence.” You use opinions as evidence far too much. Those two television series were models for the American public in the 1950s and 1960s, as reading by Americans declined (according to George Will).

Recently, a wonderful actress named Angela Lansbury died. In her series after the time period I describe above, she would often say, “I have a theory, but I need the evidence.”

I ask you wonderful media people, with due respect, why do you constantly analyze the opinions of people and never look for evidence to support such people. Where did the opinions of voters, brought forward last night, derive? From surveys? From just a few voters? Where did those opinions about issues derive?

Recently, in waiting for my car in a detailing shop, I waited some two hours in a bar. I was not drinking, but just needed to get a soda and burger to eat and the establishment was the closest for walking. Just to clarify because I rarely visit bars.

Perhaps I should visit bars more often. Because what I heard spoken by the people (mostly men, but a woman, too) was this. How lousy healthcare in America was, particularly focused on one PRIVATE local healthcare unit. I never heard one thing about the “bail issue in NY.” That “bail issue” lying commercial was prevalent – from the Republicans. Lies in the commercials. Not one word was spoken about any of the other issues for which Republicans in New York are lying so as to gain votes. Hitler’s Goebbels: “tell a lie so many times that it becomes fact.”

Never once do I ever hear the media of any kind speak about what is happening with regard to lies. Just presentation of analysis of the various opinions, even some voters. Just the facts, ma’am. Just the TRUTH, ma’am. And in the process, your remarks do nothing but scare voters away from the polls.

Last night, you had a clip of the debated between Stacey Abrams and Kemp of Georgia. Kemp was quoted as saying (paraphrased) that he made the voting registration process in Georgia an online system easier to use. Beg your pardon? You broadcast that piece of information and later last night, I get a call from a person who recently moved from Florida to Georgia. He described the voter registration, online, as being a nightmare, so he did not do it. There goes one vote from Abrams, whom he likes a great deal.

My bet is that it is now too late for this person to register for the upcoming election in which he favors Stacey Abrams. Every vote counts. So, I suggested he vote absentee in Florida since his address is still in Florida and he would vote for Charlie Crist rather than Ron DeSantis. Every vote counts.

Instead, this person reminded me of what it was like to vote absentee in Florida. He lived at a residence far from where he was attending college. It was a nightmare. I recall when I turned 18 in upstate NY, living at college but my primary residence being my home some four hours from college, doing absentee ballots then and finding it to be far less complex than what Florida made it, for the sake of the Republicans. More Democrats in the state of Florida, yet somehow the Republicans win and have a one-party state there.

Where is the historical evidence when discussing inflation and gas prices? There were many times of inflation in my life. We never pointed at the government.

Gas prices today are equal to about what they where 50 years ago (1973) during the time of the oil embargo. Historical economics evidence speaks mountains. First of all, if people would read newspapers, an op-ed columnist wrote about how, on the basis of inflation over the LONG TERM, the prices of gasoline today are lower than in the early 1950s when there was a gas increase and LOWER THAN the prices during the oil embargo, WHEN ADJUSTED FOR LONG-TERM INFLATION. Look at the salaries of the big oil conglomerate oligarchs today, compared to those earlier years? Did you do that? No. I know that oligarchic salaries since the 1970s have increased 1000% or more today. Even the salaries of workers paying for the gasoline are higher and give them a higher earnings level than those during the oil embargo (but not as much as 1000%).

The SAME PEOPLE who gave us the oil embargo are the problem today. Trump and big oil of Texas LOVE the Saudis. Trump and big oil LOVE Putin and the Russians. Putin is a by-product of those years during the oil embargo.

Did this historical evidence ever get revealed last night? Not once did I hear such examples. Instead, we heard the presentation of opinions on the side of “what the voters are saying.” Does it ever behoove media to present historical evidence which might show these voters being mesmerized by the very people who are the cause of the problem – Trump and his cronies, big oil, and the remnants of OPEC? What is presented is stupid people too easily mesmerized by lies who are snotty brats moaning and groaning like a bunch of spoiled brats.

I say this because in the years of the oil embargo and high gasoline, we came together more often to do something. We did NOT point fingers at a president or the government, due to the oil problem. We did not look at handouts from a government. How many times did I take my 4-hour trip to college in the cars of other parents other than my own? Car pooling on our own, not done by a government. How many times, when I purchased my OWN car, did I share rides with other college students (four of us to be exact) on the 4-hour drive to college and back? I saved those parents the gas money for each of four potential car loads of students. My parents never paid me for the gas. I would sometimes receive some cash from some of the riders, but I never insisted on it.

There were others who did the same thing. Voluntary car pooling. No one FORCED us to do it. Some did the car pooling from Long Island to the college, typically a six to eight hour trip. Some rode the bus.

We used different modes of transportation Only after a few years did some local governments set up car pooling options for the residents. AFTER the years we car pooled. Had electric or hybrid cars been available, we would have rejoiced. Big oil is trying to sabotage that and captures the stupid imaginations of too many stupid people.

The other thing about last night’s broadcast. Never mentioning the accomplishments of President Biden and the Democrats, except to brush them off with no analysis of WHAT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. Unemployment is down and has been reduced since President Biden took office. That should shoot holes into the lies of Oz in Pennsylvania, based on big oil, when discussing a Keystone project. “Loss of jobs.” OH? And what about the increase in jobs in the economy which has caused a lowering of unemployment? In other words, it’s lousy to lower unemployment but boy is it lousy that there is a lack of jobs due to – Keystone – offshore drilling in Florida, etc., etc. etc.

And then to hear some dwell on the reason to be against electric vehicles is the unfunded mandates for putting such vehicles in public transit. I have seen Republicans do unfunded mandates MANY, MANY, MANY times – to the detriment of public education. Don’t notice these people who are whiners complaining about those unfunded mandates which cause the taxes for public education to increase.

As for inflation, those of us who lived through inflationary periods have a great deal to teach, but are being shut down by the listeners of false information – from Fox News. how many times have I tried to take the opportunity to TEACH (my career was teaching) and other on the “red” side of the coin simply talk over me and not allow me to say one thing? My only way to say anything is writing, as in this example. But the media makes it more difficult to get published, with short snippy little tweets full of emotions and opinions, not the facts.

And who reads newspapers, right? Those of us who don’t like what I describe here which happened in last night’s Washington Week. The rest of the snotty young spoiled brats don’t read newspapers. Yet, in the newspapers of LOCAL INFORMATION and so forth, we have read information explaining how to overcome inflation. Instead, the Republican jerks of America rely on the fact that people don’t read such information and wisdom of age and inspire these brats against the government of Joe Biden and the Democrats. People who are NOT PERFECT, but have a record of doing some good things to counter what has been happening. The good things apparently are being BURIED by the strategies of lies and emotions emanating from a Republican Party leadership. Thus, these bastards LOVE it that we don’t come together as a nation and figure out how we can all deal with the inflation. They just expect someone to fix it.

When I was recently in a grocery store and looking for short ribs for a recipe I came across, the prices of short ribs exceeded $10 per pound. WOW! I was not going to pay that price. Sometimes, due to the cost, the stores just did not stock that meat.

When speaking with a human being called a butcher (at the store), it was suggested to me there is a less expensive cut of beef I could consider using to replace the short ribs. It was still on the expensive side, but it was worth considering. My thanks to human beings like that on the supply side who can help those of us on the demand side of a capitalist market, during these days of turmoil.

Yes, these examples are from the Middle Class. Yes, there is some suffering in the Middle Class. But so far, it has been Republicans who have worked to decrease the opportunities for people to live in the Middle Class, hoping to have “trickle-down economics” to all who become slaves and more impoverished. It has already been happening. Jack Walsh of GE, an anti-LGBTQ bigot, destroying the pensions of employees, leaving them with higher risk individual retirement accounts, while he and others have been corrupt and unethical in taking all the money for their bonuses and the 1000% increase they have gained since the 1970s. Many other CEOs, in particular big oil and the Koch brothers, have worked for the same results. Hording money at the top and denying it, but in a trickle, to the bottom, while private business and privatization have increased the costs for us in the Middle Class.

Did your media folks even delve into this issue? Not. Once again. Analyzing opinions only.

Mortgage rates. 3% in the 1950s when our parents purchased homes. 12% and 13% when we attempted to purchase a home in the 1980s. This was done under the REPUBLICANS who had PROMISED to reduce the interest rates. In 1982, under Reagan, 12%. In 1988 under George H.W. Bush, about 10 or 11% – still double figures.

Promises, promises, promises so as to only blame Democrats and unseat Democrats by not fulfilling the promises they likely COULD NOT fulfill. Those Republicans only delivered for FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYERS, not those who had already owned a home. Historical evidence, once again. Those of us who had already purchased homes at the high rates did not see relief into the single digits until Democrat, Bill Clinton. Meanwhile, Reagan and the Republicans had won over the YOUNGER Baby Boomers who were the first-time home buyers. It was such people and younger who are the mean-spirited and vicious ones defending Republicans today, with their bratty spoiled attitudes, especially when things don’t go their way. They own huge acreage and more than what i can afford on a teacher’s salary and still wish to ask for more. Just like Ebeneezer Scrooge and the LOVE OF MONEY and MATERIALISM, before human beings.

Today, the fault with high housing prices and a possible head to high interest rates has been caused by Republican bank buddies, flipping of homes and corruption in selling new homes in new developments (particularly in Florida, as written by investigative LOCAL NEWS reporters, backed by librarians doing research, in the early 2000s). All of this opened the doors for corporate slum lords to move in to purchase homes and FORCE the people of Florida to rent rather than the “American dream” of house ownership for the LONG TERM. (And Suze Oman validates this with “the new American dream,” so as to make young folk feel better about all of this, rather than rid us of the thieves of business who are doing this – robber barons. What a joke).

And then there is the complaint by some regarding how President Biden is following precedence with the Chinese and taxes. Such spoiled brats are irritating and obnoxious because they ignore the ideas of the use of infrastructure development to light a fire under development of the U.S. semi-conductor industry. Why would he do such a thing? Because the semi-conductor industry is based in Taiwan, China realizes this, and intends to take over the nation. You think the tax situation with China is bad? Think about what would happen should all semi-conductors be made by THE COMMUNIST CHINESE. Better yet, think about coming to the defense of Taiwan and what that would entail. Give up our rights in America for the sake of averting war? Go to hell.

Again. Why did your media folk not go into what I have mentioned? Why do you not interject the facts and just concentrate on analyzing opinions? WHY? Unless this is changed, it will be the downfall of American democracy. Makes me wonder who is TRULY paying for the media in America today.

“Purple mountain majesty…” America the Beautiful. It does not read, “red mountain majesty…” It does not read, “blue mountain majesty…” It reads PURPLE, a combination of red and blue. How appropriate. How interesting that this portrays a beautiful America, a nation which SHOULD be working together for the betterment of this beautiful land, not scoffing and scarring those who are trying to do so. Working against one another, rather than blasting one another with guns, ammunition and “the bombs bursting in air…”

It is said that the most popular song played by the U.S. Marine Corps band is NOT the “Star Spangled Banner,” but “Stars and Stripes Forever.” Not “stars and bars,” which is the symbol of a certain battle flag. I suppose we can see that the later one is a verse with words that rhyme. Rhyme has nothing to do with the words we use, in this case, because the only rhyme or harmony, in this example, is inclusive only to white supremacists.

Let us work together for beating inflation and gasoline prices, not argue for one side or the other. Such ways are an abomination against democracy, supported by Satan and the Evil Spirit.

Lying Commercials Against Democrats – Liar, Liar Pants on Fire

It is against the law to speak hateful things by lying about a candidate.  Those who want to lie are the ones who defend this practice.  They, too, like Trump supporters or Giuliani lie.

Giuliani is credited with bringing law and order to New York City.  Perhaps he did. Perhaps he did not.  There has to be substantial evidence.  I don’t find that evidence, especially if he put more people in jail as being the method used.

Jeb Bush of Florida, as well as so many others, love to privatize everything.  He privatized the prisons of Florida.  Therefore, the companies running them have to make a profit by making certain more people go to jail.  They hold the system against many people, particularly black folk.  It has been proven.  There is evidence of this.  The very fact that the profit motive exists is a very important bit of evidence.

When I write about how commercials which lie against Democrats is wrong, I do so to show that this is a democracy. But also that there is no evidence that Democrats are “extreme liberal and dangerous.”  There is no evidence of this.  The commercials underlying hidden agenda is a white supremacist message.  When it is a hidden agenda, that is very difficult to prove with evidence.  But I know.  I have been involved with seeking the truth.

Democrats want law and order.  Democrats want law and order according to human justice and justice for all.  By pushing the lies, one pushes to oppress one race by another.  Under the guise of law and order, the only issue here is that the law and order is according to fascist white supremacist law and order.  This has been proven over and over and over and over and over again.  By black folk who have been targeted too often, even while being innocent of a crime.  When such oppression exists, what does one expect from those being oppressed?

The words for law and order can also be put this way:  be firm but fair.  Just because there are Democrats who have found this to be true does not indicate they are “dangerous.”

Furthermore, once I began writing this message against lies in commercials, I have noticed several issues here.

(1) the only person writing a response to me made a false claim that it is legal to allow lying and hate speech.  To me, that person is a fascist who defends lying.  Hitler, admired by Donald Trump, had a propaganda minister who said, “tell a lie enough times and it eventually becomes the truth” (estimating the EXACT words).  People can lie by taking information out of context and applying it to situations.  This “taking out of context” is a tool many have noticed which is used by fascists.  Where are the others who may read what I write and seek the truth?

(2) I began writing about this issue while watching Spectrum streaming and complaining that I pay for Spectrum streaming, so I object to having to pay for lies in commercials.  How does a guilty party and stalker handle what I wrote? By putting the commercials on a free channel.  The commercials on that free channel did not exist prior to me writing my objections about the commercials on pay TV.  Free broadcast TV, as America once had, is also one way communication.  When receiving these channels by means of the two-way functions of the Internet and suddenly, those who do the commercials have free reign to spy on American citizens and respond accordingly.  One way is to use mockery of the person who stands up, trying to seek the truth.  I would wager that, since these commercials began on my free access channel, that I am being stalked by the likes of those who proclaim, ‘law and order,” when in fact they are breaking the law by spying on our watching, reading, and listening activities.  Don’t have the proof, except that only stalkers do this and that is truly illegal, but the “law and order” people refuse to stop that. Instead, they feel guilty so go after Democrats who speak “law and order” as not being oppressive to a group of people, but to provide, “liberty, and justice for all.”

I know, too, about stalkers who physically stalk and act in a vicious manner towards a group of people called LGBTQ.  Such stalking removes the ability for those who love life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  If a statement of “Goddamn America” is taken out of context (which it was), then Take mine out of context.  Goddamn an America which would allow the stalkers, hate-mongers, and liars of America to have control over our lives.

Money-loving Oligarchs of America are Traitors

Amazon. A river in Brazil, is it not? The home of a Brazilian dictator these days. The home where the rain forests were destroyed so as to create global warming. Perhaps one should shut up, right? One has to wonder about all of the connections here between all that is being identified.

Amazon. Prime. Notice the increasing number of trucks on the road? That is wonderful because we are able to get the products delivered which are in low supply in the stores. Low supply. Centralized economics like the “former” Soviet Union. A former KGB agent from the “former” Soviet Union. Centralized supply-side economics like a communist state and proclaiming as Karl Marx did, that capitalism was at fault when really, it was not a true capitalism which was to blame even in the time of Karl Marx, but it was supply-side economics crapping with manure on the demand side of the markets.

Is this what we accept?

News tip tonight from “Newsy,” a short clip. That FedEx is suffering financially. Then the opinion with no challenge. “It’s the economy.” It’s the economy? So the central supply-side economics can blame President Biden. Economy? Is it not possible that it is Amazon Prime delivery which is putting FedEx out of business? The economy? Who the hell’s opinion is that? The opinion of Jeff Bezos? The opinion put forth by Jeff Bezos so as to get Republicans elected to Congress? The economy? BULLSHIT.

Amazon commercial. Telling us how great Amazon is by training its employees for what? Technology. A world of technology and no concern for the needs of the demand side of the market, plus sending all the other necessary jobs overseas with the help of NAFTA. With the help of George H.W. Bush who pushed NAFTA originally. With the help of George H.W. Bush who threw the American auto industry and the UAW under the bus at trade talks with Japan. How much did George H.W. Bush really do in WWII to defend this nation against Japan and Tojo?

As for the auto industry pushed under the bus, you must read what Lee Iacocca has to say about that after witnessing this happening while at the the trade talks in Japan and George H.W. Bush puked afterwards. Read about it in Lee Iacocca’s book. But no. Let me not give the title because no Americans will read it anyway, will they? As they are mesmerized with the opiate of the masses – television with its screwball programs today and violence with blood all over the screen. Why? Why do these people put such crap on the screen? And don’t tell me money because there was a time when money could be made and we did not have bloody manure on the screen in such a prevalent way.

For me, my 40 to 50 years of experience in education, finding the needs of the community, including leaders of companies in some cases, tells me that there are many needs of the demand side of the market which are necessary and they ain’t technology, either. Electrical. Plumbing. EMTs. Fire men and women. Police. Tool and die.

The list goes on and on. These skills, plus the products and services necessary for our communities, are not being implemented in our society.

Add to that people who work to help other human beings, such as teachers, professors, nurses, healthcare workers, rehab workers (to help those who become addicted to many things).

We in education know what is necessary to meet the needs of the demand side of the market and find that every human can play a role; that it’s not just about sending everyone to college or training everyone for technology. Lawyers running educational institutions because Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis and others put them there, don’t know one damn thing about what it takes to educate for the future, so they wish to use the strategy to create training only related to technology. Change to technology for the sake of change, creation of slaves and sweat shops, and creating deep pockets filled with tons of money for lovers of money in the supply-side Reaganomics money-loving greed, self-centeredness, narcissistic ploys and strategies.

That math is not about forever solving for quadratic equations, but it is the role of learning quadratic equations which can develop the human brain which is only a small portion of it for which Americans are using these days. Or that the arts may not be done by pure music or art literacy (playing an instrument, singing, painting or sculpting), because not all are able to do so and sometimes do not have an interest. Instead, Art INFORMATION literacy so as to develop the parts of the brain which are ignored. Whole brain development, not right brain or left brain exclusively.

Then these supply-side Reaganomics people push for people like Susie Orman to make people feel better with instructions about “the change in the American dream.” That is not the bullshit I want my kids to have. I want my kids to be able to purchase their own home, not to be shoved off into ghettos of homes like in big cities, herded into urban areas like a bunch of animals. No wonder the supply chain has been gutted and local broadcasting and newspapers for rural folk have been intentionally gutted. So they give up and move to the city. In this process, we can all live happily forever, right? Like robots only in a city / urban environment, doing as the greedy fat pig oligarchs say we should all do.

Bezos owns the Washington Post. His former company, Amazon, is putting businesses like FedEx out of business. Yet, with all the Amazon Prime trucks I see, the newspapers COULD be delivered by Amazon Prime trucks. But they are not.

Instead, the fat pigs of money-loving oligarchs are trying to figure out a way to stop delivery of news print, with no concern for the demand side which still wants it. Money is not the reason. Money-loving fat pig SOBs are the reasons.

The deliberate strategy for a number of years has been to get rid of one source for local INFORMATION which has been provided by newspapers. Flash it on channel 12 so we have to take a quick look. NOW. Be quick about it when getting a pen and paper out to write it down because POOF and it’s gone.

Directories of information? Google has become a lousy search engine which dredges up shit paid for by money-loving fat pigs FIRST and not the core of necessary INFORMATION to answer a question. Search engines to find according to what we type. If we don’t know what to type, no directory of local information of any kind for which we can BROWSE through the newspaper for the necessary information.

And consider the shitty way humans are being trained so as to scoff at someone who wants to learn and asks questions. And this is happening at all ages, not just the ones who have been trained by thumbing a cell phone keyboard. The only stupid question is one never asked. But we are getting non-human beings who consider questions asked to be stupid, even when someone is trying to learn something and gain wisdom.

Or to scoff at human beings and shoot holes in what they say and never consider and THINK about what is being said. After all, we need to move lightning fast, like watching a TV screen when information is provided and … get it quickly… or else you are a dumb turd.

It is sicko and perverted. No wonder George H.W. Bush vomited at the banquet in Japan when he negotiated that Japanese cars could be sold in America, but made no means to open the doors of Japan to American cars. And don’t give me the damn answer that America could not sell the cars in Japan because you are a dumb ass who does not realize how, when America has needed to step up to the task, it does. If you shoot holes in what I say in this regard, then you are nothing but a traitor to America. Bush must have felt so guilty that he puked in Japan. And it’s the American people who have suffered, not the fat pig robber baron narcissistic self-centered greedy money-loving oligarch club.

Lies

Screw you, Spectrum, and your advertising people for allowing lies.  The ad about criminal bail and Josh Riley is a lie.  Would it not be necessary to provide proof of what is being said in an advertisement, before airing the lies?  It has been an attack against Josh Riley and Gov. Hochul.  The same lies.  Why don’t you figure out where Democrats TRULY stand on the issue of defunding police, before putting lies before the public that the Democrats do.  Because I can give proof of Republicans who have defunded police and Democrats are more rare.  But I have the evidence and the proof.  Republicans apparently think they are above the law when they point out these lies as if they are the only “law and order people.” Yet, when Republicans break the law, these “law and order” piss poor ones suddenly throw aside the talk of “law and order.”

The example of this sort of attitude is not within Trump’s political life, but before, when he called the Emmy Award not given to him but to another as being the result of “fraud.”

Then there is your own commercial.  “Let people know whether the people they send to Congress represent them.”  Something to this effect.  This, from a company which allows lies about a congressional candidate named Josh Riley. Surprise but the lying commercial followed Spectrum’s own commercial about how good Spectrum is about getting that “correct information to their listeners.”  Timing is everything, as I learned from a fascist-thinking Roman Catholic football coach.  Good example here with the timing of a commercial after Spectrum’s own commercial.

Perhaps the Spectrum commercial should mention that they do better than the lies spread by Fox Commentary which inspires the lies of the commercial against Josh Riley.  I guess Spectrum ignored what President Biden said in his State of the Union Address, explaining that Democrats are do NOT stand against law and order and endorse defunding of police.  I repeat.  I have seen many Republicans who have worked to defund police, but I don’t use this as a means of blaming ALL Republicans because that would be as much of a lie as the one that ALL Democrats want to defund the police.  You SOBs supporting Hitler and Mussolini (Trump and Giuliani) fascism in America.

Spectrum, with your robber baron bosses stop their fornication of lies and forcing supply-side Reaganomics down our throats. Shall I use the magic word?  PLEASE.

Capitalist Supply & Demand & I Won’t Back Down From Demanding the DEMAND Side with Newspapers

Speaking to people in defense of keeping print copies of newspapers available, I have made a pretty good case in defense of the DEMAND SIDE of the market which has been deliberately curtailed by big fat pigs at the top with a love for money narcissistic and self-centered attitude who simply wish to line their pockets with a USA Today approach like Pravda of Moscow and not considering other aspects about how they can make money with PRINT copies of newspapers.  They DELIBERATELY began to remove the one unique thing which sold newspapers and kept circulation numbers up.  I have been validated with reports from the broadcast media and other sources.  These are not just NEWSpapers, but local NEWS & INFORMATION papers.  These are UNIQUE to local newspapers as the Mustang is to the Ford Corporation.  Would Ford DELIBERATELY get rid of a product which is unique and put in place something which like USA Today and tell all the local people to go to hell and just read USA Today online.

Because that is what is being shoved down the faces of the demand side of what is SUPPOSED to be a truly capitalist market (not supply side Reaganomics which is NOT capitalism and almost as bad as centrally-controlled government of communists in the Soviet Union) the ultimate result is a destruction of

    • LOCAL REVIEWS OF LOCAL POLITICAL CANDIDATES so as to keep people informed and not just listening to the BULLSHIT from news media which agrees and MIGHT NOT be the TRUTH; RESULT of such media? a population which is so stupid they cannot differentiate from right and wrong and digs in its heals with by maintaining the stupidity and a lack of knowledge; what is missing is the ability for people to know what is going on locally in POLITICS, whether at the village, town, county, city, or state

All in this list plus MORE than what is in this list.  The news & INFORMATION, not spread all over so as to search with a lousy Google search engine.

When the demand side of capitalism answers the way the big fat pigs with mansions hope they would do – stop reading the new versions of what are called local  newspapers, they stop reading and search other sources where they are not TAUGHT but just look for what is in agreement. Yippee!  Then the fat pigs of supply-side newspaper industry Reaganomics can say, “look —— NO ONE IS READING NEWSPAPERS!”  Bullshit.  When you take away the sections and parts which sold newspapers, no one WANTS to read them.  No surprise.  The fat pigs are doing this to the newspaper industry so they can fill their GODDAMN pockets more than others and don’t have to figure out a way to lower overhead or other means.  Ask me.  I have a few suggestions for lowering overhead.  But these bastard pigs modeled after Putin refuse to listen.

How many times do I get dildo heads who stand up for this supply-side Reaganomics?  All the time.  And I get insulted by such people.  Those who are wealthier than the rest of us simply defending the wealthy and using facts about how circulation has declined.  Of course it has declined.  When the content is condensed, why would it not decline?  Even if The New York Times DOES NOT condense its content, people are NOT being taught to read to learn, but to read to be entertained, as a result of those newspapers which DO condense the LOCAL news.  Besides, The New York Times is not just local but is a better national style news than any of the others, especially on Sundays.  They might have a large market of digital-loving bastards who want technology for the sake of change.  But they don’t take into account the ones who don’t want to go to the trouble and expense of maintaining the freaking technology which is like a little baby, needing constant attention and resources.  The New York Times in print and all we have to do is sit down and read it, not spend most of our time trying to figure out a technology and Internet which is very low quality and lacks any intuitive ways because computers and the ones providing such to the consumers are stupid.  And with gray hard-to-read lettering and really lousy brightness, besides the size of the print, one has to try to face a technology which sucks because it lacks any intuitive ways about it.  Setting up device XYZ12334555.  Or IP SHOCHOIJS10320kpf;jsakljoip.  What the hell is all that supposed to mean to consumers?  Go f yourselves with that bullshit, especially for those of us who are visually impaired and have one more impediment to it all and no one willing to service and maintain such device on the Internet  and on a regular basis.  More people are scammers out there with their hacking and sniper-based cowardly way just to see how well they can trip up the demand side of the market.  This is a barbaric picture of people who don’t give ONE DAMN about one another in America.  They don’t CARE and simply scoff at those of us who complain.  Or ask, “are you ok?” At the time we complain.  YES.  I AM OK.  IT IS THE GODDAMN non-human devices which are NOT OK and the fat pigs who push their national news on us in digital form and with no concern about the demand side of the market because they could no longer earn their GODDAMN money by sitting on their buttes in a lazy fashion.

My newsprint costs

  • Sunday newsprint newspapers: $494.00 annually
  • Newspapers five or six days of week: $680.00 annually
    • Total: $1174.00 (without delivery, add the freaking gasoline costs a consumer might have: $300.00 (est.)

My technology costs

  • Technology maintenance & replacement: $500.00 annually
  • Internet and phone. About $3000.00 annually
  • Printing & scanning costs: cartridges & paper, etc.:  $300.00 (est.) annually
  • Other costs est. at $200.00
  • Time resource to print ONE article from The New York Times or the Washington Post (etc.) lacks an intuitive touch, perhaps due to the freaking lawyers funneling and wanting to protect royalties, salivating at finding another way to make money with nickel and dime approaches. Compare this to clipping and printing newspaper copy on a copying machine.  Less time in attempting to learn the lack of intuitive approach to do what is needed – with print newspaper. The lack of an intuitive approach to scanning or printing digital copies and no reasonable comparison to copying the newsprint, except the cost of paper and cartridges.  Freaking lawyers in the newspapers disgust the consumer because they probably don’t like the fact that some individual in a household is copying for THEIR OWN personal use what comes from a print newspapers.  Their greedy, money-loving narcissistic self-centered eyes widen with dollar signs from digital.
  • Constant problems and time spent on fixing problems of technology: 4 to 6 hours in one day’s time, with no assistance (would pay) for regular examination of the problems, while those in the cliques get their own private help and don’t wish to share it
    • Total est. annually for digital:  $4000.00

Digital itself costs almost four times as much.  Almost 2/3 more for the digital.  Add to that the additional times for buffering which is comparable to a 1950s vacuum tube television startup time, plus other problems which are CONSTANT, not just isolated – some est. to be from sniping types of hackers who are nothing but cowards and don’t get stopped by law enforcement which might be more interested in treating those in the black community in a lousy manner.

Meanwhile, the consumers are being screwed. Some behind the cash register complain in stupidity about the price of $6.00 for a newspaper.  Look at these costs and compare these costs outlined above.

And the insulting of me for complaining about being FORCED into reading digitally.  No concern for fellow human beings, but just thinking from their own narrow perspective of life:  me, me, me, and that’s all.  One who states, with blinders on, “her perspective,” knows more about the lack of readers of newspapers than I do who can outline a very wide perspective about this isse, but get insulted instead.

Others with wealth who insult me.  Perhaps favoring the legal system.  Perhaps defending the system to which one works with technology and wants technology for the sake of change (me, me, me) and does not wish to acknowledge those of us who find CONSTANT and CONTINUOUS problems and expenses of technology and are not WEALTHY enough to spend the money nor the time resources on this, preferring reading the newsprint instead.  We are insulted by such people who call themselves Americans.  But if they think they are friends, who needs enemies?  We would ask for assistance, but the ball is still in our court unless such people live with us.  Not sure such people wish to do that.  Narcissistic money-loving self-centered asses who don’t give one damn about their fellow human beings.  Freak such people with narrow perspectives and blinders.

Local news broadcasts in one-half hour?  Great for some small minded people who don’t want to learn what is going on.  How many items in the list of local news and information entities above.

There are solutions to this so as to make this a consideration of true capitalist supply AND demand, but no one wishes to consider anything but freaking lousy ideologies with the spinning of a false sense of what capitalism is about by anti-communist jerks on the supply-side Reaganomics fat pigs at the top.

Solutions:

  • Save newsprint by using tabloid sizes
  • Offer free copies of newspapers at schools, colleges and universities; I have witnessed college students reading newspapers under such conditions; the fat pigs may not be able waddle as much with loaded pockets, but such an increase in circulation can help bolster advertising rates
  • Offer lower prices to consumers who purchase subscriptions for print copies and don’t want the digital (perhaps the GODDAMN sports industry had ought to differentiate between on-demand sports such as football or baseball, rather than a subscription, as was done at one time with attendance at live games; another pet peeve of mine)
  • Have delivery people at busy intersections with newspapers at a very low cost – ANYTHING to increase circulation which is the driving force behind advertising.  More circulation, more readership for which advertisers can benefit and be willing to pay decent prices for the advertising
  • Garage and yard sale kits for placing classified ads
  • Other free offers for placing advertising

The problem with such solutions?  The fat pigs don’t care whether they can lower overhead, just to fill their pockets in easy ways and without having to deal with overhead.  They don’t earn money the old fashioned way because they expect to take money in any way possible, like a Trumpster who needs to be in a dumpster and carried away.

The demand-side consumers will purchase the newspapers, should the local content not be condensed in such manner as what has happened want a source of local news AND information which brings local news and information in ONE SPOT, not sprawled all over the Internet and a search engine.  It is also easier to go through the white pages of a phone directory, rather than the stupidity of search engines which are designed to pull names and addresses of those who are wealthy and pay at the beginning of a search result list.  Again.  Based on freaking lousy supply-side Reaganomics, not true supply and demand capitalism.  If someone objects to my pointing out true capitalism of supply and demand are lousy humans who likely prefer centralized communism or any anti-capitalist idea beneficial to wealthy pigs.  They are stupid people.

I will continue to be adamant and stand my ground against any form of supply-side Reaganomics which is truly Hitler-style business which we don’t need in America.  I will not tolerate insults from stupid and sometimes wealthy people who don’t give a damn about my own desires which make my life happy,  as well as the lives of countless others.  So, Gannett, you can screw in your laziness to eliminate print copy deliveries.  I have offered to help deliver newspapers from another newspaper, as they advertised the need for delivery persons.  I have YET to hear back, so they can all go screw themselves, as well as those who insult me by DICTATING what we Americans SHOULD be receiving in digital.  Go screw and go to h-e-double hockey sticks – by putting them where the sun don’t shine – and that might be in a coffin.  How dare people insult me.  How dare they do that to provoke anger, mockery, and taunting.  This is my country, too, and I demand the freedoms we have with SUPPLY AND DEMAND capitalist considerations.  I am serious about this and find no one to have proof that we MUST have digital.  You have no proof, except the words of money-loving narcissists only.

The Book Thief

Dear Editors:

As a librarian, I think the librarian who burned books about Trump needs to read a book titled, The Book Thief. For the book describes book burning and  censorship in Hitler’s Germany. When we do the same thing Hitler did, we stoop to that low level of barbarism.

With this being said, it also applies to the same barbarism of Ron Desantis of Florida.

This also applies to the Bible thumping fundies in Florida who wanted books removed from library shelves in Florida because they were about sex, homosexuality and other topics in opposition to fundie supposed Christian ideas.

To deal with this issue, a Florida library colleague provides us with a good example. When a group of fundies from a Southern Baptist group visited the librarian’s public library, they insisted that any books discussing sex be removed. The librarian did no burning. Instead, she picked up a number of Bibles and threw them in a trash can. “There. I have complied with your wishes.” They were flabbergasted and walked out.

Book burning and censorship are stooping to very low levels of the fascists and Nazis. It is only a last resort.

Recommend reading about this topic. The Book Thief is a good start.

Cable TV

While living in South Florida, we had choices for cable TV and Internet services. Here in Tioga County, we often have only one choice. For many of us, that one choice is Spectrum, unless we try HughesNet, Dish, or DirectTV through the airwaves of satellite.  Satellite services are not given a good review, particularly with Internet.

The FCC has given favor to big business and corporate welfare and has nationalized (socialism) by way of corporate welfare and favors to the wealthy who run such services. Not only have we lost local content in newspapers which were once chock full of local news, information, and culture, we have lost control of local broadcasting.  Television broadcasting, especially in rural hilly areas has been made so weak by the FCC, that we are forced to subscribe to Internet and cable TV.  It’s all a strategy to nationalize by way of corporate welfare by way of money funding the government and favors done for the wealthy.  Radio broadcasting, too, is weakened.  When in my younger years here, we did not have difficulty in driving in a car and receiving the local radio broadcasts just about anywhere, whether AM or FM.  Today, to open up bandwidth for the thumbing on mobile phones which come nowhere close to what we had in local broadcasting, we are unable to have powerful local broadcasting stations in this rural hilly area. Oh, I forget. When we go on top of the hills where the density of population is lower (smaller audience to make money), we can get clear signals.  In the valleys, the reception sucks.  It might not be a huge number of people, but sure is more densely populated with a larger number than on top of the hills.  Perhaps we should be like Chinese communists and move populations to where they wish to have them located – on top of the hills?  This is ridiculous.

In the 1960s, in the hills of upstate New York and Pennsylvania, the cable television industry was born – on the local level.  The FCC did not micro-manage these things with regulatory authority. The regulatory agency involved the local authorities.  The FCC, doing favors for corporate welfare CEOs, has wrongly regulated cable TV and other local media outlets.

To reiterate. In South Florida, we had a choice of cable TV and Internet. The old copper telephone lines into our home were used to deliver Internet by way of AT&T fiber optic lines up to the box and connected to the copper wires.  We also had the choice of copper coax lines by way of Comcast.  The lines within the home were all the same type of lines as what we had with telephone and cable TV in the past.

In addition to these two options, a small and local firm named Laurie’s TV offered cable television and Internet within our Homeowners’ Association development.  We could pay extra and at a lower cost for this HOA cable / Internet access, in addition to the HOA fees we paid.  The speed for the Internet was not good, so we chose AT&T, delivered by fiber optics and copper.  We chose Laurie’s TV for cable TV.  (FYI: Laurie’s TV was sold to another firm).

Explanation about this HOA.  The HOA was like an incorporated village, but run by a private organization based 60 miles away in Miami.  Residents had problems trying to pay their bills at such a distant location, but were treated like dirt by an attitude of “I’ll break your knees if you don’t pay,” even when a check was lost in the mail.  The one-party dictatorial fascist Republican control in that state put teeth into the ability of these private organizations, called “condo commandos” to run rough-shod over the people.  Even a retired NY State Trooper was treated like crap by an organization like this.

Within the “mini-village” environment, they provided choices for local cable TV and Internet.  But the costs for us, per year, to maintain sidewalks, streets, public lawns, and social hall were about four to six times what Newark Valley village residents pay in government taxes in order to do the same thing.  And they were like Mafia bosses in attempting to collect, protected by Republicans who controlled the state.

I say, to people who wish to move to Florida, be careful what you wish for.  I say to people here who complain about incorporated village taxes, be careful  what you complain about because I have seen it much worse when such village services are provided by PRIVATIZED HOA services.  After all, George W. Bush and his brother, Jeb Bush of Florida always said, “what’s good for [PRIVATIZED] business is good for America.”  Not so fast in believing such stuff because it sucks, like a Nazi Hitler-type in Germany. Like a communist Chinese. Like a Putin fascist dictator.  Be careful what you believe and dig in your heals in such regard.  Being humble means learning so as to overcome ignorance. Not being humble and refusing to learn means being a stupid idiot.

After some 40 years living in Floridan and observing what happened there, I bring a different perspective to this community. Cable TV is one issue in which I bring a different perspective.  I have a different perspective on other issues besides cable TV.  It would be nice if somebody would listen, consider, and THINK about my perspective and the information I have to offer. Stop the BS about whether this is politics and my opinion. It is my experiences with facts to share.  Stop  scoffing at me in the same manner 19th Century NY Governor George Clinton was scoffed at when he proposed what was called by the scoffers, “Clinton’s Ditch.”  Stop the taunting of me because I give my perspective.  Cable TV in rural upstate NY really sucks, but so does the nationalization of cable TV and media, for the sake of corporate welfare, while social welfare and taxes for all are issues castigated with wishes to destroy, not reform.

Side note besides cable TV:  What the people need is to take back local control which is good for all, not just for a group of white supremacists called Nazis.  The Republican Party is no longer the party of Abraham Lincoln, but should be re-named the Nazi KKK Party.

Local Binghamton CBS affiliate, channel 12

Dear Sirs or Madams (of CBS Sixty Minutes):

We regularly watch Sixty Minutes and appreciate having this news AND information source available to us. We despise Fox News with its lies. the National Association of Broadcasters needs to put Fox out of business.

We have a bumper sticker which reads: “We get our NEWS from Comedy Central and our entertainment from Fox News.”  That about describes what we have to the nth degree in America today, due to the Republican destruction of the Fairness Doctrine which was put in place in the 1940s to guard against Nazi propaganda which had destroyed Germany.  In the 1940s, everyone was in agreement, so this was a bipartisan decision.

For some 20 years or more, I have written to publications and the media. I have used local newspapers and local television outlets, as well as networks. I write to Sixty Minutes, especially when I hear the recently repeated story about robots (Anderson Cooper?).  I write about many other news reports. With the demise of local news, by hedgefund lovers of money (also a recent story on Sixty Minutes), I have watched as my writings have not been published.  At first, I was puzzled. As time has gone by and with the wisdom of age, I have discovered the reasons.  Both your Sixty Minutes report and an article in The Economist and other publications have unraveled the mystery and puzzle to me.  When one relies only on intuition and observation of actual events at a Florida newspaper and elsewhere, it is good to find out that what I have been writing about what I KNOW has been correct, it is sad that no one pays attention to me anymore.  At one time, before the older great journalists retired – the people of good will running local newspaper – I was accepted. Now I feel as if I am on the outside looking in when most of what I have written has been correct.

Wat I am finding is that my distribution to a local Binghamton Fox affiliate has been read by such people at Fox. What do they do? Just as Trump does. Put a spin on what I say that is in line with their lies and re-distribute.  There is no teamwork among people of good will in the media business and that is a crying shame.  So, I have removed the Fox affiliate from my distribution.  I have removed Sean Hanity from my distribution list.

With this being said, what about the other three Binghamton television network affiliates? NBC and ABC affiliates in Binghamton are run by one owner. The local news comes from one outlet: Newschannel 34, the ABC affiliate.  The PBS affiliate has no local news, only the PBS Newshour and other PBS network news analysis.

This situation leaves the local CBS affiliate, WBNG, channel 12.  The local news is not always “local, but taken from “wire” stories on CNN and other news places. CBS Channel 12 had the best local news source in this area, back in the years when I was growing up.  Today, I would have to say this Grey Company local affiliate is not THE BEST, but it sure is better than Fox 40.

What bothers me about local channel 12 is the fact it no longer accepts email. This is the device I have used to distribute what I write.  Why does channel 12 do this? Why does a news AND INFORMATION channel not read what I write any more? What the hell is going on? Here we are and I can say my likes and dislikes are pretty much on the same page as channel 12. But none of my writing is accepted there.  Don’t get me wrong. There is never 100% agreement with any humans or human organizations. But my judgment is that, unlike Fox, they don’t lie. They are not liars, liars pants on fire.

Yesterday, I was in an area in which a local Solid Gold radio broadcast (Equinox) was difficult to receive as we have a country music station interfering. So, in the car, we turned to another local radio station with music more acceptable to us, though it was NOT solid gold.  In this area, there are pockets where hills block one signal and from some valley comes another. Back in the days of my youth, with mostly AM broadcasts, that never happened here. Even when FM was introduced, it never happened. We received ALL Binghamton stations plus other smaller city stations. Today, we senior citizens are being relegated to purchasing, on a lower revenue stream in our family budget, Sirius XM. At one time, it was all FREE, FREE, FREE – supported by local advertisers.  But yesterday, in the car, when listening to this other station because we were FORCED to do so by rules emanating from the FCC which is controlled by big business when it should be a third party representing the DEMAND SIDE of the market or WE THE PEOPLE.  It is represented by those on the SUPPLY SIDE of the market. Period.  Money is used to validate this. BS on that because free broadcast once DID make money and could still make money, just not feed the already filled to the brim pockets of those with hedgefund investments like the guy Sixty Minutes reported on who now owns a multitude of newspapers and can buy a mansion in Miami when most of us have had to leave Florida because we cannot afford the housing there (along with factors of heat, humidity, and hurricanes with outrageous costs to put money into an insurance hole for hurricanes and never see it again).  But on this radio station we were FORCED to turn to, as a Cuban citizen might be forced when Castro put a block on many broadcasts from Miami, we listened to the news. At the end, we discovered we were FORCED to listen to Fox News. Fox News ended the broadcast with “all America loves Fox News.” Another lie because all America DOES NOT love Fox News. They say it to inspire groupthink from peer pressure and get Republicans elected. I call the Republicans “republicunts” and “repugnicans” because, due to Fox News, the Republicans have become perverted and are NOT like the Republicans I knew one time, associated with, and was a registered Republican. BTW. How much media is covering those of us who have found that “republicunts” and “repugnicans” have forced us to leave the party? Instead I hear crap about Democrats.

Interestingly enough, the story on Fox News which we heard and which surprised us, was a condemnation of Joe Biden. It was absurd as this news report did not just report the news, as was the function under the Fairness Doctrine, but made a comment about how bad Biden was because he stood up to Big Oil.  In other words, he stood up to the Koch brothers, Texas slick oil men, and others.  Fox News did not say that, did they? They wish to force the Keystone Oil Pipeline and only do that by drawing a false picture of alternative fuels. Had we been more in line with alternative fuels, due to Fox News, we would not be stuck today with the a dilemma which mirrors the results of the 1973 oil embargo.  It was republicunts which put the axe on alternative fuels – for the sake of BIG OIL

This harks back to a Sixty Minutes report many years ago about the development of green technology and alternative fuels with the help of government “incubator” money for business in America.  The report was a great one in which we the people learned that America, perhaps being blocked by BIG OIL back in those days(?), did not have investors to buy up those companies because it required deep pocket-ed investors for the long term development of such alternatives.  Your report told about investors from China who were purchasing these “startups.”  And to Fox News people, they blame government dollars being thrown to China, while they never report on how much Big Oil was sabotaging Americans who may have wanted to invest, so as to hold the control in thic country. It is the basis for attacks against Democrats, while, as is always the case (and with gun safety and domestic terrorism), it is the Fox followers and their sabotage which are the root cause – with their evil love of money.

With all of this explanation, I return to the issue of local news CBS affiliate, channel 12. Back in the days when television was first begun, I recall channel 12 being both CBS and ABC. The local NBC affiliate is now Fox40 and a new NBC affiliate was formed after that change happened.  Channel 12 was the only VHF affiliate at that time. It still really is the only “digital” VHF, except perhaps the local NBC affiliate run by ABC affiliate channel 34. Thus, in those early years, few people actually invested in a UHF antenna. I know my dad did not. It was stupid of the FCC to do that, especially when we compare to the city of Scranton where ALL the local affiliates have been UHF and VHF has not existed there. If there were smart people on the FCC back then, they would have handed all the VHF to bigger cities such as Syracuse, Rochester, and so forth. With the VHF affiliate in Binghamton and no one investing in UHF antennas, but purchasing huge VHF antennas to receive channel 12 of Binghamton and the Syracuse VHF stations, that station in Binghamton left the other network broadcasts in the dark as underdogs to channel 12. The news reporting on channels 40 and 34, quite frankly my dear, SUCKED.

When channel 12 was both CBS and ABC, we got to see, in the late 1950s when I was at pre-K age, Mickey Mouse Club. It was broadcast on ABC, so channel 12 picked it up.  (Ironic that ABC is now owned by Disney and the “mouse”).  Thus, my favoritism of CBS channel 12, which went to CBS only at the time channel 34 was created (WBJA) as an ABC affiliate (see the story about the history of channel 34: https://tvstations.fandom.com/wiki/WIVT ).

Thus, with the sabotage of my stories conducted by Fox and the fact that a better news station (CBS 12 of Binghamton) rejects email, I have to protest this situation because good people are not coming together to solve this problem in America. This is not polarization. It is the news and information being taken over by one network when we have four networks. Fox operates in the same way as the communist party or Nazi party control of broadcasting in a dictatorship.

I repeat. That is NOT polarization so bleeding heart liberals need to stop being so damn diplomatic about it all and calling it polarization.  I despised the Capitol 4th concert this past week (on PBS) because, once again, it tries to be nice and talk about a divided America. It is NOT divided. It is a nation with the stage being set for dictatorial control just like that of Hitler and Goebbels. We need to stop pussyfooting around with all this BS for bleeding heart diplomacy – as if that is going to fix the problem.  Given the evidence in history in other nations, THIS BLEEDING HEART DIPLOMACY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM OF THIS NATION HEADING TOWARDS A DICTATORSHIP. IT WILL NOT. I have been correct in EVERYTHING I HAVE SAID AND WRITTEN SINCE THE ELECTION OF RONALD REAGAN IN 1980, so TO BE IGNORED NOW IS REALLY ASININE.  To not be able to write to the local CBS affiliate is asinine, too.  You people need to collect the information, not be concerned about how nice Fox or republicunts or repugnicans are treated.  Stop the BS of bleeding hearts.  Stop scoffing at people like me and ignoring what we are saying.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. People of America consider what German Niemoller said:

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.’

This quote was one of many which inspired the creation of the Fairness Doctrine in late 1940s USA.  Cowards are the ones who realize I am correct and use what I write to the detriment of people of good will among the Democrats AND true Republicans (i.e., the Lincoln Project).  It is about time journalism and media reared its head loud and strong against such actions.

Why does local CBS affiliate channel 12 NOT accept email? What the hell is this in forcing us to do? All to go to ONE monopolized platform called Facebook? Or forcing us to go to social media only?  Forcing us to listen to the lies of Fox and other outlets of hatred?  Listen to the DEMAND SIDE of a capitalist market which SHOULD exist with balance between supply and demand. I speak about such balance and keep in mind this is just as the checks and balances are SUPPOSED to exist in our government between executive, legislative, and judicial, but has been SABOTAGED by people like Trump, Giuliani, McConnell, Thomas, Kavanaugh, Barrett, Kevin McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Gaetz, and many other sodomites who enjoy rape of women, but not homosexuality.

For the DEMAND SIDE, I am speaking. Now pay attention to many of us who want checks and balances in government and economics, not a dictatorship of the SUPPLY-SIDERS.

Happy 4th of July – with NEWSPAPERS! NOT!

Dear Editors:

Shame on you for discontinuing all Saturday and holiday print publications. In fact, GODDAMN the fat pigs who have manipulated this market for more than 10 years, purposely attempting to eliminate local news coverage and local political issues, whether it be newspapers or the loss of local broadcasting.  If they only regulate themselves there could be no need for the common folks of America to demand government regulation. If they would only regulate themselves, by the examples of Binghamton-area folks from the past like George F. Johnson (be sensitive to community and employees and call this industrial democracy, based on the moral sentiments expressed by Founding Fathers contemporary, Adam Smith). We wake up this morning with our minds, “set on Jesus.” But we are no longer to wake up this morning on the 4th of July with our minds set on reading the newspaper, unless we get it FORCED and CRAMMED down our throats electronically. Piss on the fat pigs for doing this.

And there are those who scoff and laugh at me for being so adamant to stand up and turn this thing around. I do have experience in this line and a wisdom of age.

More recently, in an economics magazine, there was an article titled, “Culture vultures.” The article identified this yanking of local news with digital bullshit activities (my words, not the magazine’s words), to have reduced the ability of people to understand and to know the people running for Congress unless they listen to the bullshit ads on television with lies and tarnishing of images rather than a discussion of issues.  The lowest level of intelligence focuses on tarnishing images and the highest level of intelligence is to focus on issues. We have people seeking huge increases in their income, with bonuses, who have inundated the newspaper ownership with their lousy attitudes towards consumers and a push for digital. The discriminate against those who are unable to read on computers unless they spend tons of money to wire their home so as to sit in a recliner and read the morning newspaper. Let alone the discrimination against senior citizens and those who either don’t want computers or just plain cannot afford them. And don’t look for handouts to solve the problem by purchasing computers for such folks because it drives up the costs all around for all of society. Keep it SIMPLE STUPID. Stop the bullshit of sensationalist news on digital access.  The visually impaired are also discriminated against with this digital bullshit. We don’t want handouts when the KISS of all of this is to simply have a printed copy of a newspaper.  This 4th of July, the Gannett Pravda of Binghamton (Piss & Sun-Bullshit) tells us all to read it online.  Well. Piss on you, Fat Pigs of Gannett – the modern-day versions of ROBBER BARONS and FAT CATS.

My experience and knowledge is like this. I observed as many of us who are trainers, educators, teachers, professors, librarians, healthcare workers, and many other LOW-PAID people who help people and society (as their goal) to be laid off and the jobs destroyed.  I was one of them, for the sake of fat pigs at the top of the corporation who kept many high-paid lawyers and accountants on while the rest of us were screwed.  Librarians, too, in newspapers. Their jobs to assist reporters (also losing their jobs) in local news. The LOCAL would not only include political news. It would also be sections in the newspapers on local food culture, arts, entertainment, restaurant reviews, health issues, business issues, personal finance issues, and don’t forget the comic strips.  The list goes on and on of what WAS once provided by LOCAL newspapers and local BROADCASTING.  All have been replaced by a communist style nationalization of newspapers done in the name of capitalist monopolization.  The company where I lost my job as a corporate librarian was one of many across the land which got rid of librarians, in the name of deregulation and monopolization (supply side Reaganomics).  In each case, whether a deregulated company or newspapers, the purpose was to eliminate the demand side of the market. The newspapers have done a swell job in accomplishing this task.

I knew someone who was laid off at a Florida newspaper in 2008, after working there for 33 years.  His local television TV grid, one of many things he did, was curtailed and quite possibly, eventually eliminated. All in the deliberate attempt to strategize to help Rupert Murdoch and others eliminate local broadcasting in favor of Fox News. I don’t dream this up about Rupert Murdoch. He is actually quoted, from which I paraphrase.  Recently, the Piss & Sun-Bullshit (Gannett’s local Pravda) eliminated local TV grids completely. I have suggested that if it’s too much to put in a grid with ALL those thousands of channels (most of which are shallow and useless, for which we pay Spectrum and others), that the Piss & Sun-Bullshit just compile the schedules of all the local broadcast channels and provide a listing of all the local radio stations (no need for schedule), identifying what music or news stations are provided by local radio. As people who moved to this area in 2019, we rely on those things. Instead, what did Gannett do? Offer us a separate “TV Weekly at cost.  Right. As Barbara Ehrenreich wrote in her book, “nickeling and diming” Americans.  This nickeling and diming of Americans does one thing and that is not to increase profits, but to make HUGE profits and line the pant pockets of the fat pigs at the top.  That has been proven, too, and needs to stop.

As a customer on the demand side of this market, I have purchased newspapers for many years and have observed the deliberate condensing of newspapers for the sake of ONLY those people at the top.  At one time, I did the advertising for a group in South Florida. We put ads in the local newspaper there and were very pleased with the turnout we received. A great capitalist return on investment. FACT:  Newspapers operate by selling more advertisements and the prices are based on circulation numbers.  This newspaper raised its advertising rates AND its circulation rates.  The organization with which I worked decided they were not going to pay those high prices because the return on investment for us was reduced, as the prices of subscriptions and single copies went up.  The net result was lack of money because the circulation numbers went down.  So, what is done? Raise the advertising rates. It becomes a catch 22 for which lainbrain fat pigs running these organizations running them were blinded.  Or were they blinded?

When attending classes at UCF in Orlando, I noticed that the newspaper there was giving newspapers to students. With the “Knight card,” we could obtain a free newspaper. One had to get there to find a newspaper or they were all snarfed up. In other words, to sell more advertisements at a decent cost and to sell more tailored to the young age market, that newspaper could watch its circulation numbers go up.

When I returned to my home campus in South Florida, I suggested the local newspapers there do the same thing. Having been with an organization which yanked our advertising for our LOCALLY PRODUCED concerts, I thought, as a professor at a college there, the same thing could be done in South Florida. I was scoffed at the suggestion by lainbrains.

Then I move back to New York and discover, the thickest “papers” in the area and the only one of about a half dozen subscription-based weekly newspapers which failed, was one which had ALWAYS been available free of charge, even back to the days when I was a kid here. They succeeded with the same model of a “pape” which was done at UCF Orlando.  Since my earlier days, they had added “news” items as well.  Local news.  Such things did not exist. The local supermarket keeps this newspaper, but does NOT have the Piss & Sun-Bullshit nor the Ithaca (another Gannett in a monopolized world) Journal available. One does the grocery shopping and has to walk down the street to get the others.  The local newspaper which does NOT rely on selling subscriptions, gives it away free of charge and likely has a far larger advertising revenue to pay for the printing. And as far as I know, this local newspaper is NOT digital. So Piss & Sun-Bullshit loses readers with its lainbrain fat pigs who FORCE digital down our throats.

I have some suggestions, but if one wants to simply scoff at my suggestions, then go to hell.

1. Gannett do what was done in the Tampa Bay area where they went from two newspapers (St. Petersburg Times and Tampa Tribune) to one which incorporates the Gannett newspapers in the small cities of Binghamton, Ithaca, and Elmira. Call it the Southern Tier Press, Sun-Bulletin, Journal, Star-Gazette. Or simply shorten it to The Southern Tier Press because Binghamton is the largest of the cities.  The Sun-Bulletin consists of a name from the Endicott Bulletin, but most young people probably don’t even know such history.  Or simply create a new name completely, like The Southern Tier Newsday.  But don’t make it sensationalist like the bullshit in The Daily News or The New York Post. More like the tabloid called Newsday.

2. Make The Southern Tier Newsday a tabloid, but not sensationalist.

3. Bring back local community information besides just the news. Bring back local columnists which write non-biased observations about what is happening. Bring back a food column. With such a newspaper, the school at Cornell University which gave us upstate NY style BBQ chicken or Endicott-style spiedies, etc., etc., etc., could be part of such a food culture and recipe column. Bring back entertainment reviews, including concert reviews, theatre reviews, restaurant reviews, recreational reviews (not sports), etc. And there are many other local community events and reviews, including restaurant reviews, as well.  We don’t need Facebook to do this, but open it up for all of us to read, whether we are wealthy and can afford the best computers and over-priced Internet service, or less advantaged.

4. Bring back local delivery of the newspapers by kids. Make certain these kids collect the money from the customers and have an advantage to expand their routes. These things have been removed by communist-style centrally located Gannett Pravda and others. What do we wish to do? Emulate freaking lousy Putin who needs to be pissed on?  He leads a nation which has ALWAYS been governed by vicious and lousy individuals who are more like Genghis Khan than like Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, and others in our long line of good leaders.  Allow the carriers to pay a wholesale cost and sell at retail so as to learn what COMPETITIVE capitalism, not the fat pig version of a monopolistic centrally-controlled economics which is NOT capitalism.  And if these young people need to go door-to-door to collect for the papers, then they should be required to have two people at any time when knocking on doors.  Of course, if all newspapers were distributed at no per-copy charge, then there would be no collections at the door, but customers encouraged to leave a tip for the carriers which would be paid according to the number of newspapers delivered.  The higher the number, the more the kids would be paid. Thus, such “business” enterprise could be taught so as to teach what it means to market and distribute newspapers.

5. Newspapers could increase the circulation numbers by selling both print AND digital copies. But those receiving print copies would get them free.  The method now is to treat customers like shit unless they USE the digital copies. That is NOT SUPPLY and DEMAND capitalism. That is fascist rule from supply side economics.  That is NOT capitalism.

Recently, I contacted a newspaper publisher which was advertising its need to get delivery people. I am too old to do door-to-door, even by car. But I suggested, since this newspaper was from out of town and only one store was carrying it, I would be willing to diver to stores in western Broome and eastern Tioga Counties so as to deliver to those stores.  Having more newspapers in a store CAN attract customers, especially those who are being screwed by not getting home delivery, or having a really lousy home delivery.  The newspaper is at a store at a neighboring county and stores in this county have mentioned how they would love to have this newspaper available for their customers, but cannot get it.  Smart and intelligent people would say this, recognizing that, even though they don’t make a profit from the newspapers, the store has a good means for expanding their own customer base – with newspaper availability.  Smart people at the supermarket which is part of a chain which bought out another chain.  To date, I have had no “call back” from this newspaper.

Ben Franklin had a newspaper. He even promoted the building of libraries, as did Thomas Jefferson. Today, many librarians have been axed, in the name of high-paid lawyers and accountants – bean counters – who remain. Personal injury and workman’s comp lawyers are lousy and need to consider taking on an issue such as this. But no. They are too damn lazy to do this, as they milk customers and U.S. taxpayer money from the court system. Meanwhile, we have a politicized U.S. Supreme Court in this polarized society which has been decimated by nationalized newspapers which do not cover local areas properly.  Ben Franklin did.  Thomas Jefferson started the Library of Congress and sent the Marine Corps to Tripoli to counter pirates from a Muslim government which had deposed a much more humanitarian Muslim leader.  “… to the shores of Tripoli.”  Besides those soldiers who fought in Europe during World War I & II, as well as the many who fought in the Pacific, I honor them on this 4th of July. I can only hope that their sacrifices will not be town down by nationalistic fat pigs and younger common folk who don’t even acknowledge what they have today because of promotion of being individualistic fat pigs, snots, and spoiled brats. They should listen to my grandparents and parents talk about the Great Depression and those wars, and all with which our society had to suffer.  The GODDAMN Bible thumpers and their ideas that the only part of the Bible important to them is “an eye for an eye,” even after Jesus Christ taught us we should NOT follow those things. However, these GODDAMN Bible thumpers ignore the fact that parts of the Bible tell us to “honor thy father and thy mother.”  Honor those who came before us and left us with good along with the bad. Examine the good, you bastard SOBs.
