The intent of this blog is to promote human equality, human progress, human peace and justice, and optimism. To accomplish this, to encourage the discussion of ideas after identifying and discovering problems, and then creating positive solutions for "we the people," in order to provide for the "general welfare" and "domestic tranquility" of America now and its "posterity" into the future. To encourage an emphasis on separation of religion and state for all, no matter if this is for those "of faith" in a Maker / Creator (Deists, God-loving people, Christians, various people of spirituality) and atheists or agnostics.

Sarah Palin Lies

Check out the following link from ABC News and discover the lies of Sarah Palin:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/08/palin-paints-picture-of-obama-death-panel-giving-thumbs-down-to-trig.html

A death panel?  The system needs fixing.  The Republicans don’t think it does.  They are out of touch with reality.  Even if they think it needs fixing, they want all to continue as it has – status quo.  That’s no solution.  The Republicans offer no solutions, just sabotage and obstruction.

Now Sarah Palin is a liar.

An Example of the Ignorant Sluts Allowed to Ravage America Like Hitler Youths

Here is an example of the kind of goons in the “Armey” of ignorant sluts who terrorize America today.  And the police and FBI are doing what?

There’s a house down the street where a couple faggots live. They have
parties where they invite other mincers over and I guess they all yank
each other’s dicks, giggle, and swap AIDS. As disgusting as they are –
that’s not what pissed me off. What rattled my cage is that they and
their nauseating butt buddies have Moonnigger stickers on their cars.
Tres stoopeedo, c’est non?

Last night they were having one of these group suck/fucks and I decided
to take my dog out for a healthy stroll. Before I did I composed and
printed a neighborly message.

So — I’m out walking the dog and…, Oh, yeah! I almost forgot…, I’d
also filled my pocket up with these nifty-jifty little tire spikes I buy
online. http://www.defensedevices.com/caltrops.html

When me and poochy strolled by the house, where the fairies had parked
streetside, I’d bend over as if to pet bowser and also slip a couple
spikes under a tire or two on the cars with Moonnigger stickers. :-D))))

I left the folded message under one car’s windshield blade. It said,
“Please note that cars with flat tires are the ones with Moonnigger
bumper stickers.” Short, sweet and to the point, huh?

Let’s see how many of the pecker puffers remove that “Obama ’08” and
“Yes, We Can” shit!

BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

SNL Once Called Them Ignorant Sluts – in JEST, But…

Kathleen Parker told us about the “armey” of goons who are disrupting democracy in America, but then failed to admonish what they are doing (The Palm Beach Post, Aug. 10, 2009).  She described a bunch of ignorant people who refuse to allow discussion because fear and intimidation motivates them to “win” by sabotaging any efforts to improve our healthcare system which is sick beyond belief.  Described in Parker’s op-ed were a bunch of people who remove the ability for many of us to seek “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” in this nation.  Parker apparently endorses these efforts which are similar to the operations of Adolf Hitler as he gained power in Germany.  Mob violence that shut down intelligent discussion brought Hitler to power.  Ignorant fools in America.

On SNL many years ago, Dan Akroid aptly called his companion “anchor person” on the “fake news” program an “ignorant slut.”  These people who shut down town hall meetings with their yelling and screaming are nothing but “ignorant sluts” who take their orders from Dick Armey and big insurance who are spending millions upon millions to sabotage improvements in our healthcare system.  These “ignorant sluts” are so stupid, they fail to recognize how they are being used by mean-spirited evil people at the helm of many corporations.  In his day, Jesus Christ described the 1st-century leaders as, “your father is Satan the devil.”  It is appropriate to describe the leaders of Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dick Armey and various others who orchestrate this obstruction of political discussion and saboteurs of democracy as “sons of the devil.”

What good will it do for me to write sensible and intelligent talking points about this issue of healthcare?  For we face “ignorant sluts” of people who work to “win” a supposed ideological cause (greed?) than to solve a real problem.  What good does it do to challenge Kathleen Parker because she quotes some of the horse s*** from the Armey and insurance “scripts” that are typically repeated by Republicans?  All that will happen is that I/we get shot down rather than to have people listen – for once.  We have a bunch of narcissistic arrogant stubborn ignorant fools in America who refuse to listen and consider what is being said.

For instance, Ms. Parker, in her Monday op-ed, mentioned the CBO and the budget deficit.  That is a narrow-minded approach because the CBO did not do any cost-benefit analysis.  When I worked in a corporation, I was asked to often produce cost-benefit analysis.  Never once did the CBO consider the impact on the budget deficit SHOULD we lower the per capita cost of healthcare in this nation.  The per capita cost?  Is this too big of words for the “ignorant sluts” to understand?   Our American horse s*** of a healthcare system costs us, overall, $6000 per person in this nation.  (How about that… is that putting it in words that the “Armey squadrons” of goons can understand?).  In comparison, at the low end of the cost barrel is Japan (which also HAPPENS to have the lowest number of lawyers per person in its nation – the USA has the HIGHEST number of lawyers per person – in the WORLD; of course, I would be remiss to conclude something about these figures – perhaps as stupid as the “ignorant sluts” at a Pennsylvania or Long Island town hall meeting).  Japan, Britain, Canada, and other DEVELOPED WESTERN NATIONS spend only about $2000 per person for healthcare.  And they actually heal people rather than treat with the money symbol in mind.

But you see, thanks to the propaganda paid for by our friendly insurance and pharmaceutical companies, this message does not get through the thick brains of the “ignorant slut” goons who travel America’s town hall meetings, destroying democracy while praising the “establishment” of democracy in Iraq.  Stupid JERKS.

What are you afraid of, Ms. Parker?  Death threats from the “ignorant sluts?”  Why did you not reveal more than what you did?  Why did you not mention that the CBO really did not do a FULL job, but the “Armey squadron of ignorant sluts” grasp this one little thing while ignoring every other piece of evidence.  HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT A PUBLIC SECTOR HEALTHCARE OPTION WOULD NOT HELP REDUCE THE FEDERAL DEFICIT, RATHER THAN INCREASE IT?  HOW THE HELL CAN YOU CONCLUDE THAT A PUBLIC SECTOR HEALTHCARE OPTION WILL INCREASE THE BUDGET DEFICIT?  YOU DON’T KNOW, NOR DO ANY OF THE FOOLS IN THE ARMEY HEALTHCARE CONTINGENT.

Armey and the others SUCK big time in their Hitler-style propaganda.

If the Democrats and President Obama bow to these goons who destroy democracy because, as in the case of Jesus Christ, their “popularity was waning,” then they are bowing to mob violence in this nation.

People in this nation deserve the same coverage the military people receive. PERIOD.  If you don’t agree, then you suck.  I say that because that is what the a**holes at the town meetings are TELLING MANY OF US who want something better in America.

Posting Out of Intelligent Anger is Better Than the Jerks Who Speak out of Ignorant Anger in America Today – About Health Care

Ignorant Americans.  Blind Americans.  Followers of Dick Armey, not Jesus Christ.  This is no Christian nation, you goddamned jerks.  You are blind to the truth, you bastards who are being paid to tear down democracy at town hall meetings.
You are the goddamned Anti-Christ, you bastards.  GO TO HELL every one of you – because that is where you deserve to be.

It is better to speak out of INTELLIGENT ANGER than to speak out of the IGNORANT ANGER PAID FOR BY DICK ARMEY.  Go to hell, Dick Armey, you son-of-a-bitch who destroys any intelligent discussion of this issue.  You anti-democracy f***ing demon from Satan.  You Anti-Christ son-of-a-bitch.

Stupidity of Insurance Companies Putting Money First

There was a day in this country when a person studying finance told me, “don’t buy insurance unless it pays a dividend.”  That was in the 1970s – before goddamned Reagan.  One actually had the “choice” so many ignorant Americans with blinders keep CLAIMING we have in America.  Find an insurance company that pays dividends.  Not.  As long as you are on there Mafia-style shark list with term insurance – it doesn’t exist.  What happened?

Recently, Bill Moyers, on PBS, reported about the CEO of Aetna.  This guy found an IT department to create a database to identify the health insurance plans “most costly” – the ones that paid out more because people had HEALTH NEEDS.  (F*** such a CEO).
Here is something for the stockholders of Aetna – the 99% of them.  How much did YOU benefit from this move?  (F*** the CEO of Aetna).

Here is something else to consider.  A true capitalist company Aetna is not.  Mafia?  Yes.  Using Mafia style tactics?  Yes.  That is NOT capitalism, but based on a lousy religion that controls rather than heals.

Had Aetna been forced to pay dividends to those “better” accounts, there would have been less money for bonuses for those in the 1% bracket at the top of Aetna.  Now THAT is true capitalism.  But we don’t have capitalism, folks, we have a monopolistic greedy system that benefits a few.  Furthermore, the assholes at the top of the corporation would have thought twice about eliminating the “less profitable” who were being healed.  F*** you and all the swine that control our lives and lead people blindly in America – with your big money.  F*** all of you.

Those stupid jerks in Pennsylvania who yelled at Arlen Specter.  You JERKS – consider how blind you are.  There is no choice.  There is no capitalism in this healthcare system.  Why do you blindly defend what the son-of-a-bitch Dick Armey tells you to do?  Are you blind followers of Hitler?  You assholes.

The Truth About American Health Insurance

Recently, The Palm Beach Post ran an article about how well doctors of cosmetic surgery are doing in this recession.  Meanwhile, those of us who need dermatologists are left sitting for 2 hours or more to see a doctor.  American rationed healthcare – Mafioso style.

Dick Armey Son-of-a-bitch and Nazi Organizer of Fear & Intimidation

Dick Armey and others are SOBs who don’t deserve the democracy they have inherited.  They incite mob violence, fear and hatred against a health plan, using false information.  No one stands up to them.

Take, for instance, Kathleen Parker (The Palm Beach Post, 8.10.09).  She points out what Dick Armey is doing, but as with fear of the Mafia, she refuses to take a stand against his un-American and un-democratic activities.
These people do not deserve democracy nor do they deserve the right to speak.  They have lost it when they began using fear and intimidation tactics.  Now THAT is unconstitutional, not a healthcare plan for Americans.  Go to hell, you son-of-a-bitch Dick Armey and your scumbag friends.  GO TO HELL!

Good-bye, Emily Minor and Company

The Palm Beach Post has been saying its goodbyes to numerous columnists, reporters, and very important people who have worked very hard for many years to put out a newspaper in Palm Beach County.  Emily Minor said good-bye in her column this morning.  But, she is not alone.

Last night, a large group of people gathered to offer farewell and best wishes to Emily, Hap Erstein, Sharon McDaniel, Jan Norris, several reporters, and numerous others who are the unsung heroes of the newsroom.  To be kind, we should say, “good stories about each” were offered, but some may call it “roasting.”  Nevertheless, it was an honor to be present as these wonderful people were given recognition by their peers.

It was fun.  It was spontaneous.  It was interesting.  A reminder of the days at Syracuse University.  The Daily Orange.  The journalism spirit evident when attending graduate classes (electives for non-majors) at the Newhouse School of Communications.  The language.  The wit.  The sharp tongues.  All a reminder of those days and the people with their experiences – many moons ago.

Good luck.  Best wishes to all who created the personality of The Post over the past two decades.

And in the midst of it all, a child was born.

Review: Rotelli Pizza Pasta Perfect Restaurant in Lake Worth

Lake Avenue in Lake Worth, Florida, has its own quaint unique charm.  Besides the Lake Worth Playhouse (see related story about the production of Hair), there are numerous shops and restaurants of various “flavors.”  Restaurants and eateries?  Key West style.  French.  Italian.  Irish.  Deli (Too Jays).  Even a Starbucks (no I have been assured the one on Lake Avenue is not closing).  Lucerne Avenue, too, has numerous eateries and shops.  Nice mixture.  There was once a neat little chocolate shop.  I miss that one.

On my numerous journeys to downtown Lake Worth, there have been two reasons for being there:  Lake Worth Playhouse and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.  Whatever the reason, I have often eaten at Rotelli Pizza Pasta Perfect Restaurant.  I have probably eaten at Rotelli more than any of the other, so there must be a reason why I continue to return there.

Whether in groups of fifteen, four, two, or just by myself, I have had excellent service on all but one occasion.  I estimate I have eaten there about six or seven times over the past two to three years.  So, one slightly less than excellent service is not a bad track record.  But, that has been only my own personal experience.

On my most recent visit, my meal consisted of an Italian Merlot, salad, lasagna with side of sausage, and tiramisu for dessert.  I was deciding between the lasagna and the eggplant parmesan when the waiter recommended the lasagna.  I am glad he made the recommendation.  By my limited experience in Italian food, I thought it was great.  It had been a long time since I had eaten lasagna (we get things we don’t ordinarily make for ourselves when we eat out, don’t you know?).

On previous visits, I ordered sausage and enjoyed the Rotelli offering.  Perhaps Rotelli is no better than other venues when it comes to sausage.  But, I like ordering extra protein at times, despite its fat content.  I rarely eat sausage, so I ordered the meat at Rotelli where I had enjoyed it in the past.  Simple, right?

Salad with blue cheese dressing.  Blue cheese dressing is blue cheese dressing, right?  Wrong.  The best blue cheese dressing is the recipe I make and I got that one from my parents.  My dad sold Maytag appliances (remember the “lonely repairman?”).  Few people realize that the Maytags had a farm in Iowa and also sold Maytag blue cheese.  As a kid, we made our blue cheese dressing using the blue cheese from the Iowa Maytags.  The recipe is great.  I have it memorized and can make it up in a minute or two.  So, while I enjoy a good blue cheese dressing in any restaurant, none have compared to the dressing I make – that I “inherited” from my family.  Rotelli blue cheese dressing?  Okay.  Average.

The best blue cheese dressing I have ever been served in any restaurant, bar none, was at the Leverock’s Seafood House chain of restaurants in the St. Petersburg / Clearwater area.  Hmmm.  No surprise, but one of the owners of the chain was my father’s boss in New York, Dick Tappan.  While employed by Tappan, my father was “certified” to be a Maytag repairman because Tappan once held the franchise for Maytag in my hometown.  When Tappan sold the business in New York and moved to St. Pete, he started a fishing business and eventually the Leverock’s chain.  Wonder if there is any relation to the blue cheese dressing in the restaurants?  Family secret?  Tappan, by the way, told me just prior to his death that he intended to open a Leverock’s in Jupiter – Palm Beach County.  Never happened.

I love to diverge, don’t you know?

Have I held your attention thus far?

Wine.  Red wine.  The Bible says a little wine is good for the belly.  The Puritans and the Saudis have it all wrong.  I don’t know the basis of the Saudi beliefs, but the Puritans confuse the Bible verses about “drunkards” with the word, “alcohol.”  They were (and still remain) mentally ill, anyway.  Nevertheless, if one reasons on this, he/she should recognize the difference.  I have a firm belief that Americans are screwed up regarding alcohol due to the mentally ill Puritans (same can be said about the Saudi princes, too, particularly one who apparently masterminded the destruction of skyscrapers in New York City).

Again, my dad.  At various dinners, my brothers and I were allowed to drink a little gulp of wine.  We were always instructed about its value as a food, not as a social drink.  Of course, my dad always gave this to us with the caveat of, “do as I say, not as I do.”  But, we got the message.  To this day, I rarely drink wine, unless it is with a meal.  What my dad taught me those many years ago has stuck with me.

Of course, with evidence that those who drink red wine have less heart attacks, perhaps I should be drinking more.  But, wine drinking with an occasional meal suffices for me.  Once in a great while, perhaps I drink wine (or sometimes a beer) rather than have a glass of water or soda.  But those occasions are rare.  Red and white wine usually remains in my refrigerator to age.

Typically, I buy standard American (California) red Merlot because I am not a connoisseur of wines.  The Italian red wine at Rotelli Restaurant did have a better bouquet and flavor than most standard wines.  But, it does compare quite well to the wine I have tested on tours of the Finger Lakes Wineries in Upstate New York. For example, I recall tasting a good Merlot at Casa Larga Vineyards in Fairport, NY.  But then, I am told this vineyard is not too many generations removed from an Italian master in wines.  Is this true or hearsay?

Tiramisu for dessert.  Believe it or not, I have never had tiramisu for dessert.  What a sheltered life I have led, don’t you know?  So, I have nothing to compare Rotelli Restaurant’s version.  The taste was great.  I enjoyed it.  There are also stories I have been told about the origin of tiramisu.  Maybe another time.

Not far down the road from Rotelli Restaurant, one can learn more about cullinary intrigue, including “wine appreciation for beginners.”  There are various courses of cullinary interests offered at Palm Beach Community College.  The Lake Worth campus is within five miles of Rotelli Restaurant.

If you plan to see a show at Lake Worth Playhouse, Rotelli Restaurant is several doors to the east of the playhouse – easy walking; consider dinner and the play.  This reviewer believes it is well worth it!

As for the productin of Hair at the Lake Worth Playhouse, it runs only until Saturday, August 9.  In fact, I am told there are only a few seats remaining in the Saturday matinee (August 9), so call the playhouse quickly!

As for Rotelli Restaurant, I strongly recommend it for dinner and theatre.  Nice surroundings.  In cooler weather, one can eat in the outdoor seating area.  There is a separate room for larger parties (call first, though!).

If I had to give a rating, I would say, “four” out of “five” stars.  But do not rely on me for rating Italian restaurants beause my “repertoire” is limited.  For dinner and theatre, it is quite nice.  For dinner with friends after social or church functions, Rotelli Restaurant is a nice place to dine.

The one drawback to Rotelli Restaurant is its web presence.  A colleague and I had difficulty finding information about it as we were deciding where we wished to eat before the show.  We likely never found the Rotelli Web presence, just information by reviewers and other sources; an actual web page never came up in the first block of results in a Google search.  This is a positive criticism because the owners need to get word out more about a good thing! But then, my dad always believed word of mouth was more efficient advertising.  So, do what you have to do, Rotelli Restaurant.  You will likely see me returning at some time in the furture!

Lisa Vroman at the Glimmerglass

Miles away in Florida and wishing I could be at the Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, NY.  Why?  Lisa Vroman is headlining the Cole Porter production of Kiss Me, Kate.  From what I see on the web site (http://www.glimmerglass.org/operas/porter.html), several dates are now sold out, so she must be doing something right.  Or, maybe I should not attribute it only to her.  But, since she headlined at several of our concerts of the Choral Society of the Palm Beaches (PBCC, Eissey Campus Theatre) and at a benefit concert here in Palm Beach County for a soldier’s family who lost their father in Afghanistan, I am inclined to say some good things about her – even if I cannot be at a performance this summer in Upstate NY.

While I don’t know Lisa very well, we attended Crane School of Music and I had the opportunity to play in the opera orchestra while she was on stage there.  We also participated in several “student-produced” stage productions at Crane School of Music.

On Broadway, I saw her perform the role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera.  She invited me and my guest backstage to meet the other actors and actresses.  I stood on the Broadway stage!  Thank you, Lisa!  It was a great experience in New York City!

So, I encourage all those in Upstate New York and those visiting there to go see an Upstate New York girl perform in Kiss Me, Kate at the Glimmerglass!  Before the end of the season (August 23).

And while you are at it, listen to Lisa on her CD (available at Amazon.com), Broadway Classic.  You will be glad you did!
