My Genealogy
Sadly, I just discovered that the source which tied my paternal genealogy line to Charlemagne might be in error and that I may not be in a direct line to Charlemagne. Recent research has revealed that my ancestor, Richard I Lionheart is not directly descended from Charlemagne.
There is evidence that King Richard spent a great deal of time with a mistress in Cornwall England and my surname comes from a “bastard” son of that arrangement.
History is not static but dynamic. It means that hypothesis are not always fully supported with facts and primary source information. One day, it is possible we can find some of the information to be false, not because someone erred but because the sources used could be incorrect.
