The intent of this blog is to promote human equality, human progress, human peace and justice, and optimism. To accomplish this, to encourage the discussion of ideas after identifying and discovering problems, and then creating positive solutions for "we the people," in order to provide for the "general welfare" and "domestic tranquility" of America now and its "posterity" into the future. To encourage an emphasis on separation of religion and state for all, no matter if this is for those "of faith" in a Maker / Creator (Deists, God-loving people, Christians, various people of spirituality) and atheists or agnostics.

Law & Order

There I go again.

Commercial.  A NY bail system which is “ravishing” our world.

The role model for lawyers, to me, was the fictional character of the 1950s and 1960s, Perry Mason.  Silly me, I suppose.  In an episode of Perry Mason, he says, “I don’t want an opinion, I want evidence.”

Don’t forget the fictional character of the 1980s, Jessica B. Fletcher (Murder She Wrote).  Quoting the character: “I have a theory, but I am searching for the evidence.”  Aka, speculation.

Purportedly, another police drama series, Dragnet, had Joe Friday saying, “just the facts, ma’am, just the facts.”  Otherwise, I don’t know where I heard that line used and can only dig into my memories of programs.  OK.  So I lie about it, right?  (He says in a sarcastic manner).

That is how this silly person has lived his life. Trained, in addition to training as musician and educator as a genealogist and historian, doing research.  Especially, trained as a librarian at Syracuse University. I don’t want to hear opinions, just the evidence.  I don’t want to hear opinions which are based only on emotions and no evidence.  Who the hell am I, you say?  Go ahead.  Align yourself with the fascists of America and say that right to my face.

The statement on this damn commercial used to taint the image of Josh Riley is, in my thoughts, against the law.  It uses someone’s opinion with no basis of fact about Josh Riley.  In my book, it is called slander.  Slander is against the law.  Period.  Nothing more for me.  AHA!  Maybe I am expressing my opinion without evidence!  That is not right for a member of the political party to which I belong, but not for Republicans and the manure Republican fascists throw at people.

In fact, I have the evidence, but no one wishes to read about it.  So I will desist. Just listen to short video snippets and make up one’s mind, regardless of whether it’s an opinion based on no evidence or the truth. Is that what America has become? Because I remember an America which was better than that because lies and hypocrisy, while they existed in the past, did not predominate our lives.

Law and order = be firm and fair.  Law and order means don’t billy-club gay folks in the Stonewall Inn in New York City.  Law and order means don’t plaster the faces of black folk who commit crimes in the media while giving a break to white folk and not doing such a thing as often (facts).  Law and order means don’t put young black folk in jail with minor offenses and then treat them in a lousy manner when they get out, taking away their ability to find jobs and VOTE IN ELECTIONS.  All part of a scheme to “defraud” the vote (actually this action makes for fraud).  Law and order means to take felons in prison more seriously but don’t put those with minor offenses in the same jail cells so they learn how to be criminals.  Law and order means don’t flunk gay folk as student teachers and then push many (black folk, too) into homelessness and poverty-stricken situations so they turn to a life of crime.  Law and order means that wealthy mafia deserve the same treatment as drug American drug cartel as the immigrants who come here who might do the same thing.  Law and order means giving the same prison sentences as those who are not wealthy, when it comes to murder and the wealthy mob knocks off someone they don’t like, such as a newspaper publisher doing his duty in LOCAL investigative reporting.

OK.  Perhaps these are my “opinions?”  Guess again.  Everything I mention here can be substantiated with EVIDENCE.  Law & order.  Evidence, not traditionalist thoughts and cherry-picking from the law books (or Bible) to someone’s convenience.
