In a recent Sixty Minutes report, a huge installation of wind power in the sea off the coast of England was reviewed. It was very informative. Informative only if people take in the overall perspective and outlook about energy for the future.
The nearby town had been devastated by the restrictions on fishing placed by Iceland on those who fished those seas. It devastated the economy there. With wind power came a re-vitalization of the economy in that town.
However, some of the predictions made by the developers have been squashed, due to the war in Ukraine. Those interviewed liked the re-vitalization of the economy. They showed no appreciation for it as they complained about the higher, rather than lower, costs of electricity
No appreciation and an excuse for anti-alternative fuels and forces of big fat oil to sabotage it. One of the problems facing the increase of electricity prices can be indirectly attributable to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Who and what here? Putin, who wants to control oil and that is his motive.
My own observations since learning about this situation in college courses when OPEC pushed an oil embargo upon us. Putin took Syria for the same reasons and now going after the Ukraine. For oil and control of oi. Even America’s excursion and loss of life of many Americans, into Vietnam, was due to the Texas pursuit of control of oil. Communism had nothing to do with it, only an excuse. Capitalist monopolization of oil had a great deal to do with it, as evidence has proven. (Not my opinion).
In today’s world, Putin and the Saudi Arabians, friends with Trump, are not interested in alternative fuels, so they tell lies over and over and over again, with the purpose of the lies becoming the truth (reference: Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister). By Putin moving into Ukraine and using his nuclear button to control the situation, he scares the beejeebers out of the western world. The impact is devastating to projects begun which take time to develop and become beneficial. The wind farm in England is adversely impacted.
If people who bloviate about the Keystone project and drilling off the coast of Florida, don’t see this, then simply stated, they are stupid and lack any sense of humility which requires they learn the TRUTH, not from the lies generated by Rupert Murdock with Fox and from other sources.
In the military, we examined two aspects: (1) tactical and (2) strategic. When I worked for retired Air Force sgt. in a Florida corporation, he also worked from that aspect at times.
Tactical is, in simple terms (but more involved than simplicity) is short term. Strategic is long term. In this situation, the short term (tactical) is about jobs and big oil, continuing with it, rather than putting some in reserves like a savings account. Keystone makes sense for the tactical side (short term) but no damn sense for the strategic side (long term).
In the example on Sixty Minutes, the strategic side is wind power for the long term. Putin and Saudi Arabia know this, so they operate in the world to turn strategic upside down with scare TACTICS (short term) of threats for the finger being on the nuclear. In this way, Putin’s TACTICAL mission is to destroy any alternative fuel advances because he is so stupid of a dictator, he does not know how to develop them in Russia. Trump is too stupid to realize this.
When the STRATEGY for wind power is sabotaged, then people go along and voice their lousy mouths about big oil from Texas and Saudi Arabia. I know a fool from my hometown who works in that environment in Texas. Yes, I will call him a fool, for trying to bully me into supporting George W. Bush in 2004. I resisted and refused to do so. I am one of those on someone’s list as a “dissenter” because I am opposed to big oil and prefer to invest in companies which promote BOTH oil AND alternative energy sources.
In order to keep big oil at the top, Putin and others are such cowards that they are unable to figure a way towards CAPITALIST competition, but to destruction. This form is like the barbaric form of the Caesars of the Roman Empire. Vicious and vulgar people lacking any civility at all.
Trump and the fascist Republicans do the same thing to work us to destruction rather than reform when there is a problem. Do I need to give examples of all such destruction being proposed by Trump and the vicious fascist Republican leadership?
I was a Republican, but not today. When I described to a Yankee Republican how bad the Republican Party of Florida has become and how I no longer like them, this Yankee Republican said, “oh, you don’t like me because I am a Republican?” What a foolish remark to make. My reply was this. I like you because of who you are as a wonderful person, not because you are a Republican. Where did this damn idea emanate that a Yankee Republican would have no confidence in what they were about and how people reacted to them.
In terms of this wind power and other energy issues, I have a problem if there is stupidity of person who simply follows Fox like being a robot. But I still will like them so much that I express concern over problems such people might have. I am amazed they would rather support the wealthy fat pigs of big oil of Texas and other fascist Republicans when such people have NO consideration or concern for fellow Americans.
