Citizens Watch

My commentary to the Editors of the Press & Sun-Bulletin:

After 40 years away from Northern Tioga County and the Southern Tier (of NY), I am noting how much this area suffers from defunding of police forces here.  I recall when there was village police in Newark Valley and a NY State Troopers barracks in Berkshire.  No more for either of them.  Where is the closest troopers barracks to Northern Tioga County? I don’t even know.  Oh, that’s right, don’t find out from the newspaper, just do a dumb thing called “Google it.”  Or use your thumb on Facebook.  As a member of my own “Citizens Watch,” I wish to make a complaint about how Facebook and social media, Google, and condensing of local investigative reporting and information in news PRINT has destroyed America.  With such ideas for “Citizens Watch,” I can also provide evidence which supports what I say.

But without proper policing of the roads here, people go all kinds of speeds and tailgate.  They think they can use the shoulder of the roads for speeding (as I have observed) so much that four pedestrians in Northern Tioga have died, just over the past year or so. 

Tailgating on NY State Route 38-B is the worst.  Going up and down hills and with signs about deer crossings, it is a very dangerous thing for those who want to BREAK THE LAW and speed to do just what they want to do.  The only winter accidents I have seen with cars in the ditch were on Route 38-B.  They go so damn fast, they sometimes pass on the shoulder of the road.  They think, going up a hill, “slower vehicles i right lane” means all those going the speed limit, move aside so the jerks speeding at speed probably approaching 70 MPH or so can plow through – and kill someone.  Yes, and one pedestrian has been killed on
route 38-B.

Then, in one area of 38-B in Broome County, there is a hill where they put dotted lines going down the hill.  WHAT?  So someone who wants to break going down the hill, to maintain the speed limit, has to put up with jerks who pass going down the hill.  Maintain the speed limit and these jerks are allowed to pass going down the hill at 70 MPH.  Who the hell in the DOT put that damn dotted line there?  So, if we simply let it go down the hill and gain a fast momentum, it makes the illegal driver keep having to speed up to pass.  Makes so much sense. 

Then there is the thought that we should get on the shoulder should there be a tail-gating ass behind us.  No.  There are so many of them, I would have to travel on the shoulder of the road and give in to so many jerks who are doing this.  I refuse to give in and drive on the shoulder, so someone can speed.  Thus, the idea of “Citizens Watch.”

There is more.  Who in Broome County came up with the idea of 30 MPH in an area heading down to Oakdale Road (on a hill) where the population is less dense than where I live on a 55 MPH state route south of Newark Valley?  The area where I live is almost as densely populated as a long stretch of NY State 79 heading west into Ithaca where the speed limits are 40 to 45 MPH.  But drivers in front of my home are going  such a fast clip that when we pull out of our driveway, we don’t see a vehicle around the bend down the road from us and those jerks are going so fast, they come upon us and then tailgate when we are going the speed limit.

So, “Citizens Watch” and I am likely to be hated.  You know what.  I don’t give a damn.  Because I speak for community, not self and “me, me, me.”  I speak for being humane to one another and considering the CONSEQUENCES of behavior.  Now there is something which seems weird to many.  CONSEQUENCES?  As a college professor at the Associates degree level, we often gave students some action and asked them to do library, DATABASES, and INTERNET research (not just the stupid Google alone) to determine cause, effect, consequences.  Seems many people ;in the younger generations here have missed to boat in something Thomas J. Watson called, THINK – and THINK about the cause, effect, and consequences.  If you teach the kids this, they WILL learn it. 

I have more solutions to this problem than just Citizens Watch.  But no one wants to hear them, do they?  After all, “don’t talk to me about politics.”  OH?  Politics?  Solutions?  Politics is MEANT to DISCUSS, not ARGUE solutions and figure out cause, effect, and consequences. 

Besides Citizens Watch:

1. Bring back more police protection on the roads.  If oncoming traffic thinks it is so BRIGHT to flash lights as a warning to the speeders, then use helicopters AND SPEND THE MONEY ON THEM because it is far more justified than the stupid 60-year war on drugs which has yielded nothing (and rehab costs the government far less than a war on drugs, especially when considering marijuana is non-addictive! THINK about that before you shoot holes in what I say).

2.  Bring back more public summer school for students to learn some of the non-academic things in life.  Not only swimming and recreation, but also STUDENT DRIVER EDUCATION & SAFETY CLASSES.  I recall such classes.  I recall seeing the consequences of bad actions on the videos shown in the classes.  Really might make our stomach turn, but boy did it teach something about consequences – such as the truck drive who was not able to maneuver a road, ended up in an accident in which the big huge pipes in his load, came crashing into the cab of the truck and squashed the man against the steering wheel.  A very gruesome sight to see, but sure did teach something.  And maybe while we are at it, teach hunting safety with guns and bows and arrows.  We get the vehicular license for automobiles which recently killed four pedestrians here, how about teaching safety about guns and rifles?  Teaching that they could be used to hunt, but not on people.  It costs, right?  Well how much has the money for public schools, like police, been cut in this nation?  It is about time for us to take from the military-industrial complex and give to our kids, for the sake of future communities. 

3.  Officials in government use a little common sense regarding the roads and speed limits.  Why is there 30 MPH in such a low density population, but in a higher density population, people can go 70 MPH and never get caught BREAKING THE LAW?  Why is there no signal light and only a flashing light at the corner of NY-26 and NY-38B?  Why is it the same at the corner of NY-38 and NY-79? STUPIDITY and no one does anything about it.  Then there is the corner of NY-38 and NY-38B – NO LIGHT AT ALL.  Two times, I have come close to getting struck there by those running the STOP sign.  TWO TIMES – not only are people going to damn fast and have never learned the consequences of their actions, but no one seems to realize, as we learned in STUDENT DRIVER EDUCATION, that one comes to a COMPLETE STOP at a stop sign and TAKES THE TIME TO LOOK CAREFULLY IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.  With all the stupidity out there, all the more reason to put a signal light at NY-38 and NY-38B. 

Perhaps this all explains why there is so much pessimism here in the valley of Northern Tioga County?  And with the downgrading of business in this valley, we are FORCED to drive over that NY-38B hill and face the damn tailgaters, because so little can be found here in this area anymore, unlike more than 40 years ago.  And who is doing something about this for Northern Tioga County?  The Central Southern Tier Foundation? Who?  Who is helping to develop this area so it can become more self-sufficient and people don’t have to climb that hill into the next county?  Had Amazon built a warehouse on the site of the old factory here in this village, would it have helped?  Maybe some.  But alas, Amazon chose elsewhere. 

I am not a ranter.  I am not a bloviator.  I am a responsible member of the community who believes in humanity and coming together as community and concerned citizens.  We need citizen concern about the things I discuss (plus more).  So hate me as a ranter and a bloviator.  Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.  Gee!  So many are acting like Scarlett O’Hara!

Kudos… to Me

In 2005, I went above and beyond the call of duty as a professor in a community college. Not being required to do “publish or perish,” as at the university level, I was not required to be continuously published. In 2004, I took a Sabbatical. There was no requirement for publishing, but I felt I needed to do it. I worked on several publications during that term of the Sabbatical in 2004. One of the publications got published in a peer-reviewed international journal.

Being that I was also working on a graduate degree in music, I also spent the time preparing for a recital on voice I could do. Not required to do it, but my undergraduate degree in Music Education at Crane School of Music, Potsdam College, taught me that educators need to stay in touch with their performing skills. Based on that, I decided I needed to do a recital. I had the plans in place for the recital to be done at Union Congregational UCC, after working with several ladies at the church who liked my singing. In the month before the recital, I came down with a fatal blow to singers: laryngitis. I could not shed myself of this, even though I was following directions of one of my voice teachers which also included taking Musinex. The grouch on the commercials for Musinex won, in my case!

The grouches in my life should be pointed out. Oh, that’s right. I HAVE pointed them out and stupid common folk don’t pay attention!

I still have not completed that recital, but I am not required to do so. It was above the call of duty. Stick that in your hate, you freaking lovers of “right to work” in Florida, including the current governor, asshole Ron DeSantis. Add to that former governors Rick the Prick Scott and Jebbie Bush. The only good governors in Florida, over the past 20-30 some years, have been REPUBLICAN (back when there were good Republicans) Charlie Crist and the late Lawton Chiles. The rest of them have been dildo head bigots with authoritarian manure, proclaiming they have a “mandate” based on winning less than half the votes in Florida. Mandate shamdate.

This peer-reviewed article, as I mentioned (did I say that?), was published in an INTERNATIONAL journal and not published in the USA. I could get none of what I wrote on Sabbatical, including music reference works, in American publications. Oh, well. Se leve, I guess.

I did get to do presentations about what I had published, on my college’s Professional Teaching Learning Center circuit. I also did a presentation about the fake news used by Trump in 2016 and where it was generated from a Putin base in one of the former Soviet states. I collaborated with another person on that project. We uncovered what Tucker Carlson admitted, years later. That there was more money to be made with lies than with the truth. So keep shoveling the manure of lies, right? And there are no waders to help the people work their way through the manure.

To see someone on FB proclaim that the NBC News truck is like a 1940s garbage truck exemplifies what I am saying. The truck which is like a 1940s garbage truck is one run by Australian wealthy bigot, Rupert Murdock, and should have the Fox News logo on it, not NBC.

Perhaps every other news organization can err with a tiny bit of manure. But what comes from Fox is like shoveling chicken shit, with my dad, from the back of a truck, not the occasional piece of cow manure on the farms where I accompanied my dad so he could fix milk coolers when they broke down. In fact, the farmers tried to keep things as clean as possible so visitors did not have to step in any large pile of it. The smell was there, but not the manure.

I collaborated on this with another person and we were working right in Trump’s backyard, just a few miles from Mar-a-Lago.

Music is the universal language. Lang Lang, Yo Yo Ma, of Eastern decent, plus others, can tell you this (I have heard some of them say it). Why is Western culture not producing someone as good as Lang Lang on the piano? Or do we? We think the masses only love the scum which is being produced in America and the west and don’t accept classical music. Again. My experiences tell me that is another lie generated by lousy supply-side Reaganomics in the belief that music is ONLY about money-worship and nothing else. Thus the good stuff is often tossed aside, so as to line the pockets of the money-worshipers. Spotify and other music portals don’t survive the bull manure of money-worshipers. Yet, there are MARKETS OUT THERE for those who don’t like the popular stuff. There are markets out there for many of us who maintain an eclectic interest in music.

One time, I spoke with a choral director in Florida about the music of Karl Jenkins of Wales. His music is played on Classic FM, but never gets exposure in the USA. The two of us could not come up with an answer to that. The conclusion was that Jenkins had an audience, but it was not a massive market which accepts all the stuff, whether music made of manure or not.

Karl Jenkins has composed something similar to the concept of Beethoven. A large-scale music piece in which the message about war and peace are part of the music. Jenkins piece probably concentrates on this more than Beethoven did. Why not? What impact has Beethoven’s music had to get that message across, since about 1816 or so, referencing the manure practices of one called authoritarian dictator, Napoleon.

Jenkins includes Christian, Jewish, and Muslim styles in his music. He embraces a good part of the world in his presentations. He includes videos on a large screen, which demonstrate the ravages of war. Apparently, Americans feel too guilty of that. But wait. Most of those scenes were of Hitler in Europe. Must be too many Americans are Nazis and cannot tolerate the scenes of a bigoted Hitler? Feeling guilty, huh?

Jenkins has also composed music which incorporates African music. I said African, not African-American. Meant to differentiate the two, not to put down African-American music. I am a big fan of jazz, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Gloria Gaynor, the Supremes, the Mills Brothers, the Temptations…. on and on. I have an eclectic interest in music.

Oh. I guess I already said that.

But to those not paying attention. I have an eclectic interest in music. As did Dvorak when he composed the New World Symphony and then John Williams used some of that music when he composed music for a movie called Jaws. As did Aaron Copland when he incorporated American and Latin American folk music in his music. And used music for an American hoedown dance, too.

Karl Jenkins incorporating African music into some of his music is awesome. Spoken by a man with an eclectic interest in music. Oh, I said that already, did I not?

So why is the Jenkins music not programed on the stages of America? Where is the Mass for the Armed Man? It is designed in the form of a mass, but incorporates other world religions into the mass.

Leonard Bernstein, gay and Jewish man, wrote a mass based on the format of a Christian mass, too. Why is that no longer being programmed on American stages? Because dildo heads like Roman Catholic Ron DeSantis, wishes to censor because the people involved are gay and often many different religions, including Jewish. They also have many black people involved.

Perhaps Mark Robinson of North Carolina would only allow any event, as long as black non-gay and black non-Jewish ones are involved? Watch out, Sammy Davis, Jr., types! Not because he was gay, but because he was a black Jewish man.

Dildo head Roman Catholic Ron DeSantis tries to invoke an authoritarian dictatorship in Florida. He does so proclaiming a mandate given him by less than 50% of the voters of Florida. I have news for the son of a bitch. He was granted the right to lead, but not a right to have a mandate to do what dildo head Ron DeSantis wishes.

And is Ron DeSantis behind the lainbrained cardinals at the Vatican who wish to install another Benedict? So, he gets money and support from them, when there are people starving and without homes in the USA? There are people like me who wish we could serve in Congress, but we don’t have any possibility for getting money from barbaric corporate PACs or the ones of the Antichrist in the Vatican.

Pope Francis needs to excommunicate DeSatan. After all, his predecessor excommunicated a gay priest in South Florida who wrote a book proclaiming it is all wrong to consider “original sins” and only consider we were born with “original blessings” and “to err is human.” After all, guilt by sin gives ammunition to dildo heads like DeSatan to invoke their authoritarian control over other people. And we cannot get rid of the false idea of sin of gay folk. That way, those people like dildo head DeSatan has no weapon to BLACKMAIL and keep under their thumbs the repressed gay folk like a dildo head Lindsay Graham of South Carolina. Instead they try to bring down an openly gay man like Pete Buttigieg. What sickos to want such a world.

In 2018, I worked for Jeff Gillum to become Florida governor. The race was so very close in the end and dildo head DeSatan won by a super slim margin. DeSatan believes he has a mandate to rid Florida education about the travesties of injustice – TRUE FACTS – from the books. After all, he hates the fact that someone who is descended from those who survived such travesties of justice came so close to beating the white supremacist. Like Japanese culture, bone head, dick head, dildo head DeSatan just measures life by whether you win or lose and tough noogies to those who loose.

A gay priest gets excommunicated by another bone head, dick head, dildo head named Benedict. But Francis would not excommunicate Ron DeSatan dildo head authoritarian? Who on the Cardinals push Francis NOT to do that? Supporters of Benedict, as they throw their money around for only THEIR cause, not the causes of the TRUE JC. Human causes overlapping the cause of the word of God made flesh? That alone is blasphemy. Apparently, it is being done by some of the cardinals in Rome. Hypocrites in Rome. JC spoke against hypocrites in the 1st Century. I speak out against hypocrites today.

So, in 2005, I wrote a peer-reviewed article about music information literacy. This is related to music as the universal language, but sadly I did not say that in my article, as I wrote about the details of music information literacy. I did in later years, as I presented similar information in presentations of the college PTLC. And another was a presentation about how videos were incorporated into music and voila, we got the music video, with the original pioneers of music videos dating back to the days of the Beatles, etc., but really picking up STEAM with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones with the music video with the voice of Vincent Price in Thriller. Is it true that Quincy Jones studied music composition with the same French woman with whom Aaron Copland and numerous other America composers studied? Have not answered that question conclusively.

STEAM is also related to music information literacy. I learned about information literacy from a former professor in library science at the upstate NY Syracuse University. Music information literacy is different from music literacy. Music literacy means you have mastered the ideas and can practice such ideas, for performing music. Music information literacy is about incorporating information we learn about music (as in my Music Appreciation classes; as in the educational videos produced by Howard Goodall of Britain) into our lives, along with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM without the A to make it STEAM.

Perhaps my article about music information literacy helped boost my ability to push for STEAM to replace STEM? I have no idea. If so, those in power would likely have fear that they went against Rick the Prick and Ron DeSatan, so perhaps I better shut up about that and not receive recognition for what I accomplished? After all, I went against authoritarian assholes like Rick the Prick and Ron DeSatan, so I need to shut up? Yes. I will call them pricks, assholes, dildo heads, dick heads. I make no apologies because that is what they are! I was always on the other side of the table from such pricks who had no idea about what it meant to be human beings and demonstrated it with their authoritarian regimes. I don’t take kindly to authoritarian regimes, as they grab people along with them, thinking by such people with their emotions and not their brains, how detrimental it is to them and their progeny, for going along. I

am blunt, for sure. And I make no apologies for that. If those reading this don’t like it, then I pity them for their closed minds which hurt American society. Likely giving myself accolades for my accomplishments in life hurts me more than helps me. Again. I pity Americans who simply look through rose colored glasses and come up with fantasies about taxes and authoritarian assholes like Rick the Prick and Ron DeSatan.

For I work for THE PEOPLE, not just for myself. I have a broader view of what it takes to be human beings which I learned from the musical Hair, while a teenager. And yes, I applaud my dad for taking me to see that musical and those who don’t like it can simply shut their mouths with their pro-puritanical anti-prurient interests they maintain with an interest to impose authoritarian control over people should people not go along with their puritanical twitty ideas.

The words of various songs are in my heart, as Lawrence Welk always side, “keep a song in your heart.” The ones for human beings and the worldwide human community are “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing in perfect harmony.” Also, Aretha Franklin’s R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Stevie Wonder’s “Love’s in need of Love.” The Beatles, “Love, Love, Love.” John Lennon’s “Imagine.” George Harrison’s “Here Comes the Sun.” Shania Twain’s “From this Moment.” Gershwin’s “Love is Here to Stay.” Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend.”

There are songs of satire regarding love, due to people being hurt by love in relationships. Gloria Gaynor, “I will Survive.” Tina Turner, “What’s Love Got to Do with it.” The Song, “What the World Needs Now.”

The one which stands out because it is about the concept of the Greek word, agape, which is the love to describe God and His love for God’s children, is The Hilltop Singers and “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing in Perfect Harmony.”

There are plenty of others. From love songs in musicals and operas (i.e., Pippin- “Love Song”).

This is not my two-cents for the day, but my double-nickel for the day. Like it or lump it. I don’t care. I only hope it does permeate some minds who wish to learn, not just follow. 🖖

P.S. My hand signal in the above emoji does not have the symbol for peace, as projected in America. The two fingers known as the “victory sign, but also used for peace.” On an international basis, I cannot give that two-fingered salute because in some English-speaking nations, the two-fingered salute is the same as the middle finger in America. Thus, my emoji with four fingers comes from Mr. Spock, the Vulcan, on Star Trek and means, “live long and prosper.” That is my wish for all in the human race, no matter who they are or where they are on life’s journey, they are welcomed by me and millions of other people in the world who are evolved past barbarism and who seek a civilized society of coexistence. 🙂 🖖

Thank you, Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi was correct in her statements about Google monopoly. Any company like Google which makes the consumers on the demand side of the market feel helpless by changing settings without the permission of the person who owns the computer is in violation of that person’s right to run the computer as the person sees fit to do. What is worse is the way the installation of an app on a person’s computer is hidden so one cannot remove such a Google app. Go to uninstall and try to do an uninstall of Google Drive. What is the message? “Program is still active so cannot be uninstalled.” ACTIVE? WHERE? Try to find where it is active. All designed to confuse the consumer in the same way as Trump snippets and other crap from Repugnican hateful liars, slanderers, or those who use baseball bats against human beings, like the Mafia, in order to scare people into submission. If one is not a wimp, as are some in the Democratic and Republican Parties (remain nameless), then you are safe. Otherwise they fear those who stand up for what is right, like Nancy Pelosi, and dredge up lies and baseball bats to try to win – as with Machiavellian theory – the ends justifies the means. That means, it matters not how vicious, vengeful, and barbaric Repugnicans can be, the end justifies the means.

I am a Lincoln Republican who got sick of the Repugnican Party of Florida. I am a proud Yankee who is sick and tired of Repugnicans and their lies, slander and libel which is used with snippets on Facebook or Twitter to attack those who take a stand for the people. I take a stand for WE THE PEOPLE. I believe in what Thomas Jefferson wrote, “all men are created equal.” Except I put that in the context of the 21st Century and say, “all human beings are created equal.” Thomas Jefferson got a fight in the 18th Century in trying to put it that way. Where did the trouble derive? From Dixie states of Georgia and the Carolinas where the white male bastards were fearful of what it meant to be equal to others. Sad to say. But by building up Dixie over the past 50 to 60 years, America is heading back in the same direction of what Thomas Jefferson faced in the 18th Century.

Repeat. I am in favor of WE THE PEOPLE, the first three words of the U.S. Constitution. I am in favor of the statement, “all human beings are created equal.” And to take it one step further and be real blunt. If an older woman is raped (see Stanley Kubrik’s A Clockwork Orange) and ends up pregnant, the life of the fetus is NOT MORE IMPORTANT than the life of an older woman. Medical science can prove the risks to an older woman’s LIFE due to a pregnancy at an older age. This example points out a life and death circumstance for older women.

But it applies to any woman because their life CAN be threatened, especially under any circumstances.

In my mind, there is a fine line when considering no threat to the woman and no rape. In this case, there are more PROACTIVE choices for contraception and abortion becomes a reactionary choice.

An interesting point. The ones who support reproductive rights are considered liberal or progressive (socially progressive as we were called when I was a Republican). That is also referred to as being proactive or, as taught in the Boy Scouts, “be prepared.” Abortion as a contraceptive choice is reactionary, not progressive and proactive. Who are the ones opposed to abortion? Those who love being reactionary. Abortion as a contraception choice is reactionary, not proactive. No consistency which can create something called, “common sense.”

Makes me wonder whether it is the reactionary ones, opposed to abortions, who are secretly obtaining abortions. Possibility because I recall Roman Catholics who claimed to oppose contraception but used them anyway. We were told to keep that information”a secret.” “Keep it a secret when some Roman Catholic guy had a vasectomy.”

Jesus Christ called such people hypocrites. So, we have five Roman Catholics on the SCOTUS. I can stereotype them as all being hypocrites. Should I? Most were placed there by Repugnicans, with the help of big business PACs who put money before the interests of the people of America. We the people, in order to form a more perfect union… All human beings are created equal.

And the love of money is evil and usually behind the promotion of waging war. Putin, an atheist, uses the Russian Orthodox Church to promote his war. Cannot criticize the Russians without pointing out how much Repugnicans in America use Christian churches to promote war among our own people. Or. To point out how Texas oil men used money as the basis for sending Americans to Vietnam in the 1960s.

We the people and we are all created equal. The foundation of America. Go ahead. Hate what I say. Or perhaps hate ME because I say it. If it bothers you when I say this, perhaps it is because you just want to have fun in life and what I say might interrupt your fun? Your life of putting a foto of the food you ate last night on Facebook. Just what we love to see, right? But hey, it’s fun!

And when such hate permeates America to such a large degree, what will America get? Something better? ‘Splain it to me, please.

Thank you, Nancy Pelosi, for your service to we the people, all created equal as children of God. Thank you, Nancy Pelosi for not being a Democratic Party wimp who turns over and plays “dead.” Sorry there are so many Repugnicans in America who are afraid of people who promote “we the people” and that all human beings are created equal, the foundation of America. My ancestors who were wealthy in America and helped build this nation (not avoid paying taxes), lived and died for this nation, would be pleased.

What’s on My Mind This Morning? Bigots and Hackers

What’s on your mind? I am asked this question by Facebook. I just experienced interference on my modem connection from outside this home. “Oh, no, that never happens,” according to Spectrum. “Oh, no, that never happens,” according to Best Buy. “Oh, no, that never happens,” according to Verizon.

So, Spectrum gives me a new modem and a new router. Guess what? It still happens, even with a new one. No guards in place to protect my privacy from bigots who, with “smiling faces,” are cowards working as snipers on the Internet.

Two times and my scanning was “cancelled” because the printer is on the wifi. My connection was also “cancelled.” When signing back in, I noticed another wifi account which is not mine. TC8715DB2.

Is this from the neighborhood or someone with “remote access” at a far distance? I know, from working with IT in an organization, that “remote access” allows people to spy on employees. Why would this not exist for bigots who get a thrill out of being in opposition to one who is firm in his convictions about endorsing humanity, human peace and justice, and human equality? Is law enforcement going to tell me it only exists with IT in an organization? Oh, well. Perhaps that is the answer? But no one apparently is firm in convictions about humanity, human peace and justice, and human equality? Silly me.

So. I call them bigots. They call me a fag? Speaking the truth about bigots is not like derogatory remarks and slander (such as that of Molinaro) against good people. Get a grip.

Adam Smith, Moral Sentiments, Gay Issue

Theories of moral sentiment. Adam Smith addresses ideas about self-control with regard to passions. While this assessment would tend to agree with the ideas expressed in this essay from 2010, for the privacy of relationships, and the government not be involved (due to privacy issues), I have questions. In other words, self-control and passion really involves an assessment of an individual’s ideas for promiscuity or no promiscuity. It brings forth an assessment of privacy regarding monogamous sexual relationships and three or more individuals involved in sexual relationships. The issue here is not about heterosexual or homosexual, as evangelical puritans, afraid that someone somewhere is having a good time. Such people feel as if they have a divine right to judge and use people like Trump, DeSantis, Rick Scott, and others to invoke their autocracy forcing people to live in their way.

Therefore, am I correct to say that Smith made a statement of “morality” which was in a broader context than addressing homosexual and heterosexual ideas?

After all, traditionalist puritanical autocrats put forth the ideas of Sodom and Gomorrah. S&G (Genesis 19), if one reads it carefully, is really about the broader context which is addressed by Smith. Passions described in the events of S&G are about hatred of immigrants (xenophobia?) and using rape to demonstrate the hatred of immigrants, whether male or female. Ironically, a parallel account of this activity is found at Judges 19 when a woman gets killed due to rape.

In reading Smith’s Theories of Moral Sentiment, one can come to the conclusions I address. Your 2010 article seems to want to address the idea of privacy. Is this meant as a means of “being nice” to the plutocratic autocratic puritans in America today?

In a sense, Trump, Putin, DeSantis, Rick Scott, and others are doing nothing to abide by what this article says, as they try to push to put government BACK into the privacy of homosexuals, push homosexuals back into segregated closets, and help to re-introduce strong blackmailing of gay folks.

These people use religion to push an old idea which is the basis for the letters of the “f” word: “fornication under consent of King (or queen).” In this case, we can say, “fornication under consent of aristocratic business leaders” and then we can easily say the lack of privacy is NOT in the hands of a libertarian anarchist type of government, as Citizens United pushes those with money to vote and control the government and predominate over the will of the people and democracy. They use the ways of anti-homosexual companies like Chick-Fil-A (and now I have heard of Walgreens, Disney, and others) which is putting money forth to political candidates. It is ending up being those with a love of money who are working to control society and push for “fornication under consent of aristocratic business leaders” like Chick-Fil-A and others.

In other words. Trump and Putin and others can do whatever they wish to do regarding fornication, groping of women, etc., but they wish to dispose of, through old bullying tactics, those who are gay.

In a sense, this says let us just skip past the fact that Trump does not live up to Adam Smith’s ideas on moral sentiment, whether sexual or in terms of economics. Thus, to handle this, simply be “kind and nice” in trying to speak about “no government intervention in private matters?” After more than a decade since this essay was written, what has been accomplished? What is the intent here and how do you intend to move forward for the sake of moral sentiment towards ALL human beings.

Silly me for concluding that theologian, Adam Smith, with his “moral sentiments,” did NOT endorse the love of money. Even Joe Scarborough and others have written about this, with regard to economics and commerce.

Thus, when I view a documentary about a wealthy man who pulled himself up by the bootstraps from nothing, George F. Johnson, identifies a need to have a “sense of morality,” I don’t take his words as an endorsement of morality with regard to sexual identity or racist ideas. It just happens that society at that time was immersed in Jim Crow and the idea of bullying gay folks. If I take Mr. Johnson’s remarks as being related to ideas to endorse human equality due to “morality,” am I correct with regard to Mr. Johnson? Is there someone who just wishes to embrace the puritanical ways who finds it more interesting to shoot holes in what I say because “it’s just an interpretation,” rather than doing what another Binghamton, NY, person said, “THINK.” That means to consider and “THINK.” When puritanical autocratic people, living in judgment like a god, shoot holes in what I say, they never work to consider what I say in the context of humanity, but these idiots uphold their traditionalism with examples of past hatred. It is good to seek traditions at time, especially when considering humanity, human justice, human equality, and human rights. It is despicable to seek traditionalism.

The examples of both Johnson and Watson were to attempt to endorse ideas of humanity among their employees and do so by making money on this basis, not on the basis of a predominance of love of money, which is evil and endorsed by Russian immigrant, Ayn Rand, and others who taught the generation under the age of those of the World War II generation.

What does the Adam Smith Institute think about what I say?

Independent & Strong? NOT! Following Foreign Influence of Putin

Dear Editors:

With all due respect for Mr. Murphy and your newspaper never checking the accuracy from your “My Turn” writers, I have some contentions with what Mr. Murphy wrote this past Sunday. The attached file explains what I am saying.

Since the American Revolution, history tells us several times that infrastructure projects made America strong AND great. The NY Governor Clinton’s Erie Canal in upstate New York. He was scoffed at as it was called “Clinton’s Ditch.” Flagler’s railway along the east coast of Florida. Carnegie’s railway across America. The interstate highway system put forth by President Eisenhower. Mr. Murphy scoffs at Biden and the Democrats with their infrastructure plan. Meanwhile Republicans Scott and DeSantis helped put a stop to guidelines for a Surfside City condo near Miami. How many people died from the lack of infrastructure development? How many people (like me) lost out on our personal finances as we invested in a home along the VOTER-APPROVED fast speed rail system in Florida, stopped by REPUBLICAN Scott (and likely agreed upon stopping it by Trump and DeSantis).  Even the Louisiana Purchase (Jefferson) and the purchase of Alaska (scoffed at and called “Seward’s Folly) have yielded to America’s strength. Today, such things would be opposed by the Republicans today and the money they get in a corrupt, immoral, and unethical way would help stop such projects.  Mr. Murphy does not even understand what makes America great, strong, and independent.

I have already pointed out how the lack of peace WITH justice, as done by Trump only serves to give more power to Putin and the Russians, and the Saudi sheiks with ISIS and the Taliban gaining power. It was not Joe Biden who did this. In fact, during the Obama – Biden administration, we brought down a member of the Saudi sheik’s family. No commendation was given strongly in the media to Obama and Biden, as well as the military and perhaps state department which accomplished this take-down. No. Americans are more interested in take-downs in wrestling and the violence which prevails on television, including supposed “family” entertainment from Disney. 

Mr. Murphy and others need to grow up and mature. Such people need to try to understand more fully what is happening.

For the Press & Sun-Bulletin, it needs to consider the lack of accuracy in a message like the one that Mr. Murphy provided. If nothing else, nothing should stop GOOD journalists from notating the message with EVIDENCE, FACTS, STATISTICS, INFORMATION which is contrary to what a Murphy says. That is NOT censorship, since it is business which is processing the data. It is journalists processing the data, not a government.

If government is at fault, it was a white supremacists CONTROLLING the government and with power and money DICTATING THEIR WHITE SUPREMACIST BIGOTRY.  For example, a senator (Helms of North Carolina) who manipulated the CENSORSHIP, by a GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVE, of the original Star Trek series on NBC TV in the mid- to late 1960s. The reason? So as to dictate to America that inter-racial kisses should not be shown on television. William Shatner ended up homeless and on the street living in a pickup truck, as a result.  Not until the Democrats took control in 1976 did the popularity of the DEMAND SIDE of the market take off and the Wrath of Khan became a hit. Add to that new Star Trek series and the Star Wars series.

Stupid people like Mr. Murphy and others who spout out the “greatness” of an America who get their play book from Putin and other dictators, Trump, Scott, McConnell, DeSantis, the roles are now reversed. These Trump-like (no Putin-like) cronies, for quite a long time now, have been pushing a strategy, with the help of dolts like Australian immigrant Rupert Murdock (owns Fox and Wall Street Journal), to create a centralized control of business and media by wresting control from local news media, curtailing and destroying local business. Murdock has even been quoted about the ruination of local broadcast media. Just because local Fox 40 is part of the Fox network does NOT indicate that Murdock id not doing this. That is ridiculous. How many times do people have hidden agendas for destruction while smiling just as nice as some politicians do. These people are evil money-loving business people. Stupid people do not even consider this going on.  It has been going on historically. It is about time to stop living backwards and move forward by LEARNING from the bad and evil things from history.

For instance, the SCOTUS before the American Civil War made their decision inn Dred Scott case based on too damn many YANKEE SCOTUS justices who “felt sorry for the white south of Dixie,” so did not base their decision on justice, but how to “appease the south.”  Freaking lousy YANKEE justices of that day.  Yes. We can gain peace by throwing the towel in and nixing justice being done for humanity. As a result of the Dred Scott Decision, those damn SCOTUS justices were a bunch of traitors by not following the words of the preamble to our U.S. Constitution. They refused to ensure “domestic tranquility” for those people then and for their “posterity” or future generations. Along came Reconstruction, then vengeful white people suppressed voters and lynched black people who did not go along (Jim Crow).

This systemic racism is still around today, while the KKK, John Birch Society, and even those who CLAIM to follow Christ, are ruining domestic tranquility. And if someone speaks out against this, then WE get blamed for being contentious and not going on with white racist dictators and thus ruining “domestic tranquility.” America is not STRONG (as the headline read with Murphy’s turn writing) under the guise of this situation, while Murphy credits Trump with peace in the world and America being “strong.” Bullshit.  In the world, Trump and the Republican leadership is supporting Putin and other oligarchs who try to put out propaganda as to how to achieve peace, but never, ever, ever, ever, ever, do they pronounce how there can be “…justice for all.” NEVER.  The only justice they want is for the justice which comes from dictatorial control by bigots who have hatred for groups of people of color and different sexual identities. They have hatred ro those of us who speak out with criticism and bring about vengeance against me and others, rather than taking us seriously as our remarks are important to a society which is SUPPOSED to be made up of Christians, words of the preamble of the Constitution, and not being hypocritical when repeating words like “…liberty and justice for all” or “… life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” 

Maybe if I keep repeating the truth over and over again it will become the truth?

P.S. To the stupidity of people who call themselves Christians, let me add this. They worship an evil god, not the true CREATOR, MAKER, DEISTS from whom we are made in the image of a LOVING AND CARING GOD.  They make freaking lousy claims by twisting th words of Christ. For instance, Christ said there would be divisions in families due to the name of Christ. He did not ENCOURAGE such actions, but predicted and prophesied such things would happen.  There are stupid Christians who embrace the words of Christ here and CLAIM we are supposed to be acting this way and thus shun those of us who are not the same as they are, not allowing us to  partake in communion or to attend weddings . It happened to me, due to a lousy bunch of Christians. I heard this happening to a friend of mine who has a gay son.  The married partner of the son was not allowed by a controlling bitch who calls herself “born again” and sets herself up like a GODDAMN god of some kind.  Who the hell are such bitches in dictating that a gay married man NOT be allowed at a wedding? The only words I have is this. Trump and his cronies do NOT make America strong and great and independent, by endorsing this. Companies like Chick-Fil-A and others which push for anti-gay candidates (who hide their true intent) and measurements, in the name of some evil ideas about who Christ is. They need to be strung up by their balls and/or tits. That is how angered I am about these people. I have to ask, what have I ever done, in achieving my happiness, to bring about lousy people identifying as “born again” Christians who want to bring Maxwell’s silver hammer upon my head, unless I go to conversion therapy or give in by refusing to come to grips with who I am, as the TRUE God made me. These people are acting as if THEY are gods and dictate to us. Puritanical shitheads are those who are upset because someone somewhere is having fun and achieving a happiness. They must not be able to achieve confidence, self-control and happiness, that is all I can view in this situation.    If you are good thinking on this measure, then don’t focus on bad words I use, but join me in what I say. If you don’t like the bad worrds, don’t use them. I don’t DICTATE to others, as some people who claim to be Christians just love to do.

Trump, According to a “My Turn” Writer in the P&S-B

Dear Editors:

Your “My Turn” columnist (3/13/2022) gave credit to Trump for achieving peace in the world, for America to become “strong and independent.” The examples given were about peace in the Middle East. One cannot argue with some of those points made. What was not said by the “My Turn” writer was that, in each case, there may have been peace, but in order to achieve the peace, there was no justice. For much of the peace was in support of the Saudi Arabian sheiks. During the Trump years, we also witnessed the sheiks ordering beheadings of their own people by using swords. They are awful pictures of injustice towards human beings. Then we saw the ISIS, supported by Putin and the Arab sheiks, who did the same thing.  In other words, justice, to Putin, the Arabian sheiks, and Trump, is how they define justice. If one does not agree, like Hitler and Stalin, then they are executed. By silencing the opposition, they achieve peace. We cannot achieve peace without justice for all.

In the same way, Trump achieved a “peace” in Afghanistan and put our pullout on a timetable. Biden chose to work with the opposition and stuck to the timetable established by Trump. Trump is applauded for achieving the peace while Biden gets slammed for removing troops from Afghanistan.  It appears Biden and the Democrats are “damned if they do and damned if they don’t.”

As far as the issue of inflation is concerned, there is evidence that the tariffs imposed by Trump on one nation (China) have had an impact on increased inflation. Biden is dragging his feet about getting rid of the tariffs and then Biden gets slammed for inflation.  Again, Biden and the Democrats are “damned if they do and damned if they don’t.”

Trump never achieved domestic peace within this nation. He emboldened many people in opposition to Democrats and the war on the COVID-19 pandemic. He could have provided supplies by invoking the Defense Protection Act. He could have done this at the time Gov. Cuomo and other governors (both Republican and Democrat) needed them. Cuomo ends up getting blamed and Trump does not. Again. Democrats are “damned if they do and damned if they don’t.” Republicans are simply above the law because of the fundagelical crap in American religion with their god of hatred. 

In the midst of all this, Trump, DeSantis, Santorum, McConnell, Rick Scott, Scott Walker (Wisconsin) all get to spend their time on suppression of voting, power in gerrymandering, bigotry towards gay folks and people with colored skin, while ignoring the domestic issues about human justice, human equality, and humanity in general.  In fact, some of them are spending more time in coming up with anti-gay and anti-colored-people rules for denying the ability for human equality. In effect, they are working against the very preamble of the U.S. Constitution which talks about maintaining domestic peace (“domestic tranquility”) and are hypocrites each time they repeat the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag and say, “…liberty and justice for all.” There is no “domestic tranquility,” due to Trump and the Republican cronies who dwell on anti-humanity legislation and legitimizing the wealthy and elitist plutocrats who don’t want a democracy because a democracy is dependent on a middle class. In this sense, Trump and his cronies, not following the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, are traitors to America and its democracy.

Car Shield Jerks, the Path, & Human Equality

Too bad Car Shield is advertising on Valerie Bertinelli’s show today (3/10/2022). I like Bertinelli. Too bad.

If seven of 10 people are supposedly thinking the country is on the wrong path, are these people getting the wrong information from our nationalized news system which has eliminated, destroyed, and curtailed local news newspapers and broadcasting? This “new norm” of news is just like the way news is covered in fascist autocracies and communist regimes. I wonder.

I think the country has been on the wrong path. But it is not recently in which it got on the wrong path. The nationalized news sources have mesmerized masses of people to believe it is just the more recent.

I believe the wrong path started with Sleepy Ronnie in the Cabinet said, “government is the problem” and so many people in the generations younger than the World War II and the older Baby Boom generation have taken this to heart by trashing the Democrats when Democrats do some good things when they run the government? Or is it due to the supply-side economics and deregulation put in place by Sleepy Ronnie in the Cabinet? Because we have ended up destroying small businesses, local news coverage which works to uncover local corruption, immorality and unethical behavior in business (such as a restaurant that hides the lack of a seafood by cusing another one but claiming it is the actual)., and handing local broadcasting airwaves over to weaker signals so the air waves can put more mobile phones online. The later? Verizon and others run the FCC so government is NOT the problem, but big corporate conglomerates pushing buttons in the government are the problem.

There are plenty of other examples of nationalized big corporations on the supply-side which take no notice of the demand-side and don’t give a damn, as with the small businesses of America, now being destroyed, did when they were really what America great as the backbone of this nation. The problem is that government does not regulate these nationalized corporations as much as it once did. It is just the opposite, many of these big corporations think they are above the law and regulate themselves and then control the government in a corrupt manner.

Now it becomes scary to discover that many of these big businesses have worked things out with foreign despots like Putin, control the Republican Party, and are pushing for changes in government which has recognized colored people, gay folks, and many others, in the name of human equality. Chick-Fil-A with a menu with carbs and breading which is not good for diabetics, as with the rest of fast food operations, are working to screw gay people over. They think that making money with carb-based fast food, they have more of a right to force their hatred of gay folks and push for conversion therapy, make those of us in same-sex marriages feel bad by pushing us back into the closet. They are not making money by means of the likes or dislikes of the food they prepare. They are making money by trying to attract puritanical hateful people who wish to force their puritanical religious beliefs, based only on traditionalism, on our society.

I have to ask. How has our sexual identity, same-sex marriages, and simply enjoying life without going backwards and restricted to gay bars, hurt these people? Please answer this question. Have I hurt any of these people? If so, what have these bastards fabricated? We live our lives in peace and seek justice with human equality. How the hell does that hurt the CEO of Chick-Fil-A, the company, and others who go there to help feed the hatred of the corporation so it can use the profits to FORCE their lousy ways of hatred upon society, destroy adoption practices of the LGBTQ+, destroy our peace, justice, and happiness, force us into segregation in a closet, and FORCE conversion therapy upon us? How the hell have we hurt these bastards so as to deserve their cherry-picking hands to grab what they wish to grab from a Bible and other sources so as to validate what they wish to do to a group of people?

What have we done to make 7 of 10 people think this nation is now on the wrong path? Please answer this and tell me. Otherwise, I think all of those who tarnish our images are nothing but SOBs. What else should I think? You damn cowards unwilling to speak and discuss these matters with us, out of fear you might find out you are wrong? And that is blame to put on us? If so, you cowards and bullies are nothing but bastards and SOBs. I don’t know what else to say when everyone just remains silent and lets silence grow like a cancer.

Sad thing. Everyone seems to be letting silence like a cancer grow. Is this in order to hide the true feelings? A person feels scoffed at and pushed aside when this happens. So, why do I try to determine what is the truth? This after watching a program early this morning about seeking peace. But the main idea was to seek the truth, in order to reach peace. So, we have to wait until we are ruined by the dictatorial ones before we get the truth? That is what happens when silence like a cancer grows.

wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” Add-on: Broad, wholesome, charitable views of humans and things cannot be acquired by remaining silent and not allowing the truth to be known and shared with others ,due to a nationalized news system which curtails the knowledge base at the local level. People then live in a “box” and refuse to look outside the box (of course, in case you don’t know, this is a figurative expression with the word, “box”). I could use a vulgar word because this makes me so angry. But then, it m atters not whether I can get my point across by using either vulgar language or not. Everyone just sits on their own opinions and make that their “box” from which, “how dare you remove me from my own box.” Good. Go and curl up like a dog in a box. And die. When I am shoved into a corner in this manner and wondering how much dictatorial people might push me and others into a corner; wonder how much such dictatorial folks will take my freedom, liberty, life, peace and justice from me and about 10% of this population away from us; wonder how much we will go backwards, be segregated and shoved into a closet. And don’t tell me “it’s not important” or “don’t worry.” As a gay man I have heard those words in the past and many times. We need to move forward with what we have which 10% of the population (LGBTQ+) have gained. We WON’T take for granted all that we have earned in the form of happiness and allow Putin lovers to do this.
