The intent of this blog is to promote human equality, human progress, human peace and justice, and optimism. To accomplish this, to encourage the discussion of ideas after identifying and discovering problems, and then creating positive solutions for "we the people," in order to provide for the "general welfare" and "domestic tranquility" of America now and its "posterity" into the future. To encourage an emphasis on separation of religion and state for all, no matter if this is for those "of faith" in a Maker / Creator (Deists, God-loving people, Christians, various people of spirituality) and atheists or agnostics.

Healthcare

Dear Editors:

My Grandpa Willet Cornwell (1886-1948)was a resident of Newark Valley from about the turn of the 20th Century or so until he built homes and lived in one in the Watson Boulevard / Hooper Road area of Endwell.  He had a home, sawmill, farm in Newark Valley.  His farm was on Irish Settlement Road.  He had dairy cows within the village of Newark Valley.

During the 1940s and from his farm on Irish Settlement Road, he sold hay to Cuban horse farmers.  My father transported the hay to New York City barges where the hay was loaded and then transported to Cuba.  We believe that a library colleague of mine, her family exiled from Cuba when she was 12 years old and Castro confiscated her family horse farms in the area where we believe the hay from Newark Valley was being sent.

In 1948, Grandpa Cornwell was living with in Endwell.  My father, just out of the war, was living with them in Endwell, but working for Ross Tappan & Sons (Newark Valley), as he had been doing before his service in the Pacific.  According to the story shared with me by my father during his last few months alive, in early 2018, Grandpa ended up in a hospital (TBD, what hospital?) in 1948.  After a few days, according to my father, Grandpa Willet learned what the hospital bill was going to be.  He realized he did not have the funds to pay for that hospital stay. He checked himself out of the hospital and went to his home in Endwell.  My dad told me that he departed for work in Newark Valley one day and got a call that his father had died at home.  Grandpa Willet was only 62 years of age at the time of his death.

As a result, lawyers swooped in and left my grandmother with virtually nothing. At some point in time, my father purchased an apartment building in Newark Valley.

Side note. That apartment building still stands, located directly across from the Brook Street junction with Main Street. It is located across the brook from a home I am told was built in the late 18th or early `9th Century.  The home was known as the Silby home.  Purportedly, it had been a tavern where the stage coaches could stop when coming through Newark Valley, where travelers could imbibe in the spirits of the day (something travelers today cannot do in Newark Valley, due to the dictatorial ones who insist no one should drink in an establishment in Newark Valley, following the lousy prohibition put in place by the WCTU and then enforced for “law and order” purposes by the Republicans under Herbert Hoover and others. The apartment building had been converted from a furniture store to apartments when my dad purchased it.

Nevertheless, my father moved my grandmother into  an apartment he built in the back section of that building.  That was where she lived until she passed in 1962.

This historical background provides information (in excess?) for what I am about to say.

here we are.  The year 2022.  Repeat.  In 1948, Grandpa Willet Cornwell died because he was not able to afford healthcare.  My dad was available to help his mother, but he always maintained a sour taste in his mouth for lawyers.  That is how we all act, right? Don’t worry because we can overcome the obstacles, right?  To me, I don’t ask WHY, but ask WHY NOT something better for all of us?

Private healthcare, according to tRump and the Republicans is what we need. Demonstrates just how much these people don’t know about “private” healthcare.  I know what it was at one time.  Three country doctors in Newark Valley, as a kid growing up here.  That was PRIVATE healthcare.  How many doctors does Newark Valley have now?  We are lucky if we can get an appointment with the one doctor in town who comes from UHS and located in an office on Whig Street.

Let us return to the 1970s.  The three doctors were all retiring.  Newark Valley did not have a doctor.  My mother, Margaret (Schoonmaker) Cornwell, worked on a committee in Newark Valley, acting as a health services coordinator so as to find a new medical doctor.  They found a MD.  A Jewish MD.  Questions still remain whether the people here had a hidden agenda of anti-Semitism because none had experienced through physical exams, so tried to push the guy out of town.  My mother defended him, for various reasons, but particularly for the sake of her family.

In light of the recently released Ken Burns documentary about the Holocaust, let me explain that it was discussed in the documentary about the anti-Semitism which was buried in hidden agendas of many white Gentiles in the USA who were claiming other “problems,” so as to keep the anti-Semitism buried.  “Other things” which could be attributed to white Gentiles and others, as well. Even today, some who keep this a hidden agenda while identifying anything they are able to identify as being a problem. As fictional character, Perry Mason would often say, “don’t lie to me.” Now there was a representation of what a good lawyer REALLY is.

Other information about the 1970s which validates why rural areas went without private healthcare?  (1) My mother mentioned that the problem the committee to find doctors in the 1970s found was due to the changes in society for a predominant love of money.  Doctors were not going into practices as general practitioners (also known as primary care physician), but were looking to make money as specialists.  As specialists, doctors needed to make more money in urban areas where the population was more dense than in rural populations.  With the old private country doctors in Tioga County, they could refer, if necessary, to a specialist.  Otherwise, the general practitioner took care of patients, from annual physical exams and other matters.  I seem to recall that the “specialist” pediatrician my mom used for me was a Dr. Nichols in Owego.  Only memories from my mom and what she said, not exacting research on it.  When she used a pediatrician for me, it was in the 1950s.

I recall Dr. Nichols performing as Harold Hill in the Ti-Awahga Players 0production of The Music Man.

(2) According to various sources, the private health insurance situation changed.  H.R. Haldeman (Watergate burglar) under Richard Nixon, had created an underwriting firm for health insurance. This opened the door for supply0-side economics in private health care.  According to some sources, this opened the door for medical specialists while GPs went by the wayside and there was no interest in pursuing a GP career.  How many times, today, have we witnesses a shortage of GPs, except for those IMMIGRANTS who come here from other nations.  No Americans wish to pursue such a career.  Amazon brags about developing careers in technology and robots instead.  And educators who know best are shelved in trying to encourage education for anyone who can find a niche in what our society really and truly needs.  Our reputations as educators are tarnished by lawyers who take control and blame all the public education problems on the faculty.

Then we have to listen to the BS from tRUMP and Republicans about “private healthcare.”  Let me discuss this matter.

  • A public hospital doctor who saw this coming when Reagan began to work for privatization of healthcare and hospitals.  What that MD, now deceased, predicted will happen with privatization, is coming to fruition, sad to say.
  • Rick Scott of Florida (and now in the U.S. Senate)who made most of his wealth through privatization of hospitals

So, when my dad told me, in 2018, about the details of what happened to Grandpa Willet in 1948, I was furious.  As an educator in Florida, I had to face the influence of then-governor Rick Scott, the lousy man who plead the 5th many times when he was investigated for Medicare fraud.  Even tRUMP has said that anyone who pleads the 5th is likely guilty.  This Scott man was instrumental in replacing our retired college president, a man who came up the ranks of education (and had done very well; I can list his accomplishments), with a lawyer with no background in education, as president of the college.  It almost felt like a deja vu moment with regard to lawyers, especially from what my dad explained about his sour and bitter taste towards lawyers, due to what they did when my Grandpa Willet was unable to pay hospital bills and died, as a result of all of that.

I can also go into a mountain of more recent experiences with this private healthcare we are experiencing today. It is all worth considering. However, when the money we all put into Medicare is being embezzled and the possibilities are a lousy man who sits in the U.S. Senate now, getting away with “murder” (as we sometimes say in a figurative way), people don’t think that it is our LONG TERM CAPITALIST INVESTMENTS which are being stolen from us.  That is because some stupid people; put the name of “Medicare Tax” on it.  I guess that was to open the doors for thieves like Rick Scott, as they attempt to say, “government is the problem” and then degrade the ideas of healthcare for all by tarnishing the ideas with false ideas that it is “socialism.” I just mentioned how it is NOT socialism, but long-term CAPITALIST investments.  Sad to say, but I have been writing this for the past 20 years or so and NO ONE picks up on it, for the good of WE THE PEOPLE.  (Same thing with FICA – a LONG TERM CAPITALIST INVESTMENT IN POOLED RESOURCE FOR ALL AND NOT TO BE USED FOR ANYTHING BUT WHAT IT IS INTENDED TO BE USED).

Should there be those who are doing Medicare and Social Security fraud, stop calling it taxes so they can be more firmly convicted in their fraud.  Doesn’t anyone get what I am saying?  Senator Elizabeth Warren, listen up and stop the crap about the “rich paying more for it” and we can put these frauds away by defining unethical stuff like robbery from LONG TERM CAPITALIST INVESTMENTS MADE BY THE PEOPLE.

Yes, to fund things, we also need to remove the cap on investments in Social Security which means the top wealthy ones pay less out of their income than the rest of us do.  Yes. That needs to stop.  In fact, the wealthy are making a big deal about this gap because THEY ARE TREATING IT LIKE AN INVESTMENT NOT A TAX, while these wealthy pigs screw the rest of us.

Senator Warren, we are behind you.  We hope you have a handle on what I am saying in this essay, whether Medicare for healthcare or Social Security for retirement.  Both run hand in hand once we all choose to retire, especially if we are FORCED into an earlier retirement than what we might desire, due to health conditions.

One more thing about healthcare.  Obamacare is based on a model of a Republican governor.  It needs to be reformed, not destroyed.  The fascist Republican leadership today wishes to destroy, not reform.  Such people can be motivated by any errors in Obamacare which need fixing because people find an error and they instantly get on the bandwagon of errors.  One such error with Obamacare is that it ends at age 65.  Then, everyone is forced into the really lousy privatized Medicare established by George W. Bush and the Republicans with its lousy donut hole, subservient to private health insurance and big pharma.  In other words, subservient to supply-side Reaganomics by the fat pig oligarchy.

This is a lengthy essay about healthcare.  But what can be done otherwise when people just look for what they can agree, according to their perspective and never considering being humble enough to learn and gain wisdom? What can be done when a lousy person from Australia pushes his agenda with his Fox media and people are listening.  In the end, people are spending more time on Fox and social media and then complain if an essay is “too long.”  That is bizarre because I would bet people can spend less time reading a lengthy essay, time spent doing stupid things on social media or listening to Fox Commentary for long periods of time; or trying to spend a large amount of time maintaining technology in the home in order to do the social media and other bizarre stuff. There was a day when I could retrieve a newspaper from the doorstep, sit in an easy chair, and read the newspaper and perhaps do puzzles or games in it.  We could do it in less time than we see people spending on social media and often doing crappy stuff.  Go ahead.  Defend the Internet and social media, rather than reading this lengthy essay about healthcare in America and, particularly,  in a rural America which is suffering.

Is the Republican Leadership Nothing but a Cover-up for Fascist Racists & Bigots?

I get these messages all the time endorsing Rick Scott and others in the Republican Party. I send them to spam, but our system does no good in protecting us and the messages continue to come.  Cyber attacks continue. Scandals against us continue. Companies just don’t care and push these things back on the consumer and the consumer has no recourse any more, since this nation adopted supply side Reaganomics and looks at the virtues of selfishness and individualism. What are we to do?

The current information is about how Rick Scott and other Republican leaders are pushing to destroy not only Obamacare, but also Social Security and Medicare.  Let me differentiate from the rank-and-file Republicans and say Rick Scott and these other wealthy ones who cater to the wealthy (including Ron DeSantis – or DePutin or DeSatan and Trump) are not Republicans but are Racists and Thugs of bigotry – or RATS.  They work to validate putting the word Republican somewhere between REPTILE and REPUGNANT in the dictionary as the most important distinction.  I have been a Republican and find this position to be the fault of RATS, not Republicans.

Then I speak with common folk who get maneuvered by these RATs and express the ideas these repugnant people are shoving down their throats. “Too many don’t like Medicare…” or “Medicare is socialist,” even after I can prove that private medicine in America has little good capitalist RETURN ON INVESTMENT (ROI). I get ignored.  One can fix and reform Medicare and this healthcare system for all with something other than just taxes and we end up with a better ROI. Canada spends less on health care and their ROI is that people live longer in Canada than they do in America.  That is ROI not socialism.

I have never met a single person among the common folk and following these lies to be anything but the color of WHITE.  None. This is the REAL reason behind opposition to Medicare AND Social Security, as well as Obamacare and people are just taking this aspect for granted.  It is called racism and no interest in human equality of the races.  A white woman has control over a black man who sits on the SCOTUS, so the man is an Uncle Tom.

Human beings of all races, colors, creeds, religious beliefs, and sexual identities need human justice with human equality. Period. It is not a complex issue. Human justice with human equality.  Period.  We can still maintain “minorities,” but thinking like SCOTUS Justice Thurgood Marshall, we maintain a human equality and stop the damn fighting. Give us cradle to grave healthcare. Stop the BS of lawyers who take away finances of the community of common folk, so we can pay for a PROACTIVE (not necessarily always progressive, socialist, or liberal) healthcare system.  Stop the BS in America over these topics and let us all come together to work to reform for the purposes of human equality and justice. For we fought a civil war in the mid-1800s, but there has not been true peace in America without JUSTICE. Peace and justice go hand-in-hand.

When a white man from this area where I live purchases an illegal assault weapon at a shop on Nanticoke Avenue in Endicott, NY (just over the hill from my home here), and drives some four hours to shoot and kill black people at a super market, this tells me there are plenty of white racist bigots who are coming out of the closet.  As some people would say in this area, “the woodchucks are coming out of the woodwork.”  And those common folk who talk down Medicare or Social Security for all are bastards, snots, and lousy human beings.  They support the efforts of RATs to destroy these things and do not even consider or THINK about what they do. THINK. From Thomas J. Watson who founded IBM here (and not far from that gun shop).  Did that man not hire black folks at IBM because he did not wish to provide the wonderful benefits to anyone except white people?  Hmmmm…. Let me THINK on that one.

I support what is truly REPUBLICAN and founded by people like Ezra Cornell of Ithaca, NY, and many others who had brains to be able to THINK and reason about the abolition of slavery and human equality.   I find too much of the Republican leadership to consist of RATs.

Sleepy Ronnie in the Cabinet, Supply-side Economics, & Privatized Medicare

Sleepy Ronnie in the Cabinet gave us supply side economics It was for the benefit of increasing salaries of fat pigs in the board rooms by over 1000%, busting unions and paying as little as possible to the people doing the work in this nation.

It was the idiot, Shrub, with words to validate supply-side economics, who said, at the turn of the Millennium, “what’s good for business is good for America.” Then with his political party gave us privatized Medicare in order to prop up supply side economics even further.

This was done while the Shrub and all those in Congress and in the government could get a lifetime benefit for healthcare which the rest of us “little people” don’t get, at least as good as those with “divine rights.” Remember, we are just “little people” and only numbers, not worth one damn except as chopped liver.

With this, then, we have this wonderful supply-side economics in the form of privatized Medicare.

When the glucose meter is working fine and is not broken, we face the “preferred” choice of supply-side privatized Medicare. The meter was not broken, so it did not need fixing. We, in America, often said, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” With supply-side economics, that is apparently no longer true. More like, if the big fat pig at the top can line his/her pockets by being paid off by manufacturers of meters (and other medical equipment), such as this one, we waste the money, whether the old one works or not. All for the sake of us “little people” in the senior citizens group.

No wonder we in America pay more for healthcare than those in Canada with their “socialized” system. We pay nearly twice as much asws our neighbors to the north. We pay and the big fat pigs line their pockets.

On top of it all, we in America have a lower longevity rate than our neighbors to the north with their “socialized” medicine. All for the big fat pigs with hedge funds and sitting at the heads of many corporations, on their damn fat asses like lazy bums in board rooms. While WE THE PEOPLE are treated like shit with this wasted money.

Let us give thanks to the demagogues with divine rights, such as charismatic Sleepy Ronnie in the Cabinet from long ago.

And we live happily ever after.

Milk and Ozempic? What’s on my mind?

What’s on my mind? The question asked when I sign into Facebook. Here is what is on my mind. Milk and Ozempic, a medication produced by Nova Nordisk for diabetics.

Sounds strange. Milk and Ozempic. What the hell do I mean by that? Here goes.

I have spent the past two years reducing my A1C and my weight and doing so without insulin injections. That’s because insulin injections caused me, for some 10 to 15 years, to put on weight. I have to wonder whether those injections also hurt other parts of my health. Try to find out in the American healthcare system and one is left scratching his/her head. Nevertheless, I have been successful.

This quest to lower A1C began while I was still on an employer-provided health insurance. I went on Medicare just as we were all introduced to this thing called COVID-19. On the employer-provided health insurance, for which I paid a huge chunk on the monthly premiums, I paid very little for Ozempic and insulin injections. I paid zero dollars for eye injections to fight my diabetic retinopathy.

Then, Medicare hit me at the same time that COVID-19 hit millions of people around the world. All of a sudden, I began to experience this REPUBLICAN-generated shit called the donut hole for prescriptions. As with NAFTA, lousy rotten perverted REPUBLICANS invented this and then go around blaming the Democrats who tried to work and carry things through – for the good of unity in America. That donut hole is a piece of shit and needs to be destroyed and bring universal single-payer healthcare for all, whether on Medicare or otherwise.

So. Big pharma charges about $1000 per pen which gives one month of supply for the diabetic. Under employer-provided healthcare, the prescription was only one month at a time. In order to “save money” for the patient, three pens of Ozempic for three months worth of the medication are given. Sure. It saves a tiny bit of money, but not much, as I have discovered.

My A1C, with three months worth, has not been as good as the one-month version. So that leads me to a question. Does Ozempic not last for three months? I get glazed over eyes of a lack of intelligence from doctors and pharmacists when I ask the question. “We don’t want to answer this question.” Maybe it is out of fear of lawyers? So the patient does not get an answer. Oh. If the patient is “hurt in a car, call William Mattar!” But to have a sensible question like this, well, forget it.

Most recently, according to my log, the first month of using the Ozempic injection pen, beginning in Dec. 2021 and ending in Jan. 2022, my glucose numbers improved, as did improve. I also had an improvement in my A1C the last time the numbers were taken in December.

Now I am near the end of my second month and this week beginning my third month. My glucose numbers are terrible and getting worse. Once again. I ask of doctors and pharmacists AND my Medicare Advantage plan people, the same question I have been asking for more than a year. Glazed eyes. One exception. I was finally put in touch with a “pharmacy” person at the Medicare insurance plan. Once again, I could not get the person to understand. Until I injected an analogy. What if I were to purchase enough milk for three months at the beginning of February, how good would the milk be should it be consumed in the second and third month? The point got across, as I discovered no one was using the idea promoted by Thomas J. Watson, founder of IBM, to do something called THINK. I had used analogies when teaching students at college because I encouraged them to think. Silly me for thinking those in the community who ALREADY HAVE COLLEGE DEGREES would THINK. Silly, silly me for being so stupid. Further, I think my father, WITHOUT A COLLEGE DEGREE, may have done something called THINK, but maybe I am wrong on that. Nevertheless, not sure if all people who don’t have college degrees would respond like my father.

During the time of trying to explain this situation, I sometimes got treated as if I am stupid. “Well… did you put the Ozempic in the refrigerator?” After all, that is what the directions do say. Of course, you GODDAMN IDIOT, I do follow the directions and put it in the refrigerator. What I should have asked was, “what happens when you put milk in the refrigerator for three months, you ass?” We all know what would happen if we leave milk out of the refrigerator for several days. My thoughts about Ozempic were based on refrigerated milk, but I was not listened to, mocked in the questions I asked, with everyone more concerned about “me, myself, and I” than about the question being asked.

One big difference between milk and Ozempic. A quarter of milk costs me a few dollars perhaps. Big pharma charges $1000 for one Ozempic pen. If the GODDAMN thing does not work, after sitting in a refrigerator for two or three months, does not one think it’s a pertinent question to ask about whether it runs out of oomph after a time, EVEN WHEN SITTING IN A REFRIGERATOR?

What the hell is this America today with stupid people who just want to mock, taunt, and push around fellow Americans, rather than thinking in terms of COMMUNITY and how to best serve our COMMUNITY of people? And when I say that GODDAMN LAWYERS like MATTAR and his CAR should be stopped because they teach Americans how to go after one another, I get slammed for that, too.

As a result, we end up with stupid Americans pitting one against another. The Republicans are finding this very useful. Just attack a Democrat. Don’t discuss matters surrounding an issue, but just attack Democrats instead, proclaiming, I don’t want to discuss politics.” Yet, Republicans proposed NAFTA. Sad to say that Democrats helped pull it through, rather than taking a look at what NAFTA would stand for and the possibility of loss of jobs in the USA. The Democrats are hurled with attacks while the ones who proposed this thing in the first place are ignored for what THEY did, except when they blame the Democrats.

Republicans think gerrymandering is ok, should it be done by Republicans, but attack it if Democrats use it. Republicans think the filibuster in the U.S. Senate is ok when used by Republicans, but not ok if used by Democrats. And then there is the one ASSHOLE Democrat in the Senate, bought and held by Republicans, who won’t go along with the elimination of the filibuster ()perverted corrupt money lover Manchin). And the wimps of Democrats who go along with things like NAFTA are really as stupid as Al Gore who refused to do something when, in the end, it was actually proven he had won Florida in 2000.

As for Ozempic and the GODDAMN DONUT HOLE, Republicans were the major force behind making it happen. I know because I spoke with a number of Medicare recipients at the time this bullshit of an idea was implemented. Now I am paying for it, financially and no one gives one damn about it, especially being employed and saying, “it does not impact me, so why should I stand up and give one damn about it?”

Beyond just donut holes and tiers, part of ADVANTAGE Medicare, there is a secret hidden agenda to hide what is available by paying a premium for Medicare supplements. Why? Because the GODDAMN MEDICARE PEOPLE HAVE INSTITUTED SOMETHING THAT OBAMACARE ELIMINATED: PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS. GODDAMN THOSE TRUMP BASTARDS WHO TALK PRIVATE HEALTHCARE AND WANT TO DESTROY OBAMACARE. I just discovered these things. It has been two years since I went on Medicare and I am just discovering this. It is a hidden secret and kept hidden.

The idea is that we pay for a supplement plan for six months, but get no health service for “pre-existing conditions.” Who the hell put this in place? How did the WIMPS of Democrats let this get through? In other words, all those things for which my employer-provided healthcare covered are considered, “pre-existing conditions” and now, I have to act as if, for six months, those “pre-existing conditions” don’t exist? For 40 years I was on employer-provided healthcare insurance. Sometimes I paid out of pocket a portion of the health insurance. I should have amounts in that healthcare system in which I could get coverage on a supplemental plan for those “pre-existing conditions,” due to CAPITALISM AND DIVIDENDS PAID WHEN CONSIDERING THE MONEY I SPENT ALL THOSE YEARS AS S A CAPITALIST INVESTMENT. GODDAMN the big mouths who claim socialism and use such reasoning to help DESTROY Obamacare and keep “pre-existing condition.”

Let me use an analogy. Erasmus Wright, the first insurance commissioner in Massachusetts during the 19th Century, challenged insurance companies because they were collecting premiums for life insurance policies but then being criminals and using the money for other things. When the person died, these CRIMINALS in the business world, with the help of lawyers and accountants, would claim they have no money to pay out to those who had INVESTED in the policies. He worked to change that.

But here we are today and we are back to the same BULLSHIT Erasmus Wright worked to eliminate in insurance. In the case of Erasmus Wright’s example, we all have a “pre-existing condition.” We are all going to die. We are human beings who will die. So, those insurance CRIMINALS saw no need to cover the “pre-existing conditions” at all. CRIMINALS today are running big insurance for homeowners in Florida and healthcare nationwide. There need not be consideration of “pre-existing conditions.” PERIOD. DAMN ASSHOLES who promote such BULLSHIT. Yes, I am angry at this, as I have to face lousy American healthcare when asking questions about a high-priced medication and how “fresh” it needs to be, even kept in a refrigerator and face the bullshit of insurance with “pre-existing conditions,” while Republican business people push for this and Democrats are nothing but a bunch of WIMPS in letting these things happen (with the exception of Obamacare (which is still being dragged through the mud by GODDAMN FUCKING LOUSY PERVERTED ANTI-HUMAN REPUBLICANS). Excuse me, but this makes me so damn angry that I DO USE THE WORD FUCK, so FUCK YOU IF YOU DON’T LIKE THIS. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT SO I DON’T HAVE TO USE SUCH A LOUSY WORD. Need I apologize for attempting to bring such issues to the forefront and nothing happens? So I then resort to vulgar language? If you think so, then FUCK YOU. The only thing for which I feel sorry is for the state of lousy perverted attitudes in the USA which is the nation to which I was born and find it disgusting with people with their immature attitudes about individual rights and no consideration of community of people, so they don’t wear the masks or get vaccinated in order to fight a war on a virus. And then to have eyes glaze over when I ask a simple question about the effectiveness of Ozempic after two to three months in a refrigerator. A lousy immature snotty American attitude which pervades this nation far too much and elects perverts like Trump, DeSantis, Rick the Prick and others, while generating an attitude of shooting holes in a Democratic governors solution, no discussion of how bail reform is bad, and an attack on a Democrat because the person is a Democrat. How do we know that bail reform might be a solution unless we examine it, rather than being a stupid idiotic Zindell of Pennsylvania with an immature snotty individualist right to maintain guns? Unbelievable sickos in this American world today who are directed by the perverted actions of lawyers like Mattar who encourage more zingers at one another than to THINK and CONSIDER the solutions before just hurling lousy crap which demonstrates their anti-Democrat stand than anything else. It is not the America in which I was born, as IMPERFECT as it was then. At least hate, snotty and immature attitudes with money-lovers with lots of money an big mouths did not pervade this nation as much. Democrats and Republicans may have sometimes been at each other’s throats, but Republicans did not dig in their GODDAMN heels as stubborn bastards and SOBs and refuse to consider solutions, THINKING and DISCUSSING those solutions so as to be more effective and not sabotage progress, as Republicans are doing today. I was a Republican in those days, and I must say I abhor the bastards and SOBs who have commandeered the party today.

This is what is on my mind today. Shall I condense it into what I wish to see happen?

1. Universal single-payer healthcare for all and with NO GODDAMN PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS to be considered. Add to this unrelated thing: replace the STAR program in NY with an ACROSS THE BOARD system like Florida: homestead exemption for the primary residence, invented by DEMOCRATS in Florida.

2. Eliminate the GODDAMN gerrymandering completley.

3. Eliminate the GODDAMN filibuster in the U.S. Senate and follow the rules from Roberts’ Rules of Order for DEMOCRACY. Simple majorities are allowed with those rules. When necessary, there rules about 2/3, 3/4 majoritiees, or unanimous decisions. Unanimous used correctly, not the bullshit in the UN with the Security Council.

4. Regulate industry for the good of the community and with teeth in such regulation which really decimates any form of payoffs and bribes. It could be done. When there were regulations, Thomas J. Watson almost ended up in jail for working to destroy capitalist competition at a company for which he worked called NCR. Maybe it was just that Americans were better people then? I have a problem in believing that to be the case. Maybe it was? I hope not. If so, then people today need to read books such as the one by Adam Smith titled, The Theory of Moral Sentiments or works by modern-day GOOD Republican (not perfect, but better than the leadership in that GODDAMN PARTY today), Joe Scarborough. Regulate industry and put MORAL teeth into the way it is regulated by a third party called government.

5. Let Puerto Rico become an independent nation so they can have wealthy people to there and purchase and run the nation. That way, we taxpayers in the 50 states don’t have to fund Puerto Rico while Puerto Rico does not pay Federal income taxes. The tiny island nation of Morroco is run by wealthy ones. It does not have ANY income tax, but only VAT and real estate property taxes. It would be interesting to note how Trump wealthy cronies, running Puerto Rico, would handle hurricanes. After all, Morroco HAS NO HURRICANES. No. We the people of the USA fund Puerto Rico when hurricanes strike, but we get no CAPITALIST INVESTMENTS in return, by way of income taxes. That shits and needs to be stopped.

6. Eliminate the Electoral College and replace with a non-gerrymandering way of making congressional jurisdictions more permeanent, as well as throw the presidential election into a runoff when a candidate does not win 50% or more of the popular vote. The runoff would be scheduled at the time when now a bunch of electors meet for the Electoral College. No Electoral College, but just a runoff, if necessary.

7. Calculate the numbers in the House of Representative based on the same model used with the First Congress in the late 1700s. What are we scard about? That we might have nearly 1000 memers of the House of Representatives?

8. Eliminate the stupidity of being so concerned with states with amaller populations having to have a bigger say. Manchin of West Virginia. How absurd of a bastard. Or senators in some of the ultra-right wing rural Rocky Mountain States. More senators within a rural state than members of the House? Or close to it? Increase the numbers in the House and stop this bullshit with filibuster and all the rest which stupidly runs the Senate.

9. Broadband communitcation for all, with fiber optics.

10. Legalize marijuana and others and stop the bullshit of prohibition. The results could be a less expensive way to rehab those who get caught up in drugs and alcohol, rather than GUNS on the streets as drug lords attempt to protect their territories in order to keep things hidden. Richard Nixon, in the days when I was a Republican and believed in things like FISCAL efficiency and FISCAL conservatism, found that such means of actions would save us all money, as compared to the lousy drug wars which help prop up drug lords. Who opposed Nixon on this? Lousy SOB white supremacists of Dixie, within the Republian Party, like Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond. We got FORCED into the situtaions today and then we are subjected to some jackass Zindell of Pensnsylvania attacking Democcrats when they try to find solutions to the drug problems.

Republicn Nixon had a solution and ended up pulled through Watergate as Helms and others reduced their support because Nixon did NOT fall in line with their fucking Dixie assses with white supremacy and drug lords. Like Clintion and his dumb ass with Lewinsky, Nixon did a really stupid thing with Watergate. But Nixon DID NOT do a stupid thing with his proposals to lift up black businesses in the South and use money for drug and alcohol rehab, rather than the tons of money spent on the war on drugs.

Today, IBM is gone in Endicott, NY, and there are drug wars on the street adjacent to the old IBM complex (Washington Avernue). Thanks a lot, you GODDAMN Republican folks like Zindell and the GODDAMN fundagelical white supremacists.

One has to wonder. If Helms and others did not want rehab, then follow the money and one might discover that assholes like white supremacist Helms and others were making money from the drug wars. Otherwise, they would have supported solutions which might work.

Those of the NRA and other assholes today might just be making money from drug lords, too, so they push for no legislation which regulates guns and blame Democrats for ANY solution at all.

The commander-in-chief who really loused things up in Afghanistan and I wonder if, with Trump’s love of the Arabs, whether he wants Afghan opium and opioids in the USA, so he did nothing for the purpose of justice in Afghanistan. Then, once again, Demorats who followed through on the timeline put in place by Trump get the blame. Joe Biden was not set up, unless one considers the wimpishness of Democrats in handling Trump and the Republicans, not playing hardball with bastard Republican fascists who are traitors to America.

Got it, what is on my mind? This entire “missive” explains what is on my mind, beginning with the lousy perverted ideas of an American healthcare system run by the wealthy Republican fascist business people who are nothing but lovers of money. After all, those SOBs never have to worry whether they have enough money to pay for any medications OR “pre-existing conditions.” And the bastard common folk who go along with this shit of the wealthy are disgusting people.

THE MISTER DOUG REPORT

“We the people…”

Former President Franklin D. Roosevelt expressed the idea that the words of the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution are the greatest part of that document.  “We the people, in order to form a more perfect union…”  He recognized, especially through his wife, Eleanor, that subjection of a minority – the African-Americans – by a majority did not accomplish the goal of, “We the people, in order to form a more perfect union…”  But even FDR was afraid of the Bible-belt jerks in the South who interpreted the Bible in a negative way, with regard to African-Americans.  God bless Eleanor, because she truly had no fear of the stubbornly ignorant ones with brains baked by the sun in the South.

Even today, the sun-baked brains of some of Dixie would rather throw away the “we the people…” because they just don’t believe in social equality.

These dimwitted folks have caused pain and suffering to many of us who DO believe in social equality.  How so?  By insisting we should not have Social Security and taking measures to eliminate it.  By insisting we not have Medicare and taking measures to eliminate it.  By insisting we not have state retirement pensions and taking measures to eliminate such plans.  By eliminating corporate pension plans.  In each case, the influence of those who refuse to accept social equality have set up these systems to appear there is a lack of money.  The real reason behind this?  To deny a diverse population to receive these benefits.  These big fat stupid honkies truly believe they alone are the ones who should receive such benefits.  They have even convinced black racists of the same.  The big fat pig honkies have convinced the Uncle Toms of the pleasures of not receiving Social Security, Medicare, or pensions, only because these black folks are the ones with plenty of money to create their own retirement security.  Not all of us have such luck.

And speaking of “luck,” yesterday my sources mentioned the huge amount of money given by a casino owner – and likely a member of the Mafia – to Karl Rove’s PAC.  Karl Rove, a wealthy honky pig from Dixie.  Karl Rove is one of those who have commandeered the party of Lincoln and abolitionists and turned it into a party of cowards, bullies, and pigs.  And the dumb common people follow this party, with wool over their eyes. I resent being forced to live my life according to luck, which is what the casino owners wish would happen.  I had a great-grandmother who said luck is evil.  Until I have seen what “luck” is doing to this nation and “we the people,” by casinos and other forms of disgusting practices, I never would have believed what my wise great-grandmother said.  But then, she had grown up during the Spanish-American War, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, and the Korean Conflict.  I respect her opinion more than I do the opinions of the fat pigs who dominate our lives today.

Yes, the Mafia of “luck” is aligned with Bible-belt jerks who apparently have missed the scriptures which discuss “luck.” Bible-belt bullies cherry-pick the Bible according to their needs of hatred and self-righteousness and judgment.  They check their brains in at the doors of churches.  They bully the rest of us, dishonoring our own faith by marginalizing us and screwing us over when we defend our own faith.

Near my home is a bails bondsman who has a huge sign in front of his business in support of Rick Scott.  Now why would he support Rick Scott?  I wonder why?  Carlie might be called, “Chain-gang Charlie,” but at least he was dealing with those already in jail.  Thieves and bullies like Rick Scott and Pam Bondi prefer to fill the jails and then deny these are “political prisoners.”  This makes for excessive profits on the part of a bails bondsman.  The more in jail, the more there are for his business.  Why would he NOT support Rick Scott?

We all support or vote for a candidate due to our own financial stability.  But the bails bondsmen and many who support Rick Scott are those who wish to achieve  windfall and excessive profits for THEMSELVES and could care less about society. These pigs do nothing for society, only for themselves – and vote likewise.

Such people are not happy with just having their own excessive profits, but somehow convince everyone that government needs to stop collecting revenues in order to balance budgets.

What about the bails bondsman’s family?  Is it the perfect picture, as drawn by James Dobson, the proclaimed “family” expert with the Bible cherry-picking tongs and the egotistical divine rights he gains from excessive amounts of money?

I, too, wish to receive benefits for myself.  But, on the other hand, I weigh the various problems and situations in our lives against what is best for more people?  Taking pensions away benefits only a small number of people – those at the top.  Common folk who don’t have pensions believe, out of pure jealousy, that those with pensions don’t deserve them.  Yet, they fail to step back to see the larger picture, jealous of the ones who REMOVE the pensions in the first place.  How stupid and unintelligent are these common folks.

For generations, my own family has existed on the idea of making a profit, but not necessarily excessive profits and those built on greed.  I grew up with a wonderful family.  I am talking about both my immediate and extended families.  Oh, there was no perfection.  My dad was a single owner of a private business – self-employed, as described by the IRS.  He did not seek excessive profits and he helped his own family along the way.

My dad and mom were once on the same road as a Republican who worked his way to wealth and fortune.  My parents supported him and provided assistance to him, when he had nothing.  However, my parents have received absolutely no appreciation for what they did to help that man along the way.  Yet, like other Republican pigs today, they insist they are “self-made” and had no help from others, especially never acknowledging the help of the government.

Rick Scott likely had similar situation in his past.  He probably passes off the “little people” after they helped him along the way.

People like Scott and the Republican I have described above – pigs – are unappreciative people.  They take and take and expect the little guy to keep giving, with no regard to a family budget.  Just be a “good family man,” as defined by James Dobson.  We family-oriented people are supposed to ignore the fact that monopolistic private enterprise can dictate high prices, worse than taxes.  And when the government is stripped down, the means for communicating with a representative government are ended.  These anti-government, egotistical, money-worshiping, money-loving pigs remove the means for the common people to stop the excessive greed of monopolistic corporations with CEOs making 200% more than the lowest-paid employee (it was 25% gap in the 1970s, before Reagan).  These pigs are destroying pension plans for the average guy.

Profit in the family budget?  Why, only those with a “divine right” and those who own most of the resources in this nation are apparently allowed to make profits (according to Rick Scott and others) – and boy, the profits they make.  Rather than SPREAD OUT the OPPORTUNITIES for the average family to benefit from the PROFITS OF CAPITALISM, the bullying greedy selfish honky pigs deny the equality of capitalism. These pigs then wonder why madmen like Castro and Stalin come to the forefront.  Even those who defend capitalism, but do not wish to have unbridled capitalism are called “communists” solely on the belief that the disagreement with the pigs labels us as “communist.”  FDR is one.  Eleanor Roosevelt was one.  I am one.  And I will quote Adam Smith from the 18th Century – many years before the “communist manifesto” was written, to defend placing some reigns on capitalism.  Adam Smith, the original capitalist, advocated the type of “bridled capitalism” advocated by FDR.  Like FDR, I, too, don’t accept ideology.  I accept solutions which will work.

I did not go into teaching because of a promise of excessive profits.  I did not go into teaching for the money.  The guy who was helped along by my parents to the fortune he has today, told me, as a kid, I was stupid – on two counts:  (1) I should not admire FDR and (2) why would I become a teacher?  I should go where “the money is…” dentistry or medicine or engineering.  I am so stupid not to recognize that the future was going to be controlled by idiots like him – with money and a perceived divine right.  What a dingleberry I was – apparently.

I have worked in both public and private educational organizations.  I have worked in a corporation.  I have worked with and without a union or tenure.  I am here to tell you that a non-union corporate model has more unethical political protections of some employees, while others got no protection.  It was not always based on how well the employees performed, either.

I obtained student loans in New York state for both public and private institutions of higher education.  The loans for the private institution were far worse than for the public institution.  Rather than purposely default and have more money available to me to invest in my future, I faithfully paid back those loans – while raising a family.  I am not griping, but just pointing out that there were those in my generation who DELIBERATELY defaulted, thus causing all of us more expense, while those people might just be the Karl Roves and Rick Scotts of the world who were able to save for their own retirement.

Many greedy, selfish, egotistical, money-loving, money-worshiping Republican bullies have no conscience to understand the human story behind what I am saying.  Money-worship blinds these pigs and they merely marginalize people like me (and Eleanor Roosevelt, in past years) as being griping lunatics.  They refuse to understand the point I make, as they then remove whatever I have been able to work hard to attain – a pension for retirement.  Under these conditions, why would I not endorse the axing of all Bush tax credits for the wealthy? Who is causing class warfare?  We have all been working smart and hard to attain what we set out to do, only to find the wealthy pulling the rug out from beneath us, while these pigs add more and more to their own coffers.

In reality, these wealthy pigs are not the “self-made men,” as they like to portray themselves.  In reality, people like me are the “self-made men AND WOMEN” of the world.  I quietly worked, became a company man when it was required, figured out how to go around hurdles presented to me, solved problems, and fathered a family.  I had many successes, but also overcame failures, too – learning from my failures.  I am not perfect and often do not toot my horn as much as greedy, selfish, egotistical money-loving, money-worshiping people do, as they attack their fellow human beings.

“Piggies” by Lennon / McCartney and the Beatles; White Album

Have you seen the little piggies
Crawling in the dirt
And for all the little piggies
Life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in.

Have you seen the bigger piggies
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.

In their sties with all their backing
They don’t care what goes on around
In their eyes there’s something lacking
What they need’s a damn good whacking.

Everywhere there’s lots of piggies
Living piggy lives

“We the people…” are more important than the “big piggies” and don’t enjoy being the slave-like “little piggies.”

Fascist Hypocrites

To those people who believe it is “unfair” to be paying for Medicare which also pays for abortions and Planned Parenthood, I say:  get a life.

Here are a few of the things which I find “unfair,” yet I am forced to pay for these things anyway:

  • Roman Catholic church channel on cable television
  • Fundamentalist church channels on cable television
  • Fox “Propaganda” News
  • All sports on cable television rather than a “pay-as-you-go” system which was around in the 1970s when I could CHOOSE to attend a Syracuse Orangemen football game in Archbold Stadium rather than paying all of the NCAA, NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and what not – through my cable television bill
  • Censorship on television I watch
  • Making the American Dad look stupid in sitcoms on cable television
  • Stupid political advertisements which make derogatory statements about the people and issues I choose to support – hoping I will conform because I pay for this shit on cable television – so “if you can’t beat them, join them!”
  • Stupid political advertisements about how wealthy people are more intelligent than the common folk (yes, indeed, I have viewed such a heinous ad)
  • Thrillers, Suspense movies – the stuff with blood and guts all over the cable television screen
  • Violence on cable television
  • War and the murder of innocent people
  • Lawyers fees paid through higher insurance premiums
  • Paper-pushing non-productive jobs in insurance companies (particularly in healthcare)
  • Accountant and lawyer fees due to the myriad loopholes and deductions in a very stupid income tax system
  • Supplies for my education classroom
  • Increased homeowners’ insurance premiums, even after paying thousands of dollars over 40 some years
  • Increased health insurance premiums for my son
  • Increased insurance premiums paid after never receiving a DIME after investing in the premiums for some 40 years
  • Decreased FICA in Jan. 2011 due to a wimpy president and the stupidity of ideological jerks in the Republican Party – which threatens my INVESTMENTS I have made over 40 some years – INVESTMENTS which stupid ideological bastards in the Republican Party call, “entitlements.”  I am entitled all right – to the MONEY I INVESTED in the hopes of reaping a RETURN ON INVESTMENT OVER THE LONG TERM
  • CEOs who receive bonuses they don’t deserve and a pay rate differential from the common American from what it was in the 1970s
  • My tax dollars to banks which refuse to help those of us who have paid our bills responsibly over 40 years and find the unresponsible Americans currying more favor than we receive
  • The 13% interest I paid on my mortgages in the 1980s after Ronald Reagan promised to reduce interest rates – in order to defeat Jimmy Carter for the presidency
  • Increased prices on the NEEDS of the consumer (the demand-side) due to the EXCESSIVE GREED of the supply side who look at the continuing DEMAND for NECESSITIES like housing (rent, too), food, healthcare, energy heating and cooling human needs, and education as a reason for jacking up prices – because the demand will always be there – and re-creating the mercantilist / feudal landlord system of the Middle Ages – DESPITE evidence that society was better without such horse shit economics
  • Monetary support of regimes in Pakistan and the Middle East – especially those who funded Osama Bin Laden; in fact, any foreign funding while America’s infrastructure crumbles and we have nothing left to deal with crisis situations
  • Money paid to immigrants which is derived from MY government investments into Medicare and Social Security (oh, yeah, many are Roman Catholic who will support the Roman Catholic takeover of our government – the conformity which will create utopia and which I do not support)
  • Monetary support for the anti-competitive pro-monopolistic measures of big business which contain people who are cowards to compete with Fidel Castro and Chavez head on – and prefer to remove competition rather than meet it head on
  • Monetary support for drilling oil in this nation rather than keep our oil as a “savings” account and invest in non-oil energy products and make such products more competitive
  • Monetary support for continued monopolistic ventures in electricity rather than truly opening up the field of energy to competition which will help drive down prices – competition between electric and propane gas, natural gas, and other sources which will provide the necessary cooling and heating for basic human needs

Is this list long enough?  Oh, it’s not?  Well there are more items to add to this list.

Fascist Republicans

Congressman Tom Rooney speaks the Republican line, which is out of touch with reality.  I have witnessed Medicare (the “government”) when it does NOT interfere with the doctor-patient relationship.  I have witnessed Big fat greedy pig private insurance when it DOES interfere with the doctor-patient relationship, insists on having it’s own way – even when procedures are more expensive – and THEN has the nerve to ask my employer for an increase in health insurance premiums.

The reaction to what I say?  My bet is – let’s see how to screw this loudmouth (like me) – rather than taking to heart what is being said.  The truth hurts, Mr. Rooney.  The truth is you wield a big loudmouth stick of conformity, impressing fear upon Americans to believe the Republican-Party ideology – and it hurts when confronted with the truth about situations.

The communists said utopia is gained when everyone thinks the same.  Hitler and Mussolini said utopia is gained when everyone thinks the same.  The Roman Catholic church and numerous right-wing religious groups say, utopia is gained when everyone thinks the same.  The Republicans say there is utopia when everyone thinks the same.  In order to get everyone to think the same, we reduce funding for education, claiming there is not enough money.  Then we spend money on frivolous paper-pushing and ambulance-chasing lawyers who overcharge.  Not enough money for teachers, but enough money to support more lawyers per capita in this nation than there are in other Western nations where healthcare is less costly.  Yet, no jobs for teachers, but … for the lazy unproductive jobs to push papers in accounting and law – plenty of GOOD-PAYING jobs!

Mr. Tom Rooney, you should wake up to what is happening out there.  It’s the economy, stupid.  And a single-payer health insurance plan underwritten by private insurance truly competing with one another – rather than paying big executive bonuses.

Healthcare is a right.  Nixon and Haldeman set up the health environment we have today.  Prior to that, doctors and dentists actually treated patients in order to HEAL them, not to make money – as the number one priority.  The excessive greed can only be ended in one way – rid us entirely of “Tricky Dicky Care” and give us a single-payer universal medicine plan.  Period.

Stop the lawyer fascination of prioritizing the “writing” of legislation and provide something meaningful.

And to lawyers like Rooney, you work for us – the people of your district, not for the Republican Party and the lobbyists.  You also do not work exclusively for the Palm Beach Gardens wealthy pigs or the Fort Myers wealthy pigs or for your church.  You work for ALL of us.

If the members of Congress put their heads together to solve our problems – the way scientists (not lawyers, thank GOD no lawyers!) did in order to return Apollo 13 to this earth – then we might actually see solutions.  Instead, we see a bunch of ideological pigs paid off by big corporations wishing to invoke what is best for – ME, ME, ME – the ones with money.  We need solutions for society, not the ideology of fat pigs like the Koch brothers.
