The intent of this blog is to promote human equality, human progress, human peace and justice, and optimism. To accomplish this, to encourage the discussion of ideas after identifying and discovering problems, and then creating positive solutions for "we the people," in order to provide for the "general welfare" and "domestic tranquility" of America now and its "posterity" into the future. To encourage an emphasis on separation of religion and state for all, no matter if this is for those "of faith" in a Maker / Creator (Deists, God-loving people, Christians, various people of spirituality) and atheists or agnostics.

MISTER DOUG NOTES

Communism.  Communist Manifesto.  Karl Marx.  Friedrich Engels.

Wikipedia describes Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels as “political theorists.”  I disagree.  What came out of the “Communist Manifesto” of 1848 was more closely related to economics than to political science.

In this manifesto, was there not an attack on capitalism?  Capitalism is about economics, not politics.  Adam Smith was a  proponent of capitalism as an economic system to replace feudalism and mercantile systems which had existed up to his day.  According to the writings of P.J. O’Rourke and former Congressperson (and Republican), Joe Scarborough, Adam Smith advocated a government intervention and regulation of the excesses of banks and unbridled speculation.  That was Smith’s foray into politics, yet the ultra-conservatives today will call those who advocate what Smith advocated as being “communist.”  Marx and Engels, my friends, came some 50 or so years after Adam Smith, so check your facts, rather than striking out, like bullies, at good people, even if we, too, can make mistakes.

Marx and Engels assessed the economic systems around 1848 and concluded the systems were “capitalist.”  Even with the time period of 50 years following Adam Smith, capitalism had not fully taken root.  As a musician, I see the early 19th-century movement away from the Esterhazy (royalty) patronage of Haydn to the business independence of Beethoven.  But royalty still did run the world, whether Marx or Engels wanted to acknowledge this fact or not (or were just too dumb to see it).

Cuban and Russian exiles are also ignorant to Adam Smith and true capitalism because the czar of Russia and Battista of Cuba both presided over feudal economic systems.  Ayn Rand was mistaken in what she said because she never researched capitalism carefully enough, in order to recognize the wisdom gained by Adam Smith as he endorsed the same type of regulation which eventually became the hallmarks of Theodore and Franklin D. Roosevelt.  The Roosevelts have also been mis-perceived as “communist,” despite the fact I am able to prove they were following the wisdom of a capitalist named Adam Smith.

The Great Depression and the 2008 Bush Recession were both caused by over-speculation of bankers and investors. This was the same type of over-speculation which Adam Smith observed and thus advocated bridled capitalism in the 18th Century.

If people who are like Marco Rubio and followers of Ayn Rand, the Russian, are so stupid they refuse to see what true capitalism is – even when someone points it out, they remain stubbornly ignorant.  When such people conclude only from their narrow vision of economic systems which were actually reactions to feudalism, they remain stubbornly ignorant.  I don’t want people like Rubio or “disciples” of Ayn Rand running my nation – the nation of the Roosevelts.

The issue regarding the “Communist Manifesto” is about economics, not politics.  One can invoke a similar economic system as the one proposed by Marx and Engels, but have a democratic form of government.  These are called “socialist democracies.”  Tito of Yugoslavia had a more democratic form (politics) of “communism” or “socialism (economics).” Marx and Engels proposed an autocratic “dictatorship of the proletariat.”  HItler’s autocratic dictatorship (politics) remained a capitalist economic system, even if it did favor Caucasians and trashed Jews and other minorities.  But, to white honky racists who trash equality, no form of government or economics is good – except that which favors their pitiful selves.

There are parallels between Adam Smith’s proposal for a controlled capitalism and socialism.  In my mind, capitalism is better because it allows the economy to grow when products and services we WANT are provided in a competitive environment, such as that in Vermont (which denies the building of many big boxes, in favor of the local competitive businesses).  At the same time, we need to acknowledge human needs and, as a society AND government respond accordingly.  The problem is that the politicians, on the take from corrupt lobbyists, have given us a terrible system.  Like Vermont, Washington could deny lobbyist access to legislators, but the refusal to do so is written with dollar signs and green in the eyes.

Handouts from the government proliferate and such handouts are perpetuated by politicians trying to win elections by determining which politician can provide the most handouts.  Handouts are NOT capitalism and are NOT socialism.  Entitlements are more about a “return on our investments” than about handouts, but people are so damned confused about all of this.

It is unfortunate that so many “big piggies” believe there should be a destruction of the political system called democracy and we should replace democracy with an autocratic plutocracy run by corporations.  The forces behind these big piggies are “human” corporations ruling against the “numbers” (by bean counter standards – the stupid ones with MBAs and JDs), in other words, the “slaves” and “robots” – the common humans who are humans in the FLESH, not pieces of papers about corporations as drawn up by the bean counters.

“We the people,” rich in numbers of people but low in dollar signs, are being convinced we cannot overcome all of this.  Who are the ones with the psychological means and control of the Media, running on the informal money-based “Un-fairness Doctrine,” to convince us of this negative attitude?

I refuse to believe such negatives.  But I have a problem.  Without people shedding that negative attitude, I stand alone and can be damned, can I not?

Cutthroat Kitchen

Sad to say, Food Network and Alton Brown have just stooped to low levels of the sewer with the announcement of a program, Cutthroat Kitchen.   This glorifies sabotage and all the other barbaric brainless and shallow libertarian practices which drive society to anarchy and an uncivilized world.  Many of us attempt to keep our society on a trajectory towards a civilized world instead.

Shame on you, Alton Brown, for agreeing to such a scumbag program.  Of course, i suppose such scum will sell well.  So all we are concerned with today is making and worshiping money.  Scum and the dregs of society.  We need to make money, but not do it with such extremes of greed and selfishness.  Go screw, Ayn Rand and all her followers.  Your virtues are lousy and you destroy civilized life on this planet.

A Note from Patrick Murphy

Patrick Murphy reminds us all that a few votes can make a difference.  EVERY VOTE COUNTS.

My additional remark:  don’t let people tell you that “your vote will not make a difference.”  This is a Republican strategy to keep people away from the polls.

This is what Patrick Murphy wrote:

In that time [since spring of 2011], I’ve met tens of thousands of voters who want a new direction for Florida.  I’ve laid out a clear, contrasting vision – of protecting Medicare and Social Security for our seniors, of using my experience as a CPA and small businessman to create jobs, of supporting a woman’s right to choose, of treasuring our environment for generations to come, and perhaps most importantly, of putting an end to the divisiveness and extreme rhetoric that is crippling Washington.

But it all comes down to this.  There’s nothing left but the voting.

Vote for moderation.  Vote for Patrick Murphy.

For instance, a woman’s right to choose is an issue of moderation because otherwise, one group forces its will upon another.  No one forces the extreme right wing to obtain an abortion against their will.  I am against abortion myself, but when I think about my great-grandmother – a Scottish woman who died of childbirth in 1901 – I think about a crippling law which killed her and denied her the chance of having other babies.  Those “babies” who disappear from a swingset (an anti-abortion ad)?  They could be the babies who never had a chance at life because the mother disappears, too.

I will also add this.  It is the divisiveness caused by people like Paul Ryan and his support of Ayn Rand attitudes which cause abortions, not the freedom to choose.  It is the greed and selfishness attitudes of a Mitt Romney which causes abortions, not the freedom to choose.  It is the promotion of fascism – “my way or the highway” –  from people like Allen West which promotes abortions, not the freedom to choose.  For if we rid society of the ideas of Ayn Rand, individual selfishness and greed, then we come one step closer to eliminating the idea that abortion is a form of contraception.  Legislating morality has been proven NOT to work, especially when people embrace the greed and selfishness proposed by Ayn Rand.  And THAT is the issue of moderation.

There is a reason America embraces freedom and liberty.  But it takes responsibility and reasoning to maintain it, not selfishness, greed, and macho man attitudes.  The Republicans do not offer the option of responsibility and reasoning.  Period.

Vote for Patrick Murphy.

Hypothesis for “Where Have All the Leaders Gone?”

Mr. Iacocca, perhaps I am not wealthy enough to be allowed to make conclusions.  Perhaps I have not made it to the top of the heap, as others have done, so I am simply a stupid intellectual to be ignored.

Nevertheless, my recent reading of essays about the wealthiest persons in the world, Andrew Carnegie, I may have stumbled across the answer to the question you posed in your 2007 book, Where Have all the Leaders Gone?

Andrew Carnegie believed CEOs of corporations had to learn what work ethic is and that those who inherited wealth don’t know what true work ethic is.  Therefore, these people should not lead.  They become false models for those who work for them.   The problem of work ethics lies not in the workers, but in the leaders.

In order to fix this idea of “work ethic,” the late Kenneth Lay and other living  stupid leaders force the Ayn Rand “ethics” or “virtues” of selfishness and greed – espoused by Greenspan and Paul Ryan – upon employees like a communist leader or the pope, elders of Mormonism, and the late Jerry Falwell of the Southern Baptists (and other leaders)  claim there is “utopia” if people only follow one way of thinking.

There is no objection to the role greed and selfishness played in the rise of the poor son of Scottish Presbyterian immigrants, wealthy tycoon, Andrew Carnegie, to the accumulation of massive amounts of wealth (when considered for the days he lived).  There is no denying statements by 18th-century economist, Adam Smith, in the claim capitalism should be free of interference.  But to embrace ONLY these statements to validate Ayn Rand’s irrational thoughts about “virtues” or Barry Goldwater’s irrational statements about greed –  there is a virtue in NOT “compromise” – is absurd.

Mitt Romney admires Goldwater’s nonsense “virtues” and Paul Ryan admires Rand’s nonsense “virtues.”  Both fly in the face of one of the wealthiest men in the world.  Andrew Carnegie also believed the wealthy have a duty to society.

Mr. Carnegie lived at a time when unions had not been established, so he agreed with the others in his management cronies.  They were all against unions.  But his reasoning was based on the fact that HE insisted he never had any assistance (or so he claimed – and he is wrong) to earn his wealth.   A teacher had assistance from my mother, became wealthy and departed from the teaching profession, and then spurned my mother.  How many wealthy ones like him disavow the assistance they received from peons along the way?  Thus, it is right for unions to provide assistance to those who don’t have it.  The problem, as you point out in your book, Mr. Iacocca, is when unions become as unreasonable as the wealthy CEOs have also become.

Romney received help from Daddy.  Paul Ryan had an attorney as a father who likely made more money than teachers.  George W. Bush had assistance from his daddy and made a LOUSY leader (as pointed out in your book, Mr. Iacocca).  These are all lousy leaders who have inherited wealth.

Barack Obama worked his way up.  Joe Biden worked low-paying blue collar jobs as he worked his way to the top.  By Andrew Carnegie’s standards, the choice is clear.  Obama and Biden.

Perhaps there are some detected levels of imperfections in these two guys.  Perhaps the same can be said about Andrew Carnegie, too.  When these two guys “step on toes” of others – as Romney / Ryan do all the time – the roar of Fox Noise is deafening.  My bet is that Andrew Carnegie never had that kind of sabotage, but even if he did, his extreme wealth could shut it down immediately.

The problem lies in racism, too.  After all, who are the guys who have likely inherited the wealth today?  Stupid white men who carry a hidden objection to African Americans or Hispanics working their way to the top.  Deceptive men (and women?) who live in denial of their hidden racist attitudes.  And yes, there might be disappointed good white Anglos who are passed over, due to affirmative action.  But why do these idiots continue to vote for stupid white men like Bush, Romney, and Ryan, rather than work together with those who recognize the value of diversity?  Actually, I have heard African Americans, perhaps familiar with Andrew Carnegie’s success, who have spoken out against affirmative action, too.

Where have all the leaders gone, Mr. Iacocca?  Perhaps this blog provides some answers.  But who the hell am I?  Nothing but horse shit, don’t you know?

About Being Gay and the Nasty Politics / Religion Today

Recently, a “bishop” told congregants of some church that those who vote for Barack Obama are “going to hell.”  There are many churches with bishops.  The Roman and Anglican (Episcopal) and the United Methodist (once called the Methodist Episcopal) all have bishops.

Let’s take note that sane religious groups do not make such statements.  But if we did, we certainly have plenty of reason to say, “don’t vote for Romney / Ryan or you will go to hell.”  The biggest reason is Paul Ryan, but there are plenty of reasons why Mitt Romney is evil.

Let’s take Mitt Romney.  He bullied gay people when in high school.  You like that kind of man for president?  A bully?  You do, huh?  You like that?  How about if I, as a gay man, bullied YOU because you, as a man, have sex with a woman – out of wedlock?  How about if I bullied YOU for not taking responsibility for your actions and just freely having sex with the “one who you are with?”  HOW ABOUT THAT? Why don’t I bully people like that?  Because of Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ taught us to love our neighbor.  Jesus Christ taught us to do to one another as we would have done to ourselves.  I don’t know about you who actually bother to read this post, but I would not bully myself, so why would I bully another person?

Then there is Paul Ryan.  His worship of Ayn Rand makes him very evil.  At least those Roman Catholics who accept gay people are following the words of Christ:  love your neighbor and do unto others as you would have them do to you.  The pope rejects the true Christians, but would accept a congregant who follows the words … no WORSHIPS … an atheist anarchist who believes no one should take responsibility for his/he actions?  How can Paul Ryan have any conscience and attend a Roman Catholic Church?  How can the pope accept such a person, but would deny John Kerry the sacraments because he supports gay people?  John Kerry practices the true Christian religious beliefs.  Paul Ryan and countless other HYPOCRITES are evil creatures doing the will of the beast whose name is created by adding a “d” to the word “evil.”

Barack Obama does not go around ADVOCATING abortion, but accepts the fact that women have a choice.  Ayn  Rand ADVOCATED abortions.  Do people even realize this as they go to the polls in America?

But it’s being gay which impacts me.  My freedom and liberty could be curtailed, should a Republican administration take charge.  Does anyone even care enough to consider this?  I am a RESPONSIBLE gay man, unlike the homosexuality promoted by Ayn Rand – “do your own thing and don’t give a damn about those around you.”  “Love the one you’re with,” according to Ayn Rand.

Here I have spent a lifetime being careful to take responsibility for my actions.  And due to a stupid Jewish woman – an atheist – her followers could really bully me by using churches and universities like Palm Beach Atlantic U. to do their dirty work.  These irresponsible people who promote anarchy USE a bishop to tell his congregants to be self-righteous and judge a good man who has worked hard for the Middle Class for four years now.  Stupid suckers in America who buy this crap from a bunch of paranoid losers fearful that they might be gay.

It matters not that I have had to endure those who FORCE me, using the fear of societal “traditions,” into heterosexual relationships when I truly was always gay.  So, Mr. Rick Santorum, the devil himself, how did YOU lose your freedom and liberty?  Who removed that from you, … you SOB?  Who did that to you?  And the owner of Chick-fil-a… who removed YOUR freedom and liberty?  Did someone FORCE either of you bastards to marry someone of the same sex?  Sorry to use such strong language, but if the truth were known, I wonder what these guys say under their breath about people like me?

Paul Ryan and Rick Santorum (and others) are paranoid losers propped up by a Nazi pope.  PERIOD.  And what did Jesus Christ have to say – FORCEFULLY – about HYPOCRITES?  Maybe you should read your Bibles, Mr. Romney the bully and Mr. Paul Ryan and Mr. Rick Santorum.  And I have a suggestion.  Don’t rely on “traditions” and THEN go to the Bible to dredge up your stinko stuff.  That’s called proof texting.

Romney is a paranoid bullying loser propped up by the money extracted from the members of his faith – as the elders in Salt Lake City command.

Where, Mr. George H.W. Bush, in the supposed “liberal” mainstream Media, do we hear what I just said?  NO WHERE.  Screw your “new world order,” Mr. Bush … and Mr. Romney.  Screw your “kinder, gentler nation” horse shit, Mr. George H.W. Bush.  HYPOCRITES – as Jesus Christ said.

All of you have a hidden agenda.  Push gay people back into the closet or into drag.  I despise drag and I don’t wish to be pushed back into a closet.  There are gay people who might like drag, too.  Let them like it. That is the freedom we are SUPPOSED to have in the USA, but which the witches of the right wing wish to deny us.

Consider this.  There are many of us who truly are gay and are gay for many reasons, some of which consist of physical things like genetics and hormones and such.  But the reason for being gay is not limited to physical reasons, either.  But are there gay Ayn Rand worshipers who also maintain a hidden agenda?  Are there gay people who pretend to be gay in order to NOT take responsibility for ones self in society and make loads of money?  After all, with no kids to raise, a gay man can become filthy rich, don’t you know?

And that is the irony of the platform of the Republican Party.  The position of that evil party is to trash gay people who are responsible, in favor of the Ayn Rand type of gay man or woman.  Trash the ones who are responsible, then use an iron-fisted approach to those who insist on being outside the closet.  Deny these responsible people finances and jobs and healthcare and retirement, don’t you know?

The gay couple who wishes to adopt a child from overseas.  Trash them because they don’t fit the “traditional” definition of a family.  But the promiscuous ones?  Well… just don’t do it in front of us – same with you promiscuous heteros… just keep it quiet … and DON’T GET CAUGHT… or else!  LOL!  Shallowness! LOL!

The gay couple who wishes to live a private life in a committed relationship, rather than cruise the streets and bars.  Trash them, too.  But the ones who get their jollies from multiple partners – either hetero OR homo… why… just let them do their thing – the Ayn Rand way… go down low… with multiple partners…. be irresponsible, but … OH!  don’t get caught doing it.  And LOL!  Shallow laugh!

Jesus Christ:  “Satan is the father of the lie.”  Jesus Christ:  violent reaction against DECEPTIVE business people bilking the masses as they went to the synagogue.

Ayn Rand encourages promiscuity.  Domestic partner and marriage / civil union laws acknowledge what Jesus Christ said.  Ordination of gay clerics allows the ministering to those who are being responsible in committed relationships and having to face the horse shit of bullies like Romney – who apparently has Romnesia.

And yes, I may not be an executive like Lee Iacocca who published the words I just used.  But I am no different from someone who has money – and don’t you forget it.  Position does not give more rights to do something that others cannot do – and that includes the elevated position some people give the representative of Satan himself – the pope in Vatican City… or the elders in Salt Lake City.  If you are a bully, you are a bully, Mitt Romney.  It matters not how much goddamn money you have, Mittney, when you use if for evil purposes – like ship jobs overseas.

Ayn Rand followers promote promiscuity, whether it be in the heterosexual or homosexual communities.  These are shallow people who lack compassion for their fellow human beings.  “Down low” deceptiveness is okay, but not committed relationships and responsible families, regardless of sexual identity.  They sucker in those of institutions like Palm Beach Atlantic University and other institutions promoting the destruction of gay people.  Even those of us who are AGAINST abortion, but believe legislation of morality, a failure for centuries, is NOT the approach to use.

Nasty politics from nasty people who lack compassion.  These people promote a vicious form of capitalism called crony fascist capitalism – based on Ayn Rand and Libertarian evil beliefs.  I prefer the type of capitalism NOT modeled after Vatican City and Salt Lake City.  I prefer democracy and democratic capitalism which consists of free market capitalism and nixes the huge corporate conglomerate monopolies which don’t compete, but destroy their competition.  I prefer the model of capitalism of the ‘trust buster” and Republican who ran for president exactly 100 years ago – Teddy Roosevelt.  Teddy Roosevelt and Nelson Rockefeller and Jacob Javitz were all better Republicans than the lot we have today which consist of evil people.

And that is the problem with the paranoid Taft family of Ohio.  That election of 1912 split the Republican Party in half.  Teddy Roosevelt had more people who believed his PROGRESSIVE REPUBLICAN way, but nasty right wing Howard Taft – with the smallest numbers – insisted in being right.  Think about it.  Where is the Taft family of Ohio today?  What impact did that family have on the 2004 election?  Think about it.  Where are the Teddy Roosevelt folks today?  I’ll tell you.  They are being brushed aside by nasty Republican fascists today.

The ones who deserve respect are the responsible gay people today, not the Ayn Rand irresponsible ones.  But nasty politics brush good people aside – as the nasty politics destroy good RESPONSIBLE people, too.  The people who have actually worked hard to EARN their money, rather than take from others.

Republicans Create Fear, Intimidation, and Divisiveness in Order to Win

Republicans don’t know how to win on the substance of issues.  They lie and deceive.  In Wisconsin’s gubernatorial election, the Republicans convinced a whole bunch of suckers they need not go to the polls, should they have already signed the recall petition.  Imagine the lies these people have up their sleeves – from Rove, Koch brothers, and company.

These greedy selfish Ayn Rand worshipers convince people without jobs that teachers make too much money.  They lie about the true issue in the Chicago teachers’ strike in order to portray teachers as being greedy.  The issue was not a financial one, but there are those who believe it was.  The true greedy ones lie and deceive and then point fingers at innocent people.

Meanwhile, the suckers who believe this deceptive crap from the mouths of Republicans never attack the people who make far more than teachers:  lawyers and, yes, CEOs and other executives.

3 August 2011

The principles of Jesus Christ are the best principles to live by, but people don’t understand Jesus Christ.  Read Roman Catholic laity, James Wills’s book, What Jesus Meant.  Read Episcopalian, Laura Butler Bass’s book, Christianity for the Rest of Us.

Those who hop on the Christian conformity bandwagon of the masses are being led astray, whether it’s Pat Robertson with his massive following in the Media or Eternal Way Network.  Jesus said:  “The road to hell is broad and spacious and many [mega] will be on it.”   I don’t know which road I am on, but I try to avoid the “mega-sized” road which many are following.

I also DON’T impose my values upon others, while many bullies on that wide and spacious road have attempted to impose their values upon me.

My grandmother said, “Judge not lest ye be judged.”  I always assumed she was quoting from Jesus, but I am not so proud as to admit that I don’t know everything.  But the message I get from what my WISE grandmother told me:  I stand before my CREATOR and my CREATOR (GOD) will decide my fate.  I believe in a loving God who will make certain my fate is a good one.  Period.  No dogma.  No rhetoric.  Pure and simple.  If I have made my God unhappy, oh well, then I have made the Creator unhappy and I face the consequences.  But I don’t believe in my heart that I have made the Creator unhappy.  On the other hand, I don’t need someone else telling me THEIR opinion and interpretation about what makes our Creator happy or not.

I live by the principles of Jesus:  don’t be greedy, egotistical, lying, and deceptive.  Period.  It drives everything else in my life, from everyday work, recreation, and relaxation.  And this means it also drives my life with regard to sex.  I don’t need my life micro-managed by some puritanical bastard bullies.  I will treat others as I expect them to treat me:  with respect.  However, I am intolerant of hateful people.  I will respect them as long as they leave me alone.  I don’t have to accept the opinions of hateful people because Jesus Christ told us:  “love your neighbor as you would yourself.”

But also I should love my Creator, too, for God made humans to stand with intelligence above the animal species – in the image of God, not animals.  However that happened – and I don’t care about the details – but there is a Creator there who is far more powerful to be able to put our pieces together so everything works together in a marvelous wondrous way.  I don’t attempt to form a concrete image of the Creator – based on traditional images – because all the images might just be wrong.

I also believe in original blessings and find “original sin” to be horse s*** designed by people who are like Latin American banana republic dictators (and a pope) to impose fear and intimidation upon people – and keep us all as slaves.  “Original sin” creates an atmosphere with no opportunities to pull our self up by our “boot straps.”  The pope and banana-republic-type (Hitler- Mussolini- Stalin- Mao-tse Tung- Tojo- type) autocrats create slaves.  Period.  There is a more human way of leadership, but it takes great skill to do it.  It’s easy to be an autocrat, but to be a democratic leader, there are many more difficulties to overcome.  Autocrats are cowards lacking humility to learn what it takes to be a true leader.  On the other hand, there are those who try to achieve leadership in the name of democracy – sincerely try to do it – and they either have not learned the skill or are just plain unable to do so.  FDR was a true democratic leader.  FDR achieved a 96% election win over his opponent in 1936.  Reagan was an autocratic bully.  He never achieved anything CLOSE to that figure, yet he sure did attack FDR on many occasions – out of cowardice jealousy.  Reagan had a narrow view with an ideology.  FDR was a problem-solving leader who rejected ideology.

Despite the lies of Reagan, Bush, and many Republicans (particularly the tea party), FDR followed the American heritage of welfare and safety nets which existed from the founding of the Republic.  FDR sought solutions to re-define safety nets for the American people because the safety nets of the late 18th Century and the 19th Century (government bounty land grants) no longer exist.  The problem lies in the Democrats (and Republicans) who followed FDR, NOT FDR – as Reagan would have us believe.  Reagan was an ignorant jerk who knew how to communicate effectively.

The long-term investments of real estate were also the “welfare” state of the 19th Century.  A 19th-century single mom (Jane) who was left with land from a Revolutionary War land grant could sell the land at a profit in order to support her family of four children (true story) after the father died.  Single moms were “created” due to death rather than divorces (during this era).  Jane had no recourse of “child support” (and attacking a man in order to receive handouts) nor did she have government food stamps or a welfare check.  She had the safety net of a huge land grant which had been divided among the descendants of a Revolutionary War veteran (her deceased husband’s grandfather) – and she sold it for a profit.  Without an income during her lifetime (and little for investment in savings accounts), but due to hard work in growing her own food and raising four children by herself, she was rewarded by her children who took care of her until she was nearly 100 years old.

Jane is not the only example.  There were many others whose descendants probably still own the land from the original land grants following the American Revolution.  They perhaps have an income and don’t need welfare – as did any of their ancestors.

The American heritage was to help one another out in order for each to become what he/she is capable of being – back when land investments were plentiful.  By the time veterans of World War I returned home, land grants had dried up.  Republican KKK-supported Hoover fired on the veterans who protested in Washington about not having housing (at the height of the Great Depression).  That same American heritage to “help one another out” – a sense of community – was the driving force behind FDR’s solutions and decisions (the New Deal).  The small merchants and farmers were no longer as prevalent as America became more urbanized by herding people into the cities as slaves – combining with the influx of immigrants who were also herded into urban areas.  In order to help Americans continue to have a piece of the pie which characterized the rural life, unions were developed in the same manner that small merchants (and farmers) created cooperatives in order to provide more clout within a capitalist marketplace.   Economics is about balance, but there are those greedy wealthy bastards who refuse to live life in balance with others in the community.  They are pigs.  (Snort snort).

Both cooperatives and unions have been ruined, I believe, by deliberate forms of corruption imposed by greedy bastards who stubbornly and persistently refuse to accept balance in this system – particularly since bitch Ayn Rand has propelled these people with confidence like never before in a belief system based solely on greed.   The tea party person with whom I recently spoke – the military brat – defended Ayn Rand like never before.  He describes himself as a “former Marxist.”  I believe he knows very little about how America has operated for several centuries.

Side point:  Another great “communicator” (Reagan described as a “great communicator”) with a lousy product:  Bill Gates of my generation.  He is an ignorant jerk (a Democrat, too) with a lousy product, but knows how to communicate (market) effectively.

My solutions, not my values and ideology, are important.   Solutions are proposed in order to make life better for the American COMMUNITY rather than just for those who have the most money.  All American citizens are important (notice I used the word, “citizen”).  We need solutions with the community of Americans in mind, not those of greedy bastards who would define happiness for slaves.  Period.
