The intent of this blog is to promote human equality, human progress, human peace and justice, and optimism. To accomplish this, to encourage the discussion of ideas after identifying and discovering problems, and then creating positive solutions for "we the people," in order to provide for the "general welfare" and "domestic tranquility" of America now and its "posterity" into the future. To encourage an emphasis on separation of religion and state for all, no matter if this is for those "of faith" in a Maker / Creator (Deists, God-loving people, Christians, various people of spirituality) and atheists or agnostics.

We don’t need tax cuts for the wealthy and an austerity budget.

Ronald Reagan said, “facts are stupid.”  Ronald Reagan was a stupid ass.

Facts:  Bill Clinton balanced the Federal budget with higher taxes on the wealthy and tax deductions for the Middle Class.  The Middle Class spent the money that the wealthy are NOT spending today.  The Middle Class invests in America, but the wealthy class invests in horse shit.  Thus, the Federal budget was balanced by the time George Bush (wrongfully) inherited it (the budget should have been Al Gore’s to manage, but thanks to unethical behavior by Scalia, we got Bush).

Facts:  there were 10 times more jobs created when Clinton was president than when George Bush was president.

Blog 0705

Recently, I spoke with a young man who had a good reasoning mind, but lacked wisdom.  Yet, he stubbornly clings to his ideas and is unwilling to discuss matters which would allow him to gain some wisdom.  This attitude is pervasive today, especially among those who have “found” the tea party as their “salvation.”  They are wrong.

This man used philosophy to validate why our government should ban abortions.  He used a philosophical approach to reason why it’s okay to send young men and women who have made it out of the womb off to get killed in war.  I don’t buy it.

But the real kicker was his insistence that our federal government is here to oppose “evil.”  He and I never got the chance to discuss this matter – only he mouthed his words and I never got a word in edgewise.

Here is his premise.  To support his argument, this young man (lacking wisdom) quoted George Washington with a statement our first president made about our government.  The young man claimed George Washington said the role of our government is to “fight evil.”

(Sounds to me like this man has watched too many cartoons and read too many super hero comic strips – and is living in a fantasy world).

Had this man given me a chance to speak (which I was not given that chance), I would have mentioned several things.  First of all, “evil” is subjective.  Sort of like:  one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

With that in mind, let me address the issue of “evil.”  Today, John Edwards (whom I am told studied at the Center for Creative Leadership in North Carolina – a group with whom I also studied), Tim Mahoney, and several other good men who could have been destined for leadership in this nation have been eliminated from that path because they are considered “evil.”  These men maintained mistresses, so therefore are considered “evil.”  Emotional female logic (an oxymoron) has determined that these guys are “evil.”

Wait a minute.  Due to Martha’s inability to have children, George Washington regularly visited a mistress.  In fact, there are those who claim descent from the sperm of George Washington meeting the egg of his mistress.  (This is one of those little secrets maintained within the genealogical community?)  In fact, a little newspaper in upstate New York, The Sun-Bulletin of Binghamton, NY (before corporate conglomerate Gannett purchased it and merged it with The Evening Press), ran a story about one such descendant.

So this young “whippersnapper” (as I remember being called when I was this guy’s age) is validating our government taking a “moral” stand and is basing this on a man who would be considered “immoral” by self-righteous and judgmental people today!

My grandmother repeatedly said, “judge not lest ye be judged.”  In her younger age, she, too, was an emotional female jerk, supporting the “morality” stand of government by advocating in favor of Prohibition – along with other “ladies” in the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union.  By the time she reached her 70s, she recognized the fault in that movement – from the wisdom she gained over many years.

The leader of MADD, out of emotional distress over the loss of a child to a young drunk driver has used her emotions, not her wisdom, to impose upon our society a stupid drinking age – like an emotional witch.  Yet, I recall growing up in a dry town in upstate NY and watching the carnage of drunken OLDER PEOPLE as they killed younger people while driving home – because stupid ignorant idiots refused to allow drinking in my home town.

But the wisdom I learned from my grandmother and the wisdom I have gained from my own experiences is being ignored – brushed aside.

My stand against fascist values may be considered, by some, to be negative.  It is not – because it is a stand in favor of positive progressive ideas while defending myself in the process.  Fascist ultra-conservatives are bullies.  They insist on making their positions “normal” for society and therefore forcing many of us to conform to those ideas.  If, through fear and intimidation, these bullies can make their ideas pervasive in society, then where will those of us more positive ones who lack hatred be able to point out the wisdom which is lacking in society today?  If I seem negative because I take a defensive stand against those who would remove the peace and tranquility which could be a part of my life, then so be it.

Give millions of Americans like me the chance to seek “life, liberty, and happiness.”  In New Hampshire, they say, “live free or die.”  In colonial Virginia, Patrick Henry said, “give me liberty or give me death.”  Self-righteous judgmental moralists are attempting to remove my liberty and freedom, so I am going to lash out.  As it is positive in New Hampshire and it WAS positive in Virginia, what I say are positive things, not negative things.

“Judge not lest ye be judged.”

Fascist Michelle and Her Buddies

No one forces Michelle Bachman or others to have same-sex relationships.  But people like the Bachmans disturb and deny people their rights to the pursuit of “life, liberty, and happiness” by judging and claiming they can “convert” and “change” gay people.

The only “choice” a gay person has is to remain in the closet or come out of it.  When people like the Bachmans and the religious right use fear and intimidation – claiming their “love” for fellow human beings – they remove that choice from many people who just want to live in a free society and not bother other people.  BTW.  Holding hands and showing affection, as with heterosexual relationships, should not bother other people.  No one forces those others to show such affections.  In fact the only forcefulness for heterosexuals to feel compelled to show affection is to demonstrate, “we are not gay.”  That is stupid and ignorant – of people who are stupid and ignorant and are unable to come to grips with themselves.

My life was one of being subliminally forced into heterosexual relationships – because that was what society of the 1960s and 1970s dictated.  In reality, I may have had the ABILITY to choose, but societal pressures, such as those Bachman (the bitch) and others wish to impose on people in our society are sick.  It is Bachman and others who are perverted and have perverted all sense of reasoning by trying to force people to return to those days when society “spoke softly but carried a big stick” when homosexuals got out of line and actually THOUGHT about something different than a heterosexual relationship.

It is ironic I would use the statement of my hero, Teddy Roosevelt, to make a point here.  But the religious right have taken TR’s statement about carrying a big stick to high levels of negativity – to validate their position.  In reality, TR was all about civil rights.  He was booed in Georgia when he proposed the equality of white and black people.  He was instrumental in creating some of the first child labor laws.  He did positive things about human rights by “speaking softly and carrying a big stick.”  The fascists today (which includes Bachman and most Republicans today) use TR’s statements in a negative way – against a mere 10% of the population.  What a bunch of bullies and cowards.

Democracy is NOT about imposing the will of the majority in a negative manner upon a minority.  TR recognized this, but today’s ignorant Americans refuse to recognize this.  The GLBT community makes up about 10% of the population.  Just because there might be a simple majority which wishes to remove the “life, liberty and pursuit of happiness from this small group,” does not make the measures of such fascists who mis-lead the population as being correct.

TR, with his native Georgian wife, tried to stop the woes of Jim Crow Laws in the South, but was booed.   The GLBT community today stands up for its rights to have a life which allows these people to NOT conform to the closeted promiscuity, but rather to marry and to have children.   But negative people such as Bachman, in their false judgmental attitudes, rally up ignorant Americans to follow her negative ways – along with other similar candidates.  They mock the original roots of the Republican Party – as do the other Tea Party people.  TR, too, saw this mockery and split the party in two pieces exactly 100 years ago.

The ones who REALLY need to be ashamed are the black folks who support such hatred and figure this is some kind of “personal opinion.”  It was not an opinion when people imposed Jim Crow Laws on black people, no more than it is an opinion to impose fascist ideas against the GLBT community.  Shame on any black American who supports this horse shit because they forget those white people like TR who attempted to remove the chains from the black folks in the early 20th century.

Fascist Hypocrites

To those people who believe it is “unfair” to be paying for Medicare which also pays for abortions and Planned Parenthood, I say:  get a life.

Here are a few of the things which I find “unfair,” yet I am forced to pay for these things anyway:

  • Roman Catholic church channel on cable television
  • Fundamentalist church channels on cable television
  • Fox “Propaganda” News
  • All sports on cable television rather than a “pay-as-you-go” system which was around in the 1970s when I could CHOOSE to attend a Syracuse Orangemen football game in Archbold Stadium rather than paying all of the NCAA, NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and what not – through my cable television bill
  • Censorship on television I watch
  • Making the American Dad look stupid in sitcoms on cable television
  • Stupid political advertisements which make derogatory statements about the people and issues I choose to support – hoping I will conform because I pay for this shit on cable television – so “if you can’t beat them, join them!”
  • Stupid political advertisements about how wealthy people are more intelligent than the common folk (yes, indeed, I have viewed such a heinous ad)
  • Thrillers, Suspense movies – the stuff with blood and guts all over the cable television screen
  • Violence on cable television
  • War and the murder of innocent people
  • Lawyers fees paid through higher insurance premiums
  • Paper-pushing non-productive jobs in insurance companies (particularly in healthcare)
  • Accountant and lawyer fees due to the myriad loopholes and deductions in a very stupid income tax system
  • Supplies for my education classroom
  • Increased homeowners’ insurance premiums, even after paying thousands of dollars over 40 some years
  • Increased health insurance premiums for my son
  • Increased insurance premiums paid after never receiving a DIME after investing in the premiums for some 40 years
  • Decreased FICA in Jan. 2011 due to a wimpy president and the stupidity of ideological jerks in the Republican Party – which threatens my INVESTMENTS I have made over 40 some years – INVESTMENTS which stupid ideological bastards in the Republican Party call, “entitlements.”  I am entitled all right – to the MONEY I INVESTED in the hopes of reaping a RETURN ON INVESTMENT OVER THE LONG TERM
  • CEOs who receive bonuses they don’t deserve and a pay rate differential from the common American from what it was in the 1970s
  • My tax dollars to banks which refuse to help those of us who have paid our bills responsibly over 40 years and find the unresponsible Americans currying more favor than we receive
  • The 13% interest I paid on my mortgages in the 1980s after Ronald Reagan promised to reduce interest rates – in order to defeat Jimmy Carter for the presidency
  • Increased prices on the NEEDS of the consumer (the demand-side) due to the EXCESSIVE GREED of the supply side who look at the continuing DEMAND for NECESSITIES like housing (rent, too), food, healthcare, energy heating and cooling human needs, and education as a reason for jacking up prices – because the demand will always be there – and re-creating the mercantilist / feudal landlord system of the Middle Ages – DESPITE evidence that society was better without such horse shit economics
  • Monetary support of regimes in Pakistan and the Middle East – especially those who funded Osama Bin Laden; in fact, any foreign funding while America’s infrastructure crumbles and we have nothing left to deal with crisis situations
  • Money paid to immigrants which is derived from MY government investments into Medicare and Social Security (oh, yeah, many are Roman Catholic who will support the Roman Catholic takeover of our government – the conformity which will create utopia and which I do not support)
  • Monetary support for the anti-competitive pro-monopolistic measures of big business which contain people who are cowards to compete with Fidel Castro and Chavez head on – and prefer to remove competition rather than meet it head on
  • Monetary support for drilling oil in this nation rather than keep our oil as a “savings” account and invest in non-oil energy products and make such products more competitive
  • Monetary support for continued monopolistic ventures in electricity rather than truly opening up the field of energy to competition which will help drive down prices – competition between electric and propane gas, natural gas, and other sources which will provide the necessary cooling and heating for basic human needs

Is this list long enough?  Oh, it’s not?  Well there are more items to add to this list.

Fascist Republicans

Congressman Tom Rooney speaks the Republican line, which is out of touch with reality.  I have witnessed Medicare (the “government”) when it does NOT interfere with the doctor-patient relationship.  I have witnessed Big fat greedy pig private insurance when it DOES interfere with the doctor-patient relationship, insists on having it’s own way – even when procedures are more expensive – and THEN has the nerve to ask my employer for an increase in health insurance premiums.

The reaction to what I say?  My bet is – let’s see how to screw this loudmouth (like me) – rather than taking to heart what is being said.  The truth hurts, Mr. Rooney.  The truth is you wield a big loudmouth stick of conformity, impressing fear upon Americans to believe the Republican-Party ideology – and it hurts when confronted with the truth about situations.

The communists said utopia is gained when everyone thinks the same.  Hitler and Mussolini said utopia is gained when everyone thinks the same.  The Roman Catholic church and numerous right-wing religious groups say, utopia is gained when everyone thinks the same.  The Republicans say there is utopia when everyone thinks the same.  In order to get everyone to think the same, we reduce funding for education, claiming there is not enough money.  Then we spend money on frivolous paper-pushing and ambulance-chasing lawyers who overcharge.  Not enough money for teachers, but enough money to support more lawyers per capita in this nation than there are in other Western nations where healthcare is less costly.  Yet, no jobs for teachers, but … for the lazy unproductive jobs to push papers in accounting and law – plenty of GOOD-PAYING jobs!

Mr. Tom Rooney, you should wake up to what is happening out there.  It’s the economy, stupid.  And a single-payer health insurance plan underwritten by private insurance truly competing with one another – rather than paying big executive bonuses.

Healthcare is a right.  Nixon and Haldeman set up the health environment we have today.  Prior to that, doctors and dentists actually treated patients in order to HEAL them, not to make money – as the number one priority.  The excessive greed can only be ended in one way – rid us entirely of “Tricky Dicky Care” and give us a single-payer universal medicine plan.  Period.

Stop the lawyer fascination of prioritizing the “writing” of legislation and provide something meaningful.

And to lawyers like Rooney, you work for us – the people of your district, not for the Republican Party and the lobbyists.  You also do not work exclusively for the Palm Beach Gardens wealthy pigs or the Fort Myers wealthy pigs or for your church.  You work for ALL of us.

If the members of Congress put their heads together to solve our problems – the way scientists (not lawyers, thank GOD no lawyers!) did in order to return Apollo 13 to this earth – then we might actually see solutions.  Instead, we see a bunch of ideological pigs paid off by big corporations wishing to invoke what is best for – ME, ME, ME – the ones with money.  We need solutions for society, not the ideology of fat pigs like the Koch brothers.

Michelle Bachman, the Homophobe

It’s been a long time!

“Judge not lest ye be judged.”  My grandmother often said this to me.  It seemed irritating as a kid to be lectured with some quote presumably from the Bible.  But in actuality, it has stuck.

Michelle Bachman needs to learn about this quote.  She may claim she has a “loving” way to “convert” gay people, but the fact she refuses to acknowledge people are gay tells me she is being judgmental.  So right back to Michelle Bachman:  by judging others, you are blaspheming our Creator.

John 1:1 speaks about the “Word” sent to the earth.  John 3:16-17 says, “For God so love the world he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.  God sent his Son to the world not to condemn the world but to save the world.”  The Word – Son of God – sent to the earth with a message about God and his love – not hatred – for humans of all kinds.

My grandmother also told me, “actions speak louder than words.”  The message of the “Word” was in His actions which speak louder than the words which came from His mouth.  Jesus Christ never condemned abortion or homosexuality.  Jesus Christ was very angry over deceptive greedy people ripping off the common folk while they were attempting to be true to God with their sacrifices.

“Now stop right there,” you say.  “Jesus spoke about fornicators and adulterers.”  Yes, indeed, He did.  But what is the root of the problem regarding fornication?  Is it sex or is it greed and selfishness?  Furthermore, if people like Michelle Bachman are going to point fingers at homosexuals, they are wrong.  There are more heterosexual fornicators in the workplaces of America than there are homosexual fornicators.  Homosexuals make up only 10% of the population, so by mere statistics, there are more heterosexual fornicators than there are homosexual ones.  So, why do the dimwitted Bible-thumping proof-texters point fingers at homosexuals?  Get over it.

JESUS NEVER CONDEMNED HOMOSEXUALITY!  (He never condemned abortion, either – another issue).  He DID condemn, with his actions, people like the American corporate CEOs – the ones which Charles Rangel wished to tax heavily on their bonuses (due to their extreme greed and deception).

But alas! Charles Rangel, like Jesus Christ, was figuratively “crucified!”  And that is the fear of people like Michelle Bachman and others as to why they will take a stand against a minority of people in this nation who don’t have as much money as the greedy CEOs.  She preaches her version of morality, but ignores the morality of greedy heterosexual fornicators and CEOs – and those who caused the problems – and continue to cause them – for this economy.  The important issues should be about the economy and providing jobs and opportunities.  These issues are not important to Michelle Bachman.  But get her in the White House so she can appoint new Supreme Court justices who will condemn abortionists and homosexuals.  That is her true desire, along with numerous other Republicans.

“Judge not lest ye be judged.”  “Jesus did not come into this world to condemn the world but to SAVE the world.”  I will not judge Michelle Bachman.  But Jesus Christ DID say it was okay to act in self-defense.  We may have to “turn the other cheek at first,” but Jesus Christ did not endorse the idea of sitting around like a bunch of wimps constantly being screwed.

Many people may believe what Bachman says, but the road to hell is wide and spacious and many will be on it.

Crucifixes in European schools?  Once again, the Roman Catholic Church doing the same thing a communist dictator does:  utopia is only possible if everyone thinks the same thing.

A European court stupidly (without considering the rights of others) allowed the Roman Catholic Church to FORCE what IT considers RESPONSIBILITY upon citizens, running rough-shod over the RIGHTS of many people.  To many PROTESTANTS, symbols are never considered for their use because these things usurp worship away from our Creator.  The pope is ignorant about God the Creator and forces ignorance down people’s throats.

The article about this event mentioned those who would resent the presence of the crucifix:  Muslims and atheists. The article said little about Protestant Christians who reject symbols.  Once again, people are writing articles in the news and don’t present all the facts.

The Roman Catholic Church pushes a judgment upon all.  Jesus Christ said, “Judge not lest you be judged.”  The Roman Catholic Church judges.  It is blasphemous.

I would resent a crucifix being in my classroom – as a student.  As a teacher/professor, I would never place one in the classroom.

People need to seek wisdom, not certainty.  I am a Protestant Christian and very happy I have been trained in this way.  It would be judgmental on my part to say, screw the Roman Catholic Church, so I won’t.  Perhaps the next thing the Roman Catholic Church will do is to treat all Protestants in the same manner that Martin Luther and others were treated – taking away our professions and our money.  In that case, screw the church, which I say in self-defense.

14 March 2011

He/she ain’t heavy, he/she is my brother/sister.

13 March 2011

“This is the day our Creator has made.”

“Seek wisdom.”

“The love of money is the root of all kinds of injuriuos things.”

“Give to Caesar [the government] his due.”  (Jesus Christ).

“God so loved the world that he gave his ownly begotten Son, that whomever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.  God sent His Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world.”

“Judge not lest ye be judeged.”

“Ye who is innocent throw the first stone [at the prostitute].” (Jesus Christ)

“Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Jesus Christ describing the basis of all laws)

Jesus Christ angrily overturned the tables of the greedy money-worshiping money changers saying, “you have made the house of God a den of thieves.”  He acted with violent anger two times over-turning the money changers’ tables.  He never acted angrily at fornicators, adulterers, homosexuals, abortionists, prostitutes, or any others.  In fact, he asked the crowd about to stone a prostitute whether there was anyone in the crowd who was without sin so as to be able to cast the first stone.  No one came forward.

“Judge not lest ye be judged.”

“Thou shall not murder…”

The 10 commandments describes a “law” against murderers.  Rick Scott, Scott Walker, and many others will have the blood of murder on their hands as they remove opportunities for the Middle Class in America.  Their heavy-handed, stubborn agenda creates an environment of violence, thievery, and, yes, murder.  These guys – and those at Fox News (and others) are responsible.   The BLOOD is on the hands of ruthless dictators funded by greedy individuals such as the Koch brothers.  They are SOBs, buggers, bullocks, and all else which describes selfish, self-centered, greedy individuals.

“Judge not lest ye be judged.”  I guess these bullocks are NOT going to hell.  Beg your pardon.  Where are they going?

12 March 2011

Soren Kierkegaard said:   “Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward.

Scott Walker types in diapers understand NOTHING from the past and are attempting to carve a future feudal land/corporation/slave world.  It did not work in the past.  It cannot work in the future – and then expect peace and justice in the world.
